I picked 2)Knock down trees, make wood, make a small house

But I built a fort instead of a small house, so sometimes spiders would climb over the walls when the mobs siege me at night. Only advantage of this method is that it is cheaper. You don't have to build a roof, so you spend less time gathering the resources to do it. That time could be spent on making your first batch of tools, or even making a small farm so you won't starve after surviving your first day or so.

I built a bunker with half-block slits serving as protective windows for me to fire from. The only openings bigger than that are 1 block holes for levers that would power the iron door to my bunker.

I was in the basement and I came up to ground level, only to get bum-rushed by a baby zombie.

I wonder if you've taken advantage of baby zombies somehow? If not, ti would be awesome that they can dig too. They're one block tall, so they don't need to dig as much. Also, why not make it so that they could squeeze through a half-block space? :D

Now imagine a whole bunch of them coming through the slits in your fort :D In fact, why not make it so that sometimes a whole group of baby zombies would spawn?

It's fine though I did have a little bit of a laugh at the irony of "I can live without Epic Siege Mod" :P

Ah I see it now lol... I can DEFINITELY live without Epic Siege Mod :D

    Good job, man :D

I do have a half done build for 1.10 already but I can only work on it between Uni assignments so development is slow. I assure you it's coming though.

Aw, I didn't mean to rush you! :D Take it slow man. I've just returned to Minecraft and I can live without Epic Siege Mod for a while. Thanks for working on this!

Does this mod work on 1.10? I loved this mod back then. I think it's a shame it's not being updated anymore.

Just so you guys know, this server sure isn't exaggerating about their good ping. I'm from Singapore and it connects just fine. Very little if not non-existent block lag. Makes fighting and creepers and everything as easy/tough as it should be. I'm now having a blast in their server. Wish there's even more people, so join up!

Why would you like to join Dawnstar? I would like to go back to the Minecrafting experience, back when I was younger, and from the looks of it, this is the best place to do it as ping was a big problem in the past. I live in Singapore, so if ping's good even in the US, then it should be fine here. The idea of a small community always works too. When a group gets too big too quickly, a lot of negative things can happen. I'd like to avoid that.

How much time do you think you would be playing? I'll probably be playing a few days a week. I'll start slow first, and if I find that I could get back into Minecraft again, I might be logging in every day.

What is one of your strong points in minecraft? I've seen the worse and I've seen the best. I'll avoid the worse and promote the best. In my play, I focus on survival, teamwork and progress, so I tend to build towards that - bunkers, emergency shelters, ration warehouses, armouries... You name it, I'll build it. For the community.

I tend to be very organised with my stuff. I do things step-by-step, and I make sure I'm methodical, so expect a lot of official-looking things sprouting up :)

What is your In Game Name? xbriannova.

posted a message on We were all noobs once. What is your minecraft noob story?
I started with the demo on the website. Got a free chest of goods including an axe. I started chopping down trees and when the axe broke I used a stick in the box, thinking for a while that it speeds up the process.

I didn't know there was such a thing as a crafting bench, and I didn't know you could craft anything beyond wooden planks, so I didn't know about pickaxes and dug into stone barehanded and wondering why I can't collect stone blocks and accepted it as fact. That said, I took like 10 minutes or more to dig through the stone in front of my pathetic 2x1 planks wall to form a ditch. I tried to fill it with water by digging it all the way to a nearby ocean like in real life. Turns out water could only go so far. I wad utterly confused back then.

In my second game in the demo I knew a little better about crafting after reading the wiki a bit. It launched me into the stone age. I built a wooden fort on top of a hill, flattened the peak and mined coal in the process. Got torches. I got over confident and rushed an enderman with nothing but a stone sword. I lost. Should have taken the hint when it freaked out when I looked at it. For a moment it scared me when it strolled up my stairs up the hill, and when it freaked out. Should have remained scared.

posted a message on How valuable do you consider emeralds?
I voted equivalent to gold. Sure, they have limited uses and could benefit from an upgrade, but there is a use for it nonetheless. I used to run a village and I expanded on it until it was pretty large. Needless to say, it was an opportunity for me to become a business mogul, trading in wheat and other easily obtained commodities and then buying other stuff, or simply just growing my store of emeralds for the future, or just because I want to.

posted a message on Scariest Minecraft Map Ever?
Being a horror veteran, all it did to me was to make me tense abut. Caught me off guard with the first herobrine, but it was largely just the sound effect. That's still saying something about this map though, because they have little to work with from the beginning. If they could put a horror veteran on his guard with blocks, I'd say it's pure ingenious right there

I pity Mojang. Here, they have created a game that made a mark on gaming history. They continued to update it throughout the years, another achievement few other developers could claim to have made, though in recent years have become standard industry practice with the number of indie games. Then here their fans decided to bite the hand that feeds them, and complain for nothing. Adding beds? 'Go home Mojang! You destroyed the game!' New flowers! 'Go home Mojang! You destroyed the game!'

The only thing I feel Mojang and/or Jeb/Dinnerbone is guilty of is that their target audience is extremely broad and inclusive of self-entitled kids, big babies, princes and princesses.

If you want minecraft to stay how it was, take the hint and use the time machine feature/mod.

Mojang is not perfect, don't get me wrong there. They can make mistakes and they can make the wrong decisions. But this is not one of them.
