The top block is actually 127. It is numbered 0-127.

Ah, yes, but the level of your head is what is being displayed for the Y, which is throwing it off.

The Y coordinate is off by 2. If you are standing next to an ocean, it should be y=64 (y=64.62000000476837 on the PC version to be exact), but it shows as y=66.
If you are next to lava (at the lava level, not just a random pool of it) you should be reading y=12, but it says 14.

I had a hard time at first finding the right level for diamonds, because I went to bedrock and counted up 12 blocks. Unfortunately, I was actually at y=14, so after several hours of not finding many diamonds, I went down 2 blocks and found tons of them.

Unless you are some kind of mathematical genius (or idiot savant) that can calculate the results in your head, you aren't figuring anything out. It's an incredibly complex random generator, there's no pattern in the seed numbers that the average person can divine from it.

Such a lovely collection of pretty and practical builds! Great work, perhaps create a ghast farm for regen potions? ^_^

I'll have to look into that, I never thought about that.

Could you by a chance give us the world download.

I would really like to explore the world by myself.

I still need to build a rail from the portal to the nether fortress where the blaze grinder is, because it is really far to walk, and you have to follow a trail of cobblestone breadcrumbs to get to it. But when I get that finished, I might upload it. Stay tuned.

Did you turn The End into a roller coaster farm?

Haha, no, you have make the enderman grinder about 150-200 blocks away from the end, which, in case you didn't realize, is an island floating in the darkness, AND, you have to drop down to level 12 or 14 to start building the grinder. Without the minecart, it's a long walk!

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words, I've worked much harder on this world than any I've ever done before, and I'm pretty proud of the results. I still want to add some stuff, but I don't know what exactly, maybe a pig and chicken farm area for starters.
I'm trying to learn to use World Edit better, because what I'd really like to do is hollow out the already large cavern under the main living area, and make an underground city ruins or something like that. I'd also like to make an Aztec temple in the jungle, so we'll have to see.

This is impressive, the more so being for made in survival mode. I try this too, in my own different way, but don't have anywhere near your architect's eye.

Try watching a master builder. Once you build a couple things, you realize it isn't all that difficult.

Thats Pretty Cool. Still Never Figured Out how to make a enderman looter... without cheating of course B)

It's a royal pain in the ass. I had most of the materials ahead of time, and it still took like 3 days. I'm not sure I would ever do one legit again (by myself) unless I had someone help bring the supplies back and forth from the base. Although, the enderchests are going to be great for stuff like this, aren't they?

Even your cow barn looks ... OMG RAINBOW SHEEP ... *cough* as I was saying even your cow barn looks better than my first survival hut. Job well done! I do like that bridge, are you using a mod for the water texture?

    Thanks!

The cow barn was done in the Jamziboy style, although I've never seen him make anything quite like my barn. I just wanted to make it easy to feed the cows wheat, without having to enter the barn. I love my sheep pen too, although it's really too big, they always seem to pretty much stay at the one end. There are 4 of each color. It took forever to find cocoa beans in this world for some reason, so brown was the last color to get dyed.

Nothing special about the water, the texture comes with the pack, and I don't think MC Patcher is doing anything special to it.

I've pretty much been building in the same world since 1.25 came out, and have kind of gotten builder's block the past week or so. I'm not sure if I want to continue to build things, or wait until 1.3 comes out and start over.

But anyway, here's some of what I have built. BTW, in case you are wondering, Jamziboy on Youtube is my building inspiration, he makes houses that are simply amazing and can easily be built legit.

I built this stuff with Johnsmith TP, but was trying out Steelfeather's Enchanted Pack when I took these shots. I was suprised that it still looks pretty good with such a different texture pack.

The main house is on the right, and the potion/enchanting shop is on the left.

The cow barn (my main source of food), with the colored sheep wool farm in the background.

    A simple farm.

Nice little bridge across to the jungle.

Nether portal and minecart to the zombie xp farm.

This is a treehouse I lived in when I first started this world.

    Mah cozy bed.

An overview of the main building area.

