If I am on my realm and switch to a different virtual desktop, when I return to the app, I've been disconnected from the realm and I have to reconnect. This is annoying if I just want to pop over to another virtual desktop to check email that I have to re-connect every time.
I've constructed a very long sidewalk + powered minecart track one block above a large expanse of water. Practically every time I take the minecart across the water, I get automatically teleported into a nearby boat. These boats are just floating around randomly in the water. Each time, I move the boat near the track, jump onto the track, then sink the boat thinking I can clear the alley so to speak. I'm still not able to cross without getting teleported into a boat. Any way to stop this? Thanks.
The MCPE video above shows that to combine a map and a compass I need an anvil but this is not the case for MCWIN10. I guess in my haste I tried to combine an empty map and a compass in the crafting table but nothing worked. I think I needed to view the map first before trying to combine it to the compass was the key to getting my location to appear on the map. Thanks for your help!
Here's an MCPE (applicable to Windows 10 also) introduction to maps that I found very useful. NOTE: you don't need an anvil to combine a map and a compass in MCWIN10.
Okay TSABER has the answer. I don't have experience with the Java version of Minecraft so looking at my map was never something I've ever done. An empty map is a map! Put it into my inventory bar, select it, and right-click. The map appears! Then using my compass (in inventory somewhere) will get me to where I want to go. Thanks and sorry for the confusion.
Thanks for the help. I created an empty map. I'm trying to combine with compass and tried several arrangements in the crafting table and in the "inventory" crafting area but still no map. Any particular locations for the empty map and compass?
Hi I fired up the 0.14 update tonight on Windows 10 and tried to craft a map with 8 papers and a compass, but nothing was created. I thought the Redstone update (0.14) included map crafting. Anyone else have problems with this?

Can you provide a link to the JIRA ticket? I cannot locate any JIRA ticket related to "Virtual Desktop" TIA
