  • At E3: Mojang announce the Better Together Update, coming this summer to Xbox, Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch and Windows 10 Edition. This update "introduces cross-platform play, breaking down the barriers and letting people play the same complete Minecraft with each other across devices! [...] Anyone playing the game on Windows 10, iOS, Android, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and VR devices will be able to play online together."
  • In-game servers are coming to Minecraft on console and mobile. "We’ve joined forces with four of Minecraft’s most prestigious servers - Lifeboat, Mineplex, InPvP, and CubeCraft - and made them accessible directly from the game itself via a server browser.". Learn more on Minecraft.net.
  • Super Duper Graphics Pack "...this optional DLC pack is crammed full of excessive visual razzmatazz: light will filter in shimmering rays through cotton clouds, dappling the ground beneath fluttering foliage, and sparkling on the rippling waters. We have dynamic shadows! Directional lighting! Edge highlighting!  [...] will be released on Xbox One and Windows 10, performing best on high-end PCs and Project Scorpio."   • Following the announcement of cross-platform play there were many questions about whether or not this feature would be coming to Playstation too, unfortunately it looks like Sony have decided it won't be.
  • Minecraft Realms is coming to the Nintendo Switch in the summer.
