Hey y'all, sorry for not replying sooner. These forums aren't nearly as active as the mod's pages on Curseforge and Reddit so I check here less often.

Hi, I have 2 questions. My first one is if you have made any other mods similar to beyond the veil, because this is one of the best mods I have ever played, and I have played a lot. My second question is how do I make a pathway sigil because I can not figure it out. Have a great day.

Thanks for the appreciation! I don't nearly play many mods nowadays, so it's hard to say. If you're looking for ones with a similar setting (that is, Lovecraftian) I believe Abyssalcraft and Miskatonic Mysteries both verge in that direction. If you're looking for mods that are structured in a similar way (in terms of progression, player powers etc.) I can say that BTV was strongly inspired by Witchery and Thaumcraft.

Uuh I lost the Al Azif can you help me?

Thank you Have a great day

Hey there! Al Azif can be recrafted in a normal crafting bench: put one Eye of the Ender at the center, then surround it with 8 Paper. Hope this helps!

Beyond The Veil is a tale about the Player themselves, about their journey towards Truth.

Through Knowledge comes Power, of course, and as the Player learns more about the occult, new branches of magic and science open up. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes macabre, but you'll get used to it.

Every research entry in Beyond The Veil is intertwined with narration, and as of the first release of the mod the story converges on a central setpiece: the Fishing Hamlet, a semi-rare structure generated in the blackest biomes of the Overworld. The Dwellers there have a murky past, full of tightly kept secrets.

    A Fishing Hamlet

Among the several aspects of the occult, an earnest Seeker of Truth may encounter:

    • The art of Dreaming, and its implications.
    • Unseen kinds of flora, certainly not of this world.
    • Surgery, performed on more or less willing subjects.
    • The crafting and seeking of Baubles and other artifacts, that may aid one in their journey.
    • The practice of handling blood, and creating links with it.
    • Gathering worshippers, to become a sort of deity.
    • Becoming a worshipper yourself, to appease your own God.
    • Through devotion, become Deep.
    • The making of city builders, aeons old. A servant race, yet very dangerous.

Due to the story driven, spoiler heavy style of BTV, it is encouraged to play it in survival from scratch.

A few sneak peeks for the curious:

    Dialogue

    Dialogue

    A Well of Blood

    A Well of Blood

    A small sacrifice

A Sleep Chamber ready for use

A Sleep Chamber, ready for use

Your journey begins as soon as you get back from the Nether for the first time, and are given Al Azif, where all knowledge is stored.

The mod requires Baubles to function.

Guys, you should post your questions on the Offical Witchery Thread.

This isn't the right thread, I am not the mod developer, just a player.

Anyway, @ConfusedLady, regarding your question about familiars: It is a ritual, which you can find in the circle magic book, and requires a hefty amount of altar power to perform. You can watch some video spotlights to learn more, here's one where familiars are explained, at the 5:18 mark:

posted a message on [Alpha] The Aether II: Genesis of the Void (The Festive Update! Presents, new companions, and more!)

I got a crash with the Aether 2 and Witchery. It happens when I hit a placed enchanted broom from Witchery with the extended reach Valkyrie lance. I already reported it to Witchery's mod author, who said that the problem lies in the lance that assumes anything it hits is a living creature, which the broom isn't. Thought it was better to report it here as well.

    Here's the crash log:

posted a message on ArcanaCraft ~ Magocracy ~
While using some of the new features of Witchery 0.19, both yesterday and today I summoned a Lord of Torment. The battle went fine until he reached half health, at which point we both should be transported to the Torment dimension for the second part of the battle. However, when I got there, the Lord wasn't and I had to go back to the Overworld through a portal getting no drops. I tried this twice, with the same result. As I need to summon an imp every time I want to summon the Lord I don't want to try again, but I was really looking forward to the boss's main drop: the Soul of Torment Demon. I wondered if any of the admins was willing to give me one, after all I fought two to half health, and that's just like fighting one to its death. I don't know if he has any other drops, but I'd be willing to ignore them as long as I could get the main drop. Another person on the server fought him and everything went well, I don't know why it does't work to me, I already reported on the Witchery tread. Thanks for reading.

To make coven witches be interested in you you need to have a familiar bound to yourselves. Then they'll ask you in a kind of mysterious way to bring them an item. You have to understand what they mean, bring them the item(s) and they'll join your coven. Hope this helped, check the website to see how to bind a familiar to yourself.
