Here are some of the latest snapshot updates. Also, the stone textures have been tweaked to make them blend in with the environment and produce more usable building materials.

Spent the night/morning working on new textures. Subject to change, of course. I reorganised the resource packs on my Github to go more clearly by version, as well.

I'll be working on the new textures this weekend, hopefully I'll have something out by Monday or Tuesday.

On a side note, it seems the textures for compasses and clocks were changed yet again, and the cactus texture with the custom model has been broken...

The ugly chorus plants asides, I'm quite excited for this update.

This looks awesome! You're doing a fantastic job in continuing the development of Isabella II. I've always been a big fan of the look of Isabella II but always desired just a little more detail here and there and it looks like you're achieving this. ...Given that the OP doesn't seem to be actively developing this resource pack anymore I think you should consider taking over and starting your own thread. I'd say 'Officially' taking over but I doubt you'd get any permission since Srugs hasn't been seen since Jul 2014. GL and keep up the fantastic work!

Thanks but I am focusing on this as a branch for my server (so I've changed some things like foliage colours that people may not like). As long as Minecraft is updated I'll be updating the resources, as I've settled on these textures ever since Isabella II was released and can't come to fine anything else nearly as aesthetically pleasing. So that's why I say one is free to use any of my textures for a continuation of Isabella II as mine is more of a branch than that.

I worked on some flowers. I had them in as WIP textures for a while but I've finished them now. The original peony was a bit thick I thought so I made it look less like a succulent. I was the one who made the original rose shrub for the continuation and I didn't like it at all, so here is a better one. The lilac is less droopy than in the one in the continuation, and I cleaned up the base a bit. I also found a unused "paeonia" image in the pack that had 3 blossoms and had yellow centres, so I changed the poppy to be it but to have the same colours as the original poppy. Personally I like the more blossoms and think it looks more like a field of poppies than each one having a single blossom. The original single blossom texture is in the pack still if you want to switch them out.

    New flowers.

I updated my github to include the custom models (although I removed the upside down stair one).

They're in a separate pack though, so you don't have to have them if you don't like them (or if they cut your performance or anything of the sorts).

I've been playing around with making textures for existing models. Some things like fences and gates can be really cool with higher resolution packs, but what I'm really after is a vanilla Better Foliage implementation. :)

And I guess I never directly said it, but feel free to use any of the textures I made for this continuation.

i'll be the first to admit that i totally have no idea how to use github. could you upload it to media fire or something? i also have a mac smh so it's hard to get packs made for windows. i hate having a combination isabella/regular mine craft pack D:

If you just want to download the archive directly from the site, click on the archive in the file list, then click on View Raw and it will prompt you to download the .zip archive. The SuikaCraft Snapshot.zip is the one with the updated textures, the other one is the resource pack for my 1.7 Bukkit server.

You can even click Download ZIP on the right side of the page and it will give you an archive of the entire repository. One of the good things about using github for files is that the URL for the file will always be the same even when you push updates, so it makes it useful for links and server resource packs in-game.

Learning to clone from git is relatively easy, I'm sure there are even GUI applications to do so. You say you have a Mac and I assume just stock OS X on it, so this may be of help to you. https://mac.github.com/

I pushed an update because upon seeing the 1.8 release notes I realised that I had forgotten to make an endermite texture. I also added the lead knot texture because that was seemingly missing. https://github.com/yurisuika/SuikaCraft

Are there any plans to modify the Acacia and Dark Oak planks/leaves? All the other planks/leaves in the texture pack have unique textures, and the new textures seem out of place for that reason. I could understand the Dark Oak texture being a recolor of the normal oak texture, but the Acacia plank shouldn't look like the Jungle Planks. The leaves also are not unique. Otherwise, the textures look stellar.

I have thought of that myself, I never really liked the jungle planks texture and think it looks even worse on the acacia, so I may try and experiment with creating something new.

Will you be making any custom models for this continuation?

If this is at all directed to me, possibly but probably not. I've no experience with modelling and am not sure what the model files entail. If it is as simple as scripting geometries then perhaps I may give it a try, but if it requires making binaries in something like Maya then I most likely will not bother with it. Then again I am sure there are models out there for texture makers to use, so I may give it a go.

I think each individual door should look different in design instead of being the same door recolored.

I can appreciate your desire for uniqueness, but from an architectural standpoint (and the observed consistency of textures across related materials in Isabella) it doesn't make much sense.

The new doors in vanilla limit each wood-type to a specific genre of architecture because of their unique styles. The birch door looks like some washi and wood shōji, whilst the dark oak door appears very heavy and purposed to frame the entrance to the den where the Big Lebowski sits by the fireside (and where did the golden hardware come from?). The spruce door is off of a Norse stave church and the jungle and acacia doors could easily come from a British Colonial bungalow. These things come to mind by simply looking at the door, regardless of the colour of the wood.

Now, I understand that each wood-type has an inherent density and weight, but the stylings presented in vanilla far surpass the inherent hints to architectural style. Just because a concrete brutalist house has lovely antique hardwood flooring does not mean it has to have an antique-styled door using the same wood just because the wood was cut in 1930 and is far superior to any contemporary fast-grown timber (besides the aesthetics). Then again, a brutalist building would probably have a glass door. Come on, Notch!

Lastly, it is most clear that the planks do have different cuts, and I had attempted to incorporate that styling into the individual doors, but with the limited space of a 16px wide object it didn't appear any superior to just leaving them be. Perhaps a further attempt with entail a proper result, but 'til such a day I reckon these are sufficing.

Worked on the sprites, blocks, and mobs displayed here. I also added the force field as I had forgotten that.

Apparently when I made an account for BukkitDev it was a Curse account so I have a forums account as well, so I thought I'd post what I have.

I had previously made some textures for the continuation (and submitted them via email), and since 1.8 has been in progress, I have done so as well. I had forked Isabella II for my 1.7 server SuikaCraft and had changed a few blocks (acacia planks, red sand, etc) because I thought they were too saturated/contrasted in comparison to the rest of Isabella textures. Additionally, I had done mod support for various Optifine features (made CTM for all stained glass and reworked foliage colours for use with a biomes-related seasons plugin), and am currently working with Better Foliage textures.

When 1.8 snapshots had started to gain traction, I began working on various ones to supplement what had not been done for the continuation. I had changed the granite textures slightly than those ones done so far because I thought they seemed a bit plain, but other than that, everything new and not added so far has been my work. Some sprites have not gone beyond recolourings of vanilla textures because I've not thought of good sprites to make. Doors all have the same shape because I believe that the architectural style should not be limited by the choice of timber (unlike now in vanilla).

If any of these are deemed worthy of being used in the continuation, I'll submit them (I had already emailed Shrugs a few days ago but have not received a reply as of this time). So, here are the textures!
