Your method of make one commands are different from most others.
If you don't know what the stacked command block method is, it's bassically FallingSand disguised as command blocks with TileEntityData (used to store commands), with a redstone block on top of the command block tower that activates a command block that activates the other command block from top to bottom. The command block under that fills the entire structure (or the area you specify) with air.
That's the method IJAMinecraft and TheRedEngineer and many others use.
Oh, sorry... The grammar in that comment threw me off. Yeah, the stacked command block method could work in various situations like this one; however, I find it to be slow, unwieldy, unreliable, and generally inefficient, especially in situations like this where the commands may need to be executed immediately at any time.
I think he meant the interface/GUI. That's the thing that really needs work on and is the most important after the mechanics. I would really like to see some improvements!
Tripl3, do you actually still do redstone? Just wondering.
P.S. Did you make this program by hand or with a program?
The interface is something I want to work on; sadly, GUI programming with Java is a pain
Yeah, I still do redstone, just not nearly as often as I used to. I... haven't been playing Minecraft all that much lately (school sucks, and so does getting bored with everything)
I made this by hand in Eclipse - every line of code in it is handwritten or borrowed from the Internet (and most of that I re-wrote by hand).
Thanks! Not really sure what you mean by comfortable... If you give me a bit more detail I'll see what I can do. Also, thanks for the offer - if I had any way to accept donations, I'd be very grateful. As it is, it's more the thought that counts. Thanks anyway!
As a fellow command combiner dev, I congratulate you on taking up such a tough project. However, your program has a few flaws. I unfortunately am going to be a bit harsh, so please don't take this the wrong way, or let it discourage you; I'm just trying to give you some feedback so your program can be improved
Your program functions, and the interface is fairly clean and neat. Sadly, that's about all the good I can say for it.
Here are just a few of the problems I noticed instantly:
- Severe lack of options such as gamerules, etc
- Nice looking but non user-friendly interface
- Absolutely no help or instructions whatsoever
When developing programs like this, you absolutely MUST take the user into account, even before yourself. Sadly, your program simply isn't user-friendly for beginners, and doesn't provide the options that experienced users need.
With that said, you have a good start here. With a bit of work, this could be a perfectly viable and useful tool. Let me know if you need any help or ideas; while I don't have any experience with C#, I've been working with one-commands and command combiners for years.
If I try like just the summon command, it work out fine
It seems to be a glitch; not really sure what's going on. It appears to have missed the first quotation mark altogether... Can you post the entire Previous Output section on the failed one?
Hmm... You must have changed your default .jar program to WinRar when you installed it. Try right-clicking, then selecting Open With > Java(TM) Platform SE Binary (or whatever has Java in it)
You can't do all of that in one command block. You can do it in one tick though.
As an experienced one-commander, I would heartily disagree. Having watched the video he posted, it seems like what is needed here is one command block, not just one command. The one command would work the same as any "install" one-command, simply placed in the chain in such a way that it only executes and summons the minecarts when the beetroots are detected. It would be fairly complex, sure, and not very fast, but not impossible.
is this helpful to beginners who want to start with the one-liners?
Yup! It has a lot of features for advanced users, but the basic settings are simple enough that even a beginner can understand them without too much trouble. If you need help understanding the controls, just let me know, or use the help page.

Pretty much - or I re-handwrote the same code character for character (sounds stupid, I know... it's a programmer thing)

Ah... Sadly, even I don't actually fully understand how he managed to do that first one. The 3D view is a possibility, but not for a while.

Sorry... what?

Whoa, settle down there. No need to be rude, it is fairly fiddly technology, you can hardly expect it to work on your first try.
And yes, yes I do.

Sorry, I would disagree... It may be generated, but that isn't just "randomly put there", it helps it execute quickly.
Also, that's not the point. We're getting off topic.

No, more likely written by hand. Mine is a good option though =)

As long as you have Java installed, you should be able to run it just by double clicking (just like any .exe file on Windows).
