The only issue I can see with having Snow Golems replacing Iron Golems is that Iron ones are the only defense of the villagers on hard mode. Snow Golems wouldn't fulfill the same role, since they only damage "hot mobs." Maybe there could be some sort of "frozen Golem" that's encrusted with snow and ice.
I'd just like to say that, although this is a wishlist, I could get behind the idea of some sort of lightning rod, since it so rarely comes near enough to my house to be relevant.
I like this idea. It would be a good trifecta, with you being able to find a village in three of the most common biomes. Maybe it could have one or two unique aspects as well, like occasionally hosting some snow golems or having ice wells.
Why are so much people not liking this? This is an AMAZING idea with tons of thought and hard work put into it! The nether would need this cause 1. Not EVERY mob in the nether should A. Burn you to ashes or B. swarm in armys and bash you to death with gold swords! 2. The Nether is a large place unlike the end! Yet its once you get blaze powder and wither materials, it become useless and forgotten. These new structures/mobs could have people going to the Nether frequently for these N. villagers! P.S: Can you explain the blood diamond and how to obtain it? P.S.S: Iron ingots? I don't think those exist. (sorry if its in 1.9, i'm not 100% sure of all the 1.9 additions.) P.S.S.S: Im kinda dumb, how do I do signatues?
The Ender is getting updated in 1.9 to be infinite.
Also, you go to your profile page, use "edit profile", and at the bottom of the page should be a large white typing box labeled "Signature." Save your changes to it when you are finished, and you're done.
I feel like Nether Villages should mirror the Overworld villages. I wouldn't be averse to them having some uniqueness in building type or species, or even items present, but these specializations seem to be way too over the top. Good as a mod, I think, but I wouldn't support it for vanilla.
I actually think this would be a pretty neat thing as far as immersion goes.
The first one seems the best one immersion-wise, but possibly make it not available unless you're on surface level or beyond? That'd prevent accidentally being rescued by villagers when you die while exploring a large cave system.
I didn't think of that.
I also didn't think about how height would come into play. Or how it would work when you were in an arctic biome. Maybe this begs for an Eskimo village?
Say you've started a new game. You start your mining, you find some iron, make a nice little hovel, and everything's going smoothly.
After succumbing to wanderlust after a long time, you come to a desert. You enter a mysterious temple and, unknowing of the dangers that lurk within, your face becomes utterly nommed by a vicious spider. Quite simple. You didn't have a bed with you in your travels, so, tough luck? Well, if this is added, perhaps not so tough. Should you be within the reasonable vicinity of a villager settlement, you would respawn with (perhaps; this is not the main idea) some food at the nearest village. The "rescue radius" would have to be quite big in order to be effective, but if implemented, I think that this could provide a major boon to the usefulness of a village.
Another idea I had was that you could automatically respawn at (provided you haven't crafted a bed yet) the last village you found and visited. This wouldn't make sense in-universe wise, but it might be more helpful as far as gameplay goes. I would be in support of the first form, but I felt that this might be worth noting.
Do support. This would be a great way to make Lilly-pads more accessible in survival. Also, since he carries around the roses, maybe he could be seen as the "liaison" between the villagers and golems. In that capacity he could be given special priority in their AI, so that they could rush directly to his aid if his house is being attacked by zombies, and they could "stand guard" at certain periods of the day around the structure.
EDIT: Aaaand it's a necropost. Gordon and Batman apologize for the disturbance.
In that case, I still don't think full support. It comes off as unnecessary, and the current models are androgynous enough as it is. Not entirely, as the regular zombie does seem quite male. Perhaps they could add a more lithe figure, with less bulky appendages.
This is, uh... I don't... wow. I don't know what to really think.
See, the main problem I have with this is continuity. You go from a nether level to a... mutation level? Wait, I have a better idea.
I support all the normal levels, as well as the drop level, lava level, deep world level, abandoned cave level, and the forgotten level. Those things are cool as all heck. But allow me to elaborate as to why I don't support the various others.
I don't really support the implementation of new currencies for villagers. They're such a simple society, I don't really see why they would need more than one unit of exchange. Therefore, the crystal level I do not dig.
The void isn't really something I support as a gameplay element. It's something you're never really supposed to find, since it's the bottom of the world where chunks no longer load. Therefore, any stage based solely on the addition of the void, I wouldn't support.
The nether level and the level where you can hear the ender dragon I don't agree with only because I always considered them alternate dimensions, and it seems odd to have one below the other.
Lastly, deep world, darkness, compressed, bedrock planes evil and mutation all just come off as unnecessary. There's just not enough reason to have them, other than to introduce new items and mobs.
As a concept, overall, I support this, but I would advise a bit of trimming in the area of what zones are truly necessary and which ones are not.

That freezer idea sound cool.

I sat that you couldn't move in wooden armour. Also, we have leather. No support
Wooden plates, maybe? The only situation I can see this being useful is one in which you have no cowherds nearby, though.

I held it as naturally generated villages. The whole point is to give the real ones more form and dept.

Cosmetically, I think a lot of people would like this. Support.

That was an afterthought. The jist of it is you spawning at a village if you are within a certain radius of it.
Edit: Thanks for that.

Just a quick idea that popped into my head.

That's... quite decent, actually. Creative.
Good mind you have, there.

So female zombies, essentially. Thanks for that.
