It can make the coconuts easier to find, especially if you are not a great climber like me. But it causes damage if you get hit, or attacked by one. There is also only one animal assigned to the jungle and that is the ocelot which you don't see a lot of. It will add a little variety. If not monkeys,than large snakes.
I know that you can come across some awesome cave entrances or even abandoned mines on the ocean floor. I like to sail over the ocean in a boat at night and look for lava glowing to indicate that something may be there.
The problem is, that when it is deep, there Is no way I can get down there, figure my way into the entrance, and get back to the surface if there is none, before running out of air.
So I am exploring this huge abandoned mine. Been going around for days ( I clear everything out so it takes me awhile)
but I came across a second dirt room. Been through at least 6 spiders spawners. I am thinking this is two mine areas next to each other, or can they have more than one dirt room?
I don't know the frequency of mineshafts occurring, is it possible that two are plopped down next too each other?
Also, silly noob question I should know, but are there random mobs generated or are the only mobs from spawners? meaning there are spawners nearby if I come across a mob?
Leaving explored chests drives me nuts! Just destroy them. I finally figured out one person hasn't touched the mine, used night vision, and rushed through and ransacked some of the chests. (unless a lot of the chests have junk in them) but I found a hall someone dug so people have been there.
I agree there could be more uses for gold. But I think the most important use is the golden apples and carrots, not only for your use but to breed horses.
So I play on a vanilla survival server and I am currently exploring an abandoned mine. Only a branch or two of the mine has been explored, a lazy player who ran down to the lower levels to look for diamonds.
When I explore a mine, it takes me days, I clean it out, take everything, stockpile, and remove hanging blocks and the wood frames.
But since this is a server and many people may come across this mine, would you consider it rude if I cleaned out the whole entire mine to leave nothing for anyone else to explore?
Should I leave the wooden frames, and leave it like it is, and just take the goods I come across? I do take any chests with me because there is nothing worse then discovering a chest to find nothing in it. It is a major let down, lol.

I had to look up what SMP meant. I like the comraderie and helping each other out. And survival creates situations to help each other out. And just being around others while playing is nice in general.
Least favorite aspect of SMP:
I agree with the other guy, not being able to teleport.
Floating islands. I don't care what is on them, but you have to figure out how to get from one to the other, with little flying dragons that attack you.
Normaly i play on Normal or Easy. Hard is actualy too hard for me. Im serious. the game will spawn creepers like EVERYWHERE even in lit up places. Peaceful should be taken out of the game. If you cant handle monsters or dieing play Creative.

I have never been able to get a respiration enchantment. If you have any advice, that would be great. Is there a breathing potion?
