Hey guys. So i finally ordered my passes for PAX East. Im just curious if anyone else is.
Im soooo friggin psyched for this. It will be my first PAX, infact it will be my first convention at all.
Just in-case you have not heard of pax east here is a description
"Created in 2004, PAX has doubled in size each successive year and has been hailed as a weekend-long celebration of gamer culture. Defining characteristics include game-inspired concerts, panels on game industry topics, exhibitor booths, after-hours parties, tournaments, and freeplay areas."
1. Deus Ex (the first)
2. Half Life 2(especially episode 2)
3. Elder Scrolls III Morrowind
4. Chrono Trigger
5. Unreal Tournament 99
6. Minecraft
7. Duke Nukem 3d
8. Halo: Combat Evolved
9. Spyro The Dragon
10. Amnesia The Dark Descent
I'm concerned about how you don't realise that it's their opinion, and it should be respected.
Im concerned you arent concerned that so many people put call of duty on their list.
if people start considering COD games some of the best ever made than thats the quality to which developers will aspire to. This will lead to the fall of the gaming industry. COD = mediocre franchise with a **** tone of money thrown at it.
ive been messing around with this mod and trying to impliment some sort of loop such a s afor loop and also a repeat statement. I get it to work no problem however eventually after running for maybe 3 seconds or soy an error comes up saying "Too long without yielding",
it seems the mod can only handle a repeating statement iterating only so many times before it has to close the program. Does anyone know how to fix this.
Id like to make it so that the program can be waiting for input indefinitely.
i found 2 endings, the one where you knock over the pylon things and whats his face blows up, and the one where you throw whats his head into the portal thing and than whats his face blows up.
I dont remember the absolute first but the first computer my family got had Blake Stone Aliens of gold, duke nukem 2, Duke nukem 3d, Wolfenstien 3d and commander keen. (all shareware). It was so much fun as like a 7 year old.
So i got a new computer and i wanted to try to set up a lan game of any kind however ive been having trouble. i hope you guys can help me with my situation
First off,
i got satellite internet, which means i have a dynamic IP---> not completely sure how that factors into my ability to play games on lan however i have a feeling its not good.
i got the internet going to a wireless router. One computer is hooked up to the router by either net the other is using wifi.
its a LinkSys E1200 Wireless-N Router, 2.3 ghz band, its also got 4 Ethernet ports i can use if i need to
I tried playing unreal tournament 99 on the network however there were really weird lag issues. both computers had 0 ping however there was just weird lag that's different than what ive always experienced.
I like the sound of impulse, however you should probably at-least have to enter a code for a game if you are installing from a CD.
I have a love/hate relationship with steam. I love that steam has so many awesome deals on games, however i HATE how disfunctional it is for me. I have satelite internet and probably about 40% to 60% of the time i simply CANT PLAY MY GAMES because it either wont connect or there's an update it has to download. Frankly Steam could negate all those problems by simply allowing people to play their games without steam running or some other simple solution along those lines.
Impulse sounds interesting but since ive never heard of it their probably arent that many games on it which completely negates the purpose of such software.
What annoys me the most is that the textures and such probably didnt start off being that resolution, they most likely start off at a higher resolution and were scaled down.
As far as effects like parralax occlusion, i dont know much about the process in which to impliment it into a full scale game however the parralax effect itself is based off a texture not a whole lot different than something like a normal map. it wouldnt have been all that much extra work int he grand scheme of things and it could have provided an amazing level of graphical quality to the game

its better than the whole computer section being a cluster **** of minecraft requirements threads. like 50% of the threads ive seen are these type.
