Not bad. I say, try to blend the colors, to make it look like it has shading. You have potential to be a good skin artist, just need to work on it with shading.

You can just NOT update, and stop complaining about progress
Get TooManyItems, spawn flint and steel, light nether portal, through the flint and steel in lava, get into overworld, leave the game, refresh bin, go back in enjoy mod-free minecraft.
