    you know chihuahuas dogs,pet pigs,pet bunnies.cats.

have a limited growth gene. but that one came on either from labs or they adapted to small enviroments or by selective breeding.

most people want smaller animals as pets.

i looked it up it's igf1 and it only occurs in mammals.

Limiting the growth gene making them unable to grow anymore and keep the size of a baby?

    Brilliant!

That's not how growth works. You can't just microscopisizeTM an elephant to the size of a housecat by growing it from the cell stage.

how do you think i should approach this then?

Trust me, once the YouTubers sink their teeth into JC II the masses will flock to us like carrion birds to a sunbaked corpse. Also, many of the big mods like Thaumcraft, Tinker's Construct, and the others already stated all have their sights on 1.8, so it is best to set our sights on the future.

JC II will give the other moderaters nightmares

Ooh, that sounds nice. Perhaps the research system could be a little bit like Thaumcraft's?

A whole planet is excessive and a bit of a stretch. A biome, though, would be a nice addition. By terraforming a very large area to recreate conditions from a certain time period and the habitats of certain animals, one could have prehistoric animals in their 'natural' habitats. This could play into the research system, unlocking certain things by observing different behaviors. This could also play into and expand on Doppelganger, that byootiful idea the glorious Archbishop thought up.

that planet idea was actually for irl. and it would only be smaller than a small 2 story house

The Archbishop is honored that you would seek his opinion. As for your block suggestion, the Archbishop thinks that it would be a great addition to the mod, but he would like to expand upon the idea. Before I expand upon the idea, I would like to establish mechanics regarding the reviving of mammals. Sheep, cows, and pigs can be used as surrogate parents for an offspring, but the offspring will have many adverse side effects. Offspring born would have the large chance to be born with a disease, suffer from abnormal behavior, be unable to be tamed/ridden, reduced stats, etc. Unfortunately for a player, these effects will be something that will have to be tolerated, but as they study these offspring and uncover more about its genetics it will unlock further tech. The artificial womb block would be considered a "late game tech" block, which would allow the player to have 100% genetic control of the embryo housed within. Animals born from the artificial womb would not suffer from any of the complications of surrogacy, and would have any added strengths the player chose for the organism while in the artificial womb.

yes my comrade! excellent! also off topic from the mod but i have an idea. what if we could create an artificial planet, about the size of a house or smaller, and we caused evolution on the man made planet. maybe this could be how we could achieve getting prehistoric animals. this would also be perfect for studying actual evolution and may lead to new and amazing species!

All this talk about I.Rex foster parents reminds the Archbishop of his tangent awhile back about if Indominus should be raised by tyrannosaur family or a velociraptor pack. Imprinting could definitely be possible, but as for the gratitude concept, very unlikely (say no to anthropomorphism!). To make short of a very long tangent, the Archbishop doesn't think a Indominus hatchling would turn on it's tyrannosaur caretakers.

Original Rant for those who do not value their sanity :P Warning, the following also has spoilers from Jurassic World.

Her base genetic structure is a Tyrannosaur, and in the second film they have been shown to be excellent parents for their offspring. Additionally, if she were to become unruly the Tyrannosaur parents could handle her, where as a raptor pack could be overwhelmed. Her cannibalistic nature towards offspring would also be negated as the Tyrannosaurs seem to only nurture one child (that, or the child Tyrannosaur in the second film ate her siblings, in which case a perfect match!). Raptors have multiple clutches of offspring, all close together. I don't think the pack would be very forgiving of a single offspring consuming the rest of the pack's offspring. The only monkey wrench in this theory would be her behavior towards the raptors. Instead of mindlessly eating them, she reached out and communicated with them, and managed to trump years of training with humans in a matter of seconds... all without violence (which normally is how the pack finds and maintains an alpha, case and point Blue/Echo). When Rexy and the Indominus interact within the film, she does not attempt to communicate with Rexy, but instead the two engage in hostilities. However, this could be written off as the two animals engaging over the territory dispute, as Rexy is very old and would be very aggressive to any younger members of her species(/any similarly shaped animal). Should they be raised together I'm sure this would not be the case. As for intelligence, Tyrannosaurs may not be as crafty as the raptors, but Rexy did exhibit some intelligence when she spared Blue's life. While certainly not as impressive as the Indominus' cunning, they wouldn't be left in the dust in terms of intelligence. To conclude this tangent, I think surrogate Tyrannosaur parents would better than surrogate raptor parents.

i remembered that rant when writing that comment,i was actually that brought up the topic. and that gratitude concept was actually in jw. when rexy and blue were done fighting i.rex, you could pretty much see that rexy was grateful for blue's help

I think a T-Rex irl would raise the I-Rex, but the question is will the I-Rex try to kill it's parents?

i personally think that it won't because it would have some sort of gratitude for raising or have sort of a bond due to being raised by the t-rex. heck, the irex may have actually imprinted on the trex

question, will you be able have a t.rex act as foster parent to indominus. say if you an indominus egg into the nest of a trex. will it actually raise the baby indominus or just kill it?would this result in a less agressive indominus as a result?