Okay, switched to Johnsmith for the rest.

Here is a picture of the Blaze spawner XP farm.

Not much to look at really, but here's some of the wiring that makes it work. Thanks to Monkeyfarm for the design.

Nether wart farm near the blaze grinder.

The ride out to the Enderman XP farm.

Might be kind of hard to see unless you blow it up, but the thing is massive.

    Enderman falling on the inside.

The machine set to kill mode. Thanks Docm77 for the tutorial on this.

Ready to one-shot kill these guys.

I built an enchanting table here so I didn't have to make the long trek back to home every time I got to level 50. This one is by far the most efficient of all of the different mob XP farms, I can enchant like 6 or 7 things in about an hour. Of course, it's also obscenely difficult to build legit, and very resource heavy.

Update 15, July. I decided to try to make an underground walled garden, and this what I have come up with so far. I didn't do any of this legit, though, I used WorldEdit to hollow out the cave and then turn it into a grassy cavern. I then used Creative mode to give me the different kinds of stonebrick since the only way you can get it is by dismantling a stronghold, and I really wanted to leave the one I have found in this world in one piece. (I took enough already to build the portal room!) I did design the gatehouse by hand though, and then copied it to make one on the other side of the cavern. I didn't realize that the void fog was going to end up making it hard to see in there until I switched back to survival. *sigh* Live and learn.

You can already grow grass aswell as flowers on Minecraft.
    Go try it.

They want to be able to grow grass grass, you know, the flat green part, not the tall grass. Too impatient to wait the 5 minutes or so for it to grow naturally, I guess.

Um... Has it been added yet? No? Okay then.

Um...no, and it's probably never going to be...get a silk touch enchanted shovel if you want grass blocks legit, or use TMI, or NEI, or SPC. It's not a feature that doesn't have another option to get it.

At the time of the OP, there was no such thing as enchanting yet, but now there is, so there is a legit way to get grass blocks and put them wherever your little heart desires.
Also, at the time, grass didn't regrow as fast as it does now since sheep are constantly munching on it, so no, there is no reason to add this to the game.

    Quote from xxEarthZiixx

They need to make mob spawners for creeper .... what do you think about this idea ?

HELL no, are you out of your mind?

BTW, use the seed "worstseedever", and you will spawn right in front of one that the sand falls into as you spawn. It's got 2 saddles in the chest if I remember right, and there are 5 wolves in the forest not too far from there, so this is a good seed to use if you don't have the achievements yet.

"888" is another seed with a dungeon/spawner near where you spawn. You walk over or around the closest hill and you can walk right into it at the base of the hill.

Why are you people fighting about who should be in and who shouldn't be in?

To tell you the truth, all of them that are mentioned here deserve to be in there, and probably will be eventually.

I would add Kiss, Rush, Deep Purple, The Cars, Cheap Trick, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Chicago, Journey, Foreigner, Bad Company, Peter Frampton, and of course, Bon Jovi.

Is Judas Priest or Megadeth in there? If not, I would add them as well.

posted a message on Is cheating (or mods.) wrong?
I never feel guilty using Too Many Items once in awhile to save myself a long trip back to the house to get a couple of things I need to complete a large build (and I delete the ones that I would have used had I made the trip). I work 50-60+ hours a week, and sometimes I just don't have time to waste running errands. I don't hack in anything I don't have already.

IMHO, Rei's Mini-map should be standard in vanilla MC, much more useful than the standard in-game maps.

I almost forgot, I have Single Player Commands installed for two reasons.
    1. /fixwater command because messed up water drives me up the wall.
2 /keepitems command which lets you keep your items when you die. (although since the enchanting/XP system is going to be nerfed in 1.3, I may stop using that one) Ragequitting because I lost 2 diamond picks and a diamond sword, all with level 50 enchantments, is not my idea of fun. (Because I usually don't die unless lava is involved)

You can call using mods "cheating", but I call it "game enhancement". If you never play anything but vanilla, you're barely scratching the surface of what Minecraft has to offer.
