My singleplayer level Lab would be pretty much impossible to make without hacks.

Using hacks does not allow you to build stuff that would otherwise be impossible.

Although, it does make things a hell of a lot easier and faster. I am convinced that your Lab would've been possible to make without hacks, unless you have an explanation. I don't doubt for a second that it would've been very tedious and difficult though.

It's possible but it isn't possible. It would have taken weeks to build and who is willing to put that energy in? Nobody. You cannot deny that hacks have enabled people to build better and bigger creations, whether or not this is a worthwhile trade off is your opinion, I personally think it is.

I still feel like jumping and climbing are important aspects of this game. I've built alot of stuff this far and I can honestly say that I wouldn't gain the same sense of accomplishment if I had done so with the help of hacks. If you play this game simply because you want something big to brag about, I think you're playing it for the wrong reasons. But like you said; That's a matter of opinion.

I don't deny the fact that hacks have helped people to build bigger and "better" buildings. I, however, don't think it's worth it considering what hacks has done to this community and to the game itself.

Citricsquid; Regarding all those "amazing creations" you mentioned. Are you saying those would've been impossible to make without the use of hacks? Because I highly doubt it.

I'm not a programmer (yet), but I'm thinking of starting with Python as soon as possible.

Now, I have a question for all of you; What makes you consider yourself to "know" a programming language? Remembering most of the basic syntaxes, or just being familiar with the way of thinking as a programmer?

    AlLnAtuRalX. Thank you.

This is exactly how I feel as well. Although, I see alot of people complaining on the WoM server itself, but that's not really the point. If you're unhappy with the WoM server - Just don't go there, simple as that.

In my opinion, using hacks ruins the whole purpose of the game. Jumping, running and climbing are all crucial parts of Minecraft. If you enjoy flying around when building; Use an editor instead. This game is not hard.
It sucks that hacks has been distributed like this to everyone and their mothers. I can honestly say that I've lost alot of the passion I originally had for this game just because of that. I don't feel like running my own server is very fun anymore, it's more of a habit (or curse?) nowadays.

Currently I'm just waiting for Notch to develop that anti-hack.. stuff.

    Lag for me.

Sucks that so many people are having difficulties running it. I really liked the concept of this.

Hopefully it'll get fixed or improved soon.

The thing is, the graphics aren't supposed to be "bad". The developer wanted the world to look like an aquarelle/water colour painting. Now, I don't like this style but it doesn't make the game unplayable (at least not for me). But like I said, I haven't tried it yet but it looks promising.

I gave it a shot (via the whole friend account sharing thing). I got 0.1 FPS on the low-end quality setting. Then it crashed Windows. Yup, fun times all around.

It sucks that it didn't work properly for you. I have a few friends who plays it though and I haven't heard anything about them encountering such problems. I suppose you weren't able to try the game at all?

I am fully aware of the fact that Minecraft is the best game in the world - I just wanted to get your attention :wink.gif:

Now, I found this game a while ago called "Love". Yes, simply "Love". The name sucks, but the concept of the game doesn't. Here's a gameplay video if you're curious of what I'm talking about http://quelsolaar.com/love/gameplay_video.html
It's currently in alpha, but it seems pretty finished from what I've heard.

For you who doesn't wanna look through all of that I'm gonna try to explain.
First of all, it's a building game. The game has alot of stuff going on, and I can't possibly explain all of it. The video sums up most of it in a good way.
You can dig, build mountains, raise ground or whatever.. But apparently, you can build your own "defense systems" with walls, doors, traps and even turrets or other weapons to defend your base/city/facility. They can all be connected too, so that for example, every time someone opens a door - A bomb goes off. All of this requires power though, which can be gathered simply by building a power plant of some sort (Windmill, as seen in the video).

I haven't tried it yet, and I'm not too fond of the graphics.. But what do you think?

And how is it even possible? Minecraft has been down for more than 10 hours, hasn't it?

This might not be a problem when it comes to common materials such as stone or dirt. But if there are going to be materials that are hard to find or perhaps even rare, it would suck if someone gathered most of it and just left after a while.

It's simple. If you fail to follow the rules, you will get kicked out (or in worst case banned, depending on what you did). The reason for your behaviour doesn't really change anything. The rules stay the same regardless of circumstances. If this is upsetting for you, please go somewhere else.

I saw your behaviour in the console myself, chariot, and if I'm not mistaken you called the operators idiots after questioning the rules several times, even though you were told that the rules aren't up for debate.

If anyone of you have any questions regarding the rules, or anything else for that matter, feel free to e-mail me about it. I would appreciate if a moderator could lock this thread as soon as possible.
