I just got married a month ago, and starting up a new server.
and my wife has dsl internet atm... so for about a month, until I get uber fast internet and I'm able to host myself, I was interested to know if anyone else could run it for a short time.
Its a Bukkit server that runs with Bukkit GUI and its very large.

I'm currently hosting the server, except it can't have more than 5 people on at a time right now.

I have created a server and have added it to the Server list on the Minecraft Forums
It is posted, and it is online. I have several friends who are able to get on it.
It says when I look it up, that the server is not online, and says I can claim it.
When I click on the claim button, it gives me a code: 6E496E16-F3A8-41DE-9629-BDC0308D27FF'
and tells me to put it somewhere in my MoTD, I have put it in my MoTD, My friends who connect can see and have verified the number, and I have tried logging in multiple times both through Curse Client, Minecraft client, and Spout Client, and Have no problems seeing or connecting to the server with that MoTD.
My Question is, How do I claim my server, I see several other peoples servers who aren't claimed either, and they even have lots of players on them.

and I have currently 5 people playing on it on and off..
so it is working fine

nothing was lost as they are dumb greifers and assume vanilla servers dont back up

Thats why I'm starting this PURE VANILLA server. I'm looking for a good community of people who want to just play minecraft as notch has made it so far, with out having to wait a week for teh next bukkit update, or messing with outdated mods.
I'm not looking at any limit so far for players, I've got 4gbs to the server
So if your interested just feel free to connect, the server will be updated regularly to feign the Griefers
so if you must grief know your wasting you time on this server and should choose some vanilla server that will care.

Don't be a ****: pvp is allowed but should be kept outside of towns, if you attack people unsuspectingly know that you will burn in a fire and enuff doucheness could result in a ban

Griefers: Goes without saying, but ill say it anyways, permaban and lots of burning in fire, don't do it

I had this problem has happened to me before, and it has returned as mysteriously as it came.
I run a small private server on my computer for me and a few friends. We've built some pretty cool stuff on it. Now, for some odd reason, every single attempt to connect to it times out. every single one. even from my own computer that I'm sunning the server on.
I have checked every setting, restarted every piece of equipment. It is not the firewalls, it is not the port forwarding, not my router, there is absolutely no reason for the connection to time out, none.
I have tried everything, And I'm BEGGING someone to tell me why my server insists on pretending it doesn't work.
i had a problem before on my server that sounds similar to that,there was a time when half the people that would join would time the server out as they joined, my fix to the problem is i would delete their profile in my C:\Users\Ybron\Desktop\Vanilla SERVER\world\players folder.
i think this was because someone glitched the server when they tried to logout/login and it corrupted the spawn point for them self so when they tried rejoining it ruined the server for everyone, and everyone was timing out. MAKE SURE TO COPY UR PLAYER FOLDER B4 TRYING THIS THOUGH. although i don't know if this is the problem, may want to delete anyone who cannot connect, maybe try deleting ur player file first and see if you still time out the server.
problems with deleting their profile will delete all items they had currently on them, but will keep items that had been stored in chests. you can use an inventory editor like the one i use to see what items their corrupted player file had and re-add them to the new profile

Thats why I'm starting this PURE VANILLA server. I'm looking for a good community of people who want to just play minecraft as notch has made it so far, with out having to wait a week for teh next bukkit update, or messing with outdated mods.
I'm not looking at any limit so far for players, I've got 4gbs to the server
So if your interested please fill out an application, the server will be updated regularly to feign the Griefers
so if you must grief know your wasting you time on this server and should choose some vanilla server that will care.
The Rules:
Don't be a ****: pvp is allowed but should be kept outside of towns, if you attack people unsuspectingly know that you will burn in a fire and enuff doucheness could result in a ban
Don't Steal: Stealing is forbidden, being vanilla it cannot be stopped with mods, but taking an item without another players consent will result in ban if caught, and i CAN see your items out side of the game... so be warned
Griefers: Goes without saying, but ill say it anyways, permaban and lots of burning in fire, don't do it
Other Notes:
I don't have any specific direction for the server, just whatever you guys make it into, its YOUR server.
you can form groups, fight each other as long as you flag yourself for pvp, just gotta do it without mods, nether is enabled,
Earn my trust or invest enuff of your time in teh server, i may give you admin, this only means you will have kick/ban options, and can help protect the server from griefers. i had a problem before on my server that sounds similar to that,there was a time when half the people that would join would time the server out as they joined, my fix to the problem is i would delete their profile in my C:\Users\Ybron\Desktop\Vanilla SERVER\world\players folder.
i think this was because someone glitched the server when they tried to logout/login and it corrupted the spawn point for them self so when they tried rejoining it ruined the server for everyone, and everyone was timing out. MAKE SURE TO COPY UR PLAYER FOLDER B4 TRYING THIS THOUGH. although i don't know if this is the problem, may want to delete anyone who cannot connect, maybe try deleting ur player file first and see if you still time out the server.
problems with deleting their profile will delete all items they had currently on them, but will keep items that had been stored in chests. you can use an inventory editor like the one i use to see what items their corrupted player file had and re-add them to the new profile
