I'm not positive with the PE version, but typically you make a copy of the world you're interested from the Minecraft folder to your computer. Then copy it back to the same folder after you reinstall MC on your device.
On Bedrock if I find an active village (even with a golem), they are usually all dead the next time I visit that village. The villages are nowhere near my main base. It's gotten to where I block villagers in their houses if I think I might want to use that village in the future.
On Java, I've got villages that I've visited dozens of times that don't lose villagers even without any kind of protective perimeters.
I was riding a strider through a lava field when it 'got stuck' and wouldn't respond to my fungus stick or movement keys. Anyone have this happen or know how to get it unstuck?
My biggest loss was when a creeper got into my base without me seeing him. He blew me up along with six chests of my valuables. I lost about half of it permanently when it despawned.
I was in shock for a while, but I learned from the mistake and carried on.
I like level 3 for exploring the surrounding area. I tried level 4 but it shows so little detail I can't even tell where rivers are or what the biome is.
If you don't want to run a server I think you would need to store the latest world file on the USB manually and copy it back and forth to the various computers.
So play on computer A - when finished copy the world to the router USB.
When want to play on computer B - copy the file from the router USB to computer B minecraft world directory. Copy back to USB when finished playing.
I ended up building a simple creeper farm near my base at ground level so it would be convienent and frequently active. Drop rate was very low unless I used an AFK spot way up a scaffold. So I went looking for caves and found I had build on top of a massive cave network that included an underground cavern. 5 stacks of torches later I decided it was good enough.
There's one portal per ender dragon from the main island to the outer islands - but there are lots of end gateways from the outer islands back to the main island.

Playing MC without using waypoints/teleportation and automapping mods makes a big difference in the way the game plays.

Very odd. Is your graphics card driver up to date?

Anyone else have this experience?

Until someone gives you a definite response, you should be able to determine your answer from this page: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Enchanting_mechanics

If you want 'extended' Minecraft you're probably best off getting the Java version and experimenting with Modpacks like FTB.

You know you don't have to get the Java version, right? If you do want it - you'll have to buy it.

Try a desert village - mine has lots of cats.

Close to your home base or further away? At ground level or dig down to try to maximize spawn rate?
Asking because I'm about to build a creeper farm so I can have plenty of fuel for an elytra.
