posted a message on Minecraft at 5 FPS

Put it into windowed mode and make the window tiny. It lowers the resolution. I have used it to make modded minecraft run on a chromebook with 2 operating systems running at once.

edit: you should consider getting a dedicated gpu though. Intel HD graphics is pretty much the exact opposite of HD.

posted a message on Massive lag in previously lag free area

An area of my modded server has recently started lagging like crazy. When I enter it, my fps drops from playable (30 FPS and up) down to a literal sideshow. This lag appeared out of nowhere and the area was already loaded and lag free. I'm pretty sure that no one built anything new in the laggy area, but to be sure, I deleted the area using mcedit and tested out the new world in single player. It didn't help at all. While the server it runs on is a bit of a potato, the laptop I tested it on in single player is more than powerful enough to run minecraft at 120+ FPS. Here's a screenshot of the debug screen in the laggy area. We have not added any new mods recently, so I don't think adding mods is the cause.

Here are the specs for the server and my laptop

    Server:

AMD Athlon 5350 (2.05 Ghz quad core)

    10 Gb DDR3 @ 1333 Mhz (5 allocated to java)

It's running on Ubuntu 16.04. This has been the setup our server always used except recently I added 2 more gigs of ram, which underclocked the 8 gig stick already in there from 1600 to 1333.

    Laptop:

    i7-7700HQ (8 threads at 2.8 Ghz)

    8 Gb DDR4 @ 2400 Mhz (2 allocated to java)

    GTX 1050 Ti

    Ubuntu 16.04

posted a message on Server saves get corrupted after using SCP to transfer them.

I run a modded attack of the b team server for my friends and I. I back it up frequently because we have added a few unstable mods to the modpack. Everything goes smoothly with backups, but I have to periodically move the backups off the server (It uses a 40 gigabyte ps3 hard drive). One time, I decided to use SCP to move the files wirelessly. It went well until I tried to use a backup. The old save started to regenerate itself. It appears to have corrupted itself. Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on how to use SCP without corrupting saves? Thanks! :D
