Profession: World Planner. I ran several servers in creative, and even then I obsessively built roads and tunnels.
Buxville or the Wild, or both?: I would have a home in Buxville, albeit a small one, and gladly work there designing and building the infrastructure. I would however want to build myself a large home in the woods, and hunt for Bux on the side.

Jul 27, 2010So after attending a small get together at a friends house, I came home to play some Minecraft. Obviously there was some social lubrication involved, and my good friend Mickey's changed my play style noticeably. There were several differences in my play style:Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
--Took a lot more risks. Extending spelunking with no armor, not making frequent trips to deposit ores at my base.
--WAY better at combat. Usually I can barely hold my own and running is the only option, but last night I was able to pretty much ignore monsters. I think i used maybe one or two pork steaks in the process, but i gained a metric f**kton of loot.
--Spent resources more haphazardly. immediate use of my iron supplies, nearly ran out of wood for torches, left confirmed dead-ends filled with torches.
tl;dr: I play MC totally different when I'm drunk. How about you?

sounds good to me, but where do i aquire them?
Feb 1, 2010Well, the problem seems to be resolved for me. I changed nothing, and restarting both firefox and java definitely didn't do it, so I can only assume that Notch made a bug fix for it. Anyone still experiencing it?Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
Feb 1, 2010Prior to the sunday update, i was getting 200 to 400 fps in MC. NOw, even when i load an old .mclevel, i get 1 to 2 fps when i move my mouse. As long as i leave my mouse alone, and just move with wasd, I get 200fps again. but the second i click or move my mouse, (even in crafting menus and inventory) the game lags up.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
I suspect this has to do with this:
Quote from Notch »+ Remade the mouse handling. It’s slightly laggier now, but it works on multiple windows and when losing focus in linux.
I run windows 7, firefox, and the latest version of java.

Yes, that would be ideal as well. So flag tiles, for CTF, and the data related to mobs, for survival, etc. could be kept in their relative .MCE files so that mc wouldn't have to load them everytime.

S = Sand
P = Gun-powder
You get gun-powder from killing the black guys
RACIST, jk, lolololol.
In all seriousness, you have it reversed.
It's 5 gunpowder in an X shape, and 4 sand in the spaces left.

A specific file type would be used for expansions such as survival mode, CTF MP, and any others.
Suggested names: .MCX, .MCE
Using a standard file type for expansions would allow easy packaging of purchased expansions, and possibly player-created expansions, much in the way that .mclevel made hard editing maps easier.
The .MCX file would contain an index of new block types, possible physics addons, and may serve as a patch for specific elements of the unmodified game. These files could require to be approved before Minecraft.jar would successfully boot them, allowing Notch to keep people from implementing hacks or other unwanted features through these files.
If I were to add a sci-fi themed .MCX file to my expansions folder, and have MC boot it, it would boot with new block types instead of replacing old ones as terrain.png changes do. The game may contain new physics for a sci-fi themed liquid or emitter, such as a laser, or light absorber. To load the maps saved from that game, the person loading would have to have the proper .MCX’s booted, although the map would ideally allow them to have additional .MCX’s booted that were not used in the initial creation of the map.
I already sent this to Notch ;P

Did you add yourself to admins?
Jan 27, 2010Posted in: Server Support and AdministrationQuote from iPope »Sorry about that, I forgot my name was on the admin files when I packaged it up.
I don't have any problem with it, and i can't see anyone with a speck of rationality making a fuss about it. How's the fix coming?
