I would use MEGA over MediaFire. Why? Download/upload speeds are better... AND while MediaFire gives you 10 free GB, MEGA gives you 50GB free! Which is better?

1.7 changed thousands of lines of code forcing mod makers to figure out how they are connected. 1.7.4 also added very little in terms of features, the twitch streaming may not have seemed a priority and chicken jockeys aren't important. And the ability to switch back to 1.7.2 at any time really cancels the need for a 1.7.4 version of TMI.
I know that, but the 1.7.2 version was released a couple days after the update... it's been about 1/2 weeks since 1.7.4. Your argument is invalid.
I understand that it's Christmas, too... but the version for 1.7.2 came out like 2 or 3 days after the release...why is this taking so long, and same with MCP, which Forge and Optifine rely on..?
Not sure if anyone else is having this prob., but with the forge version on 1.6.4, my friends and I can only see Optifine capes. Not sure why this is.... I'm on a Mac, and their on PCs, so it's not just my computer. An update would be appreciated. Thx
With mods and things, guys, the OptiFine B4 builds (with Forge) require Forge .789. Look for it in the builds. And you must put the files in the forge.jar, not in the mods folder. And DONT COPY the .jar like you do with modloader. Now for PC users, this is a breeze with 7z or WINrar.
(MAC ONLY FORWARD) Now.. for us Mac users (I am), with Modloader, you would copy, rename .jar to .zip, open it up, drag it in, compress all files, rename and drag it out, and delete the folder with out Optifine. For the forge.jar.... this doesn't work. Now, as of Aug 18, 2013, there us no way to do this unless you have a PC and a USB stick. Found this out after about 3 hours of crashes. I was able to drag forge.jar onto the stick, and to a Vista laptop with 7z on it. (If you use Bootcamp for a PC, your good as well.) You must open it with WINrar or 7z on that Windows computer, drag the files in, and delete the META-INF AFTER!! Then, put it back on the stick, delete the original forge.jar, and then open Minecraft. Select the Forge profile, sign in, and you should have OptiFine.
Hope this helps guys.
Hello.
This is my second map, so it kind of sucks.
Anyway, this map is called Sand Fall. If you are familiar with Achievement Hunter, you will
know that all I did was remake Hot Foot. All credit goes to them. If you have no idea who they are,
search Things to do in Minecraft: Hot Foot in YouTube. My remake is a 2-4 player map (it can be more, but thats recommended if you have a crappy computer (like me). It can be played on a Bukkit server, but if you use Essentials, like me, it will need to be disabled. NOT DELETED, DISABLED! Thanks, and leave feed back on this map.
Lolwut?
All those mods except optifine need modloader.
I know!!! But look, ( http://imgur.com/CWTqHvb ), and I promise that everything runs fine!!! You can't have more then 4 mods though, atlest on a stock MAcBook Pro. And, one has to be Optifine, but you can still run your most loved, used, or essential mods with OPtifine and Magic Launcher (until Risu updates, you can have a few on there)
Marglyph, I found that with Magic Launcher WITHOUT Forge or modloader, you can run Optifine, Too many items, Rei's Minimap, and Bettersprinting with it all working BETTER then with Forge or manually installing it. Hope this helps, and keep up the good work on this mod
sp614x, you are awesome, really. Been using since I got the game (1.4.7) and it's helped my stock MacBook Pro really run the game without overheating. But now, since it's extremely hard to install mods on Mac without Forge, please make a forge compatible version. It would help a lot of people out. I know that 1.6.2 just came out, and since the magic launcher hates 1.6.2 on Mac, please put on your to-do list. Thanks.
lol, tell me about it. Without forge it doesn't start and states 1 error. Installing forge it just quits without errors. They've clearly changed something fundamental with 6.2 that mod devs have overlooked.
The only mod I even care about is the minimap because I can't stand messing around creating dirt beacons just to have some minor inkling of where the hell I am.
I know right!!! I used Forge with this mod, Too many items, and Bettersprint. Was waitin for Optifine, but Mojang screwed everbody over on this one
I think that they should let people figure things out before they change things. I just figured out how to mod 1.6.1 (with/without Forge) and now, if your right, they changed it again!
So it doesn't need forge or modloader at all? I ask because since 1.6.2 update it's been an absolute nightmare trying to install forge. The way Mojang changed things has made installing mods a lot more complex with way more busywork. I don't like it.
Dinnerbone, Jeb and all others working on Minecraft. For the love of god create a working mod framework for Minecraft so we can install mods as-is into a single mods folder or whatever without having to modify the .jar. :/
Well, I guess I'll try once again to get the minimap working again lol
**update**
RAAAAAAAAGGGE!!!11!!!1! -.-
Tried installing it using the well publicised method for installing mods since 1.6 and Minecraft won't even launch!!! Never seemed to have this issue before 1.6.2! I'm about set to quit Minecraft all together if I don't get it sorted soon. -.-
I know. I got the latest version of Forge today, and it installs. Then the game doesn't start. I look in the log, and it says game quit with no errors!!!!!!
