What kinds of biomes are available in the world or will I have to settle for a plains or desert build? I'm looking for something exotic near enough that I wont feel cut off from the rest of the world... On the same note, was the world created as 1.13 with the robust oceans nearby or will the different oceans need searched for?
Most all biomes are available. The world border is roughly 6000 wide and most, if not all, biome types exist within our borders. There is plenty of space in all types of biomes to build.

The server was originally a private world for a small group of people. We have been playing on it since June of last year!
That being said, there is plenty of room for other players. The map is by no means crowded.
