Yes, crazy how children jump the shark and overreact like that.

That's ironic since when it had become known that sprinting was being introduced with the beta 1.8 release on the PC, everybody was complaining that Minecraft was trying to become like CoD or Battlefield or other FPSs.

I would agree. On the note of pulling things forward from another update (apples from trees), I don't understand why 4j didn't pull forward teleportation with Ender Pearls. They should have either done that or removed them from dropping from Endermen. On the note of Endermen, they don't make their teleportation sounds and they're pretty weak, even without armor. But that's how it was on the initial PC beta 1.8 release, so I guess that's a thing. At lease they don't sound like zombies.

posted a message on Transferring Items Between Worlds
To put it simply; Everything that happens in a game is saved with the map. Everything. The world, the mobs, the items, the players, everything.

Think of every player on every world as a completely different person, regardless if someone plays on different maps.

    Everything is saved per world.

The same goes for the PC version. Just because 1.3 had single and multiplayer merged doesn't mean anything has changed. There are programs that let you see and edit what players have in their inventory the last time they were connected (by looking at the player data that was saved with the world), but they can't bring anything with them anywhere outside of that specific map.

posted a message on What do you hate the most about 360 edition?
Specifically the 360 version? All of the sound issues that nobody seems to ever mention. Things like not being able to hear ghasts, thus making them better at creeping than creepers. The walking sounds being behind the player and sounding out of phase. Same thing applies when punching down a tree and hearing the sounds behind/underneath you rather than in front.

posted a message on 1.7.3/1.8.2 Clashing Terrain Possibilities
The fix for people who generate worlds now in the hopes of bypassing the terrain in the coming update is to not only generate a world, but to explore it as well. Just create a world, pull out your map and run around until the map is entirely revealed. All of the chunks will be generated and saved and won't be affected by the harsh chunk borders from importing old worlds. (the obvious way of knowing this is the current lag the game experiences when generating new terrain but not when exploring already explored areas) Just throw away the map and you'll be set. Of course, that won't solve the issue of climate change. Personally I wouldn't mind having my current snow-less world suddenly experience an eternal winter.

posted a message on portal issue, pigmen went crazy!
That happens sometimes with portals. I'm not sure why, but breaking the new portal and repairing, re-igniting, and re-using the old one might fix the issue.
And pigmen are neutral unless you attack one, then all the pigmen in the vicinity will retaliate.

    Quote from Kepas_Beleglorn

Well, in the past I always used the LB RPG Photo Realism pack. Now I've tried this one, and I love it. Is there a chance this texturepack will become availöable in higher resolutions? 128? 256? or even 512? I'd love to get those!

Pixel art ceases to be pixel art as more and more pixels are introduced. So that's unlikely. On the contrary, I'd like to see Levaunt make a 16x pack in the same dark style. (because adapting this one would lose a lot in translation)

There's a good chance that this is a patcher issue, but does anyone else's gravel appear blue when it is falling?

I've never heard of that happening. I'm using the current Optifine for 1.3.1 and it's fine for me.

posted a message on I fear everything after 1.2.5 will be a slow spiral into disapointment
Complaining about a game that is in continued development is a vicious, never ending cycle.

Holes are patched, bugs are fixed, features are added, bugs are introduced, holes are opened up, etc. The user gets attached to the game at the state that they were introduced and anything that comes after is a hit or miss.

I feel like his priorities have become very strayed from what minecraft actually needs right now.

And what would that be? I can assure you that the people developing the game may have a different opinion on what their game actually needs.

Another thing; their eyes are normal looking while standard zombies have all black eyes. That weirds me out more than their steve clothes and unfolded arms.

posted a message on How Do I Restore Default Texture?
    Quote from tlw62

Did anyone get around this problem? I'm stuck with the Halo texture as I accidentally replaced the default a while back. I'm on a Mac. Unpatch on mcpatcher doesn't work, force update in options doesn't work, trashing the bin doesn't work, I always get the Halo texture every time I open minecraft.

Would really like to know if someone has the solution. Thanks!

    Absolutely nothing works?
I'm not sure where to locate the .minecraft folder on a mac, but if you know where it is then just delete the whole thing and re-download minecraft fresh. If you placed it in your minecraft.jar file, then force updating should fix it. If it doesn't then I don't know what kind of black magic your computer is possessed with.

I'm not sure why they didn't replace the steve cloths with the villager robes and give it black eyes. That's the first thing I noticed. Jeb was probably in a hurry, but it's a simple texture thing.

aww sad face, do i have to uninstall optifine for mcpatcher to work?

Yes. However, you can use mcpatcher to install optifine the same way as other mods, but you need to leave out a few class files so they won't conflict. Check the optifine OP to see which ones.

So it reduces the spawn rate for all ore by half? That seems like an interesting thing to play with. Although, I have a hard enough time finding diamond. Is there or will there be a config file? Something that allows to change the spawn rate manually. I'd be fine with coal, redstone, and iron being halved, but keeping gold, diamond and emeralds the same.
