@zuff - RAR support was added ages ago. Probably the mod you downloaded was finally compatible with the library I'm using.

Gotcha. Any way you could add an option for the app to minimize automatically after launching Minecraft? Then when minecraft is closed it comes back up and does it's clean-up thing.

Works great! Did you add rar support? For some reason I can use rars now and I didn't think I could before.

An update is coming to fix the custom water/lava issue with the new 1.1 release tonight.

Sweet! Your program is a necessity while modding. I can't see why anyone wouldn't use it.

I had the default texture selected in the default texture selector.

Try backing up and deleting that texturepacks folder and see if that fixes it.

No sorry man but I'm still seeing no change, I thought i could take the easy way but I guess that I was wrong haha. Thank you for your time. I'm just going to manually do it.

Good! That's the best way :smile.gif: Sorry I couldn't help you with your problem.

Nope same thing. Never mine ill just use Minecraft Mod Manager. Its doesn't seem to hate me like Minecrafter does XP. Thanks for trying though.

Ah so you're an XP user? Good to know. I'll update the main post to let others know it may not work with XP. Thanks

Haha no that was a sad attempt at an emotion. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit.

Using Windows 7 64 bit here too. That's just really strange. You've tried clearing out your BIN folder and everything too? I really wish I could find out what's causing this bug :/

When I run the file with java I see no changes to the game i am still using the texture pack I was using before I ran the .jar file and i can tell that the mods arn't working because I still have the original amount of maps that came with the vanilla version of the game.

    1. I deleted the version file
    2. Started minecraft, it automatically downloaded all the files again
    3. Ran your file with java
    4. Game starts up with the other window that says "Waiting for you to finish playing..."
    5. I notice no change to the original game play.

New Version Released! See if this one fixes your problem :smile.gif:

Well if the tool could be rewritten to not include the mods but to download them from the given url ONLY when someone chooses to use it (not written to just download every available mod) I wouldnt mind that so much as the download counts would be preserved. And honestly i have nothing against the quality of your tool. It looks very convenient to use. Its just i really think if someone really wants a feature they should be willing to put in a little mental effort to learn how to install it ESPECIALLY since editing jar files is no different that editing a zip file. Seriously people who cant edit a zip file dont deserve to touch a computer, much less the internet, much less an online game, much less want to MOD that game. Thats all. So the people are better served by being forced to get a little frustrated so they have to learn a new skill. its better for them in the long run.

You just nailed it. I'll talk with the developer for Minecrafter and see if we can get some sort of URL pull for the latest versions of the mods. It'd be great if it could replicate Torchleech for Torchlight if you've ever used that mod manager.

ahh, I have google chrome (which means open it or find it) and it opened in winrar. just tried to install it. these are the messages that i received towards the end:

waiting for you to stop playing

    cancel/stop

i had about 7 of these up and one that said it was opening minecraft etc that eventually turned into another "waiting for you to stop playing" i want to clarify that i was not on minecraft. this is probably the most basic tool on this site but please could you write a step by step for me?

    1) make sure minecraft is closed.
    2) run my file using java
    3) game should launch

If not, you may want to clean out your minecraft bin folder.
    Find that here: C:\Documents and Settings\(User Name)\Application Data\.minecraft

An easier way is to type in %appdata% in your start > search and navigate to .minecraft

Delete your "bin" folder, then launch minecraft normally, not using my app. After it downloads the bin files again, quit, then try my app again. Let me know how that goes.

We already have one index service thread and i would rather you only link to my thread and not include my mods prepackaged unless you are making significant coding changes (i include the src for that reason). I like having a reliable download count of people who actually want to USE a given mod with the exact feature sets i offer.

That aside i just honestly dont like auto packages as it dumbs down the level of the people using my stuff. I like people to have to learn a bit and really a jar is no harder to manipulate than a folder is so people SHOULD have to put in the effort to learn how they work if they want to do something like "modifying a game".

Gotcha. I'll take it out as soon as I can get back to my PC. Sorry for any trouble.

I understand your concerns and agree with you whole-heartedly. I just felt that some people may be frustrated with so many different mods clashing together and if they could have an all-in-one app it would ease the pain.

I'm just explaining myself here, not defending. I'll take your mods out asap.

Allowing for the circumstances (I'm an idiot with computers) can I ask how to install these into minecraft.do we drag and drop the .rar files into the tex. & mod folder in appdata?

No. You should be able to right-click on the file you downloaded and "open with" and select java. Let me know if that doesn't work.

If you don't get that option then just try double-clicking the file itself. It contains all the mods in it and it does not permanently modify your original minecraft. Every time you want to use the mods you'd have to run my file.
