I'm back from a much-needed hiatus, and workin' on my texture pack again! As I said a while back, my newest update won't be out until I've textured EVERY entity, and have added RandoMob variants.

Anyway, since 1.8 seems to be nearing it's official release, I did all the new stone textures! I like them, although I may change them.

You may notice something, too... Yep. Got rid of my old smooth stone and made an entirely new stone; lighter, smoother, and stone-ier! This means Cobblestone and Stone Brick have been redone, too - however, that's not what this post is about.

    Take a look-see! -

Also, just as a teaser... a build I made on my school's whitelisted Survival Server (run by our band teacher) -

    ----

OH! Does anybody know anything about the new custom block models in the latest snapshot? I've seen posts on /r/minecraft over on reddit, but I just can't seem to wrap my head around how it works... Anyone got any info on it? Thanks in advance!

And i thought of another thing i want to start doing. Background elements by adding them onto plants through ctm. I've messed around with it before. Those weird pump-like animated things that occasionally spawn as a dead bush, and the elusive rose/poppy flamingo... I plan to add in random metal stuff here and there as extremely rare plant varients, just to add a few traces of past civilizations to the world, but i realized i could do more. So... i added some flies to the swamp by adding it into the random ctm for the tall grass. Observe:

Surprised nobody has said this yet, and I hate to be Devil's Advocate, but... Conquest (and packs supporting it's CTM, like myself and Matthew) has had flies and other "extra" blocks ctm'd onto Cobweb metadata for quite some time. *shrug*

I any case; great idea! Can't wait to see what other things you bring into your apocalyptic world!

So, this just happened for skins in the latest snapshot.

SUCH EXCITE. Updated my skin already!

Also, while I don't have pics to show it, Player Skulls (and Zombie and Skeleton Skulls) now bound the hat layer to themselves; no longer just the base head texture! EVEN MORE EXCITE.

Woah, zombies with skin scratched away to reveal flesh underneath are going to look way cooler now...

Took my idea, man! Haha, just kidding. I wonder if this applies to the pigman and zombie textures, also... Hmm... I'll look and get back to you guys on that. :3

Swamp biome specific weeping willows. They're actually oak trees, just... willows now. Swamp vines as well.

Murphy, I am impress. Haha, a part of me wants to do something like this now, gah... Must resist... unless it's okay with you... XD

Also, to those complaining about the new textures in the snapshot, and the overall use of "developer art"... we're texture artists for a reason aren't we? Minecraft is iconic for it's pixelated textures, among many other things. The new "smooth" variants for the new stones look amazing, albeit the actual stone textures look awful, especially next to stone... but of course, it is a snapshot and I'm sure the texture will change (assuming someone over on /r/Minecraft makes textures they like more; Mojang uses community textures a little more often than you'd probably think.)

    ----

So! I'm going to release v1.3 fo my pack once I complete all the mobs! Currently, I'm redoing the placeholder mob textures I made, and then I'm gonna move onto the untextured ones.

    First up - Skeleton:

I'm going to add variants, also, through the use of MCPatcher. Probably just one without a quiver on it's back, and eventually biome-specific ones. :3

We're back, everyone! Sorry about the thread being down, that was my fault and it (hopefully!) won't happen again.

    Anyway, update time! v1.2.1! ~

    Version 1.2.1

      Important -
    • I have reimagined various blocks, as their previous iterations were far too similar to the designs of a neighboring kingdom, the land of Chivalry. My apologies for the this page being down for so long; this won't happen again.
    • Blocks -
    • New Packed Ice w/ Vertical CTM!
    • New Ice! Matches the colors of my recently updated water!
    • Brand new Command Block!
    • New Reeds, because my old ones were outdated! New with Vertical CTM!
    • Conquest Compatibility in this Update -
    • Redstone Torches, Repeaters, and Comparators turn into trays and candles above y=60.

    Well, this sucks.

I uploaded Mist to PMC, in hopes of maybe having more traffic and more downloads for it, and my thread on the site here gets removed for "Stolen Content." Like, what? Before I released it I made sure everything in the pack was my own texture, 100%. I don't get this...

Has anybody else had this issue? Is there any way for this to be fixed?

Is it possible, when using random ctm, to make one specific tile cover all faces of the block when it is picked?

For some perspective, here's what i'm doing: My pack is steampunk-apocalyptic themed with a lot of surrealistic elements added in.

I want to make my redwood trees (biome specific spruce for whatever that biome with podzol is) well, i want these trees to have rusty metal rings around them occasionally covering up cracks, as though the tree split and the metal rings are bracing them back together. Of course, i don't want these appearing on every block that makes up the tree, that would just look bad. But very rarely appearing on a few trees here and there i think would be a nice touch.

Of course to make a metal ring around a tree with random ctm would require making that specific tile chosen effect all sides of the tree at once. Can i do it?

properties code "symmetry=all" will do the trick. :)

This'll make the selected tile show up on every face that uses the texture. So, in your case, the sides of the logs. Haha.

I need to know the names of all the new flowers, because I can't seem to find them in my minecraft.jar. Can anyone help me?

Every new double-tall flower starts with the prefix "double_plant," so... -
    • _fern_bottom/top.png
    • _grass_bottom/top.png
    • _paeonia_bottom/top.png (called Peony in-game.)
    • _rose_bottom/top.png (called Rose Bush in-game.)
    • _sunflower_back/front.png (This is the actual sunflower part, at the top. Haha.)
    • _sunflower_bottom/top.png (the stem of the sunflower.)
    • _syringa_bottom/top.png (called Lilac in-game)

Other new flowers (these have the prefix "flower"):
    • _allium.png (pink flower)
    • _blue_orchid.png
    • _dandelion.png (this should already be your "yellow flower." If the name doesn't match, change it to this, haha.)
    • _houstonia.png (called Azure Bluet in-game.)
    • _oxeye_daisy.png
    • _tulip_orange/red/pink/white.png

That's all the new flowers! Need the filenames of any other new 1.7 stuff? Lemme know. ^_^
