Long ago there was a mod called ControllerBlock, made by a guy called Sunrise.(his name is a link btw.)
*Progress edit 6.6.2013 4:10PM*
The entire post will continue below this edit as this is to get legal stuff out of the way.
Now then, let's head to crazy town
I will start by saying that should Sunrise or Masau return and find this reboot and think "No, I will not stand by this! Give it back!" I will most happily return the IP to them.
But untill then I have now taken control of this IP and any legal problem stuff will go directly to me as I am the Creative Director of The ControllerBlock 2013.
Now to the mod itself and progress:
I am currently working on somethings around the alpha we have running at the moment, but as soon as this is complete I shall post a video so that you can see what is going on, commentaries and all
We are talking about a mod that changed how we used to play MineCraft here!
But let us start at the beginning.
*edit*: Turns out I had some faults in the story.
This is what started The ControllerBlock. It was to be a bridge mod, but evolved to The CB. Sunrises BridgeBlock Mod
YouTube video I found again from MineCraft Alpha 1.1.2_01
Sunrise went on to create this mod, where you would lay out a rune on the ground around a ironblock and this would activate the code to make it work, turning it into "The ControllerBlock", and this mod did the simplest of things.
You would choose any (buildable)block of your choosing (after the rune sceremony) and right-click the ironblock with it to "register" that block to the ControllerBlock. Be it gravel , cobblestone , water or lava , you could start laying out your grand design with the one type of block in hand.
Mind you, there where regulations on it stating that one CB could only register one type of block.
But none the less, this was awesome! You could build a entire drawbridge of let's say cobblestone and the design would be saved once you felt you where done and went over to the CB and right-clicked again.
Design Saved!
But the grandious CB had more in store. What was it all good for? Apply redstone power to it and the lands would be yours!
Your design would disapare! How could this be? Back in those days, Before Bukkit, it was amazing.
Turn the power off again and it would reapare! Just as you left it. It was awesome!
We started using it for larger things that Pistons could not handle, or instant towns. But the there was still some problems as it needed alot of space and felt a bit clunky. The Runes where the main problem in making it smaller.
Then it started falling apart...
Sunrise was nowhere to be found...
he has not been seen again since Oct 24 2010 05:26 PM!
The mod kept getting posts asking for updates.
the latest was 26 November 2012 - 07:39 PM
hMod was getting traction and we needed to get this mod running again, but with constant server patches it became hard for a group of individuals that really did not understand code.
But in the darkness there was one man who did want the rest could not do, and he resurrected The CB Mod!
Starting with cleaning up the mod and fixing it we made Sunrises mod even better! And with the added support for hMod it was awesome once again, this time not only in SSP, but also SMP!
The mod was again gaining traction and people started using it again, but you must remember, this was before MineCraft had any of its redstone techs... Repeaters were not yet implemented by Notch and his team.
This did not stop us from playing the hell out of the mod.
But things where about to change once more... We had heard of something that would fix multiplayer in MineCraft.
We heard of Bukkit!
Long gone where the days of constantly updating hMod (or so we thought at first, but Bukkit turned out well after some time.)
And all modders would have a equal goal to strive for and develope alongside one and other...
Was this yet another death blow for The CB?
In the beginning there where some updates, but they died out... Most could not rewrite Sunrises old code enough for it to work with some of the newer versions of Bukkit.
Masau tried to help as much as he could and had time to spare, but he has since been offline as of Dec 29 2012 05:24 PM...
Yet before he went offline there was still hope, because in one of the last Bukkit versions before the merged with Mojang and became a part of the the Mojang Crew someone I can not remember (and it was hard trying to find these threads in the masses of today), this someone made a last effort to make The ControllerBlock work with Bukkit.
And it worked! And now we had lots more to play with restone too!
So I set out and did something I had only seen through the VoxelBox... I remember one of their first videos on showing the Box and what it could do. Animation in MineCraft with blocks that where in the world.
Now this needed a massive pc for one, but it also needed a emence huge space to render the frames for the animation.
The VoxelBox had something that no one else had.
Except for The ControllerBlock...
Where the VoxelBox had a lot of good things about it, there were drawbacks, one of which I felt was the sheere amount of stuff that was in it. It was Huge!
Yeah, you could not use most of it but it was still chugging the server (most of the time we got it running. Some may have been more lucky.)
The ControllerBlock had what was needed. It was now small (no runes, just throw some redstone on it and right-click to activate it) it was easy to use and it did not need large frame spaces to do things. But still, it was a On/Off mod, and it was not set up to have any animations stored.
So I did the next best thing. I created something I called a sequencer. At the time no one on YouTube had posted anything similar, but I'm guessing some may have used it before me. I could not be the only one.
This is probably the closest I have seen to what I made, as it is the same design at a base level.
The differences between this and my design was that mine was tuned a lot faster, it had more flow and felt more natural as natural can go in the world of MineCraft. And it had a second row as to make it a two-way circuit.
All I wanted was to make a door that was huge, like a casle door, but without the lag and without the slow framerate. And I did. When I had finished the door, it consisted of 7 "frames" and the sequencer was working both ways! I felt a moment of proudness when it ran perfect...
We had a lag free server, running off a friends old pc with a crappy broadband speed, and we had a big castle door running smooth client side on my laptop some miles away from eachother in a small village in Norway. Nowhere could I see that this was done in a similar fashion. Only one close was the VoxelBox server.
To this day I have pestered to try and recover that server so I could upload some kind of footage for everyone to see, but alas it may have taken the road of so many older servers and died from corruption.
This is the reason why I am asking for help to revive, rewrite or even create new code, to rebirth this mod so it can once again be a part of things like FeedTheBeast or Tekkit. This is the perfect mod for small server animations and instant on and off stuff to be used with redstone.
Please help us resurrect this golden mod.

