At E3: Mojang announce the Better Together Update, coming this summer to Xbox, Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch and Windows 10 Edition. This update "introduces cross-platform play, breaking down the barriers and letting people play the same complete Minecraft with each other across devices! [...] Anyone playing the game on Windows 10, iOS, Android, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and VR devices will be able to play online together."
In-game servers are coming to Minecraft on console and mobile. "We’ve joined forces with four of Minecraft’s most prestigious servers - Lifeboat, Mineplex, InPvP, and CubeCraft - and made them accessible directly from the game itself via a server browser.". Learn more on Minecraft.net.