ps: I do realise I may have gotten some facts wrong, but this is from what I remember and how much I could dig up before posting this. If I have gotten anything wrong let me know and I will edit the crap out of what i have written above.
The videos below are some that I think could look awesome with this mod implemented in small portions of the map.
All Creators that have been mentioned, linked to or linked videos from are owners of their intelectual property. I use them as a reference to the post here, and nothing more. None of what I have written is to set any of them in a bad light.
Original Tutorial for Masaus ControllerBlock made by Mr_Bones from the Old hey0 forums
Look at the end where they have this massive wheel in the mountain side, picture that animating.
Huge doors? Or swappable doors with things? Not a problem. The CB could do that and get away with small 2x2 or 3x3 doors. 128x128 door? No problem.
Tired of Drawbridges being just easly submerged in lava?
Or just being 2 wide? The ControllerBlock is your saviour as you can have them as big as you want!
Only thing to remember is that you put in as many frames as you want. You can of course have just two frames as one ON and one OFF, but if you can do more and it still not affect any lag on the server, go for broke
If this goes well there might be one more mod that I might try and give a round with the defibrilator... We'll see...
If I was better at modding, I would gladly help out with this mod. Great post
[Edit] On second thought, I may have the ability to do this. I need to finish up on some current projects, but I'll get back to you when I get the chance.
That is what I'm talking about, we need to find someone, but if we can start the ball rolling we can get to the piont where someone that know enough to make this happen.
If you do get the chance it would be fantastic! I will do my part no doubt, as far as my abilities go that is.
Asking GotoLink for some help might get this mod rolling, if the sources were released.

Yeah, you completely missed the point. I was talking about the USER, not who is doing it.

Ok, now I get it I thought is was the talk about the hyperlinks for some reason. Was working on updating my MineCraft Texture from 1.4.7 and to 1.5.2, and I'm still not done. I think I was sitting with it for 48 hours straigth before going to bed. Needed to sleep, so my brain should be working properly now Yes, we could talk to GTL
I make this my official public answer, hopefully to avoid people asking me forever.
As far as i know, the original author didn't release his sources nor the right to continue his work.
Unless proved wrong, I won't start from his code nor help someone doing it.
But, I found TheApathetic toggle blocks which might be a good replacement and which I could update.
I didn't find a more recent version, and you didn't mention it, so it is a simple suggestion here.
Maybe you won't need my help if you find other people anyway.
Ok, so we have some new designs that we are going to discuss in the group, maybe/maybe not to implement them, but we'll see
If we can agree on the design and I can figure out how to create it I'll post the sketches we have so far Looks cool
I'm currently working on how to make the showcase video, but have been having some problems with some of my old designs that I can't quite remember how I got to work in the first place, but it's being worked on
Tell us what you think of the CB in the comments, let's get this thread rolling
