    (Really good mod)

This mod has not been under development in years, and I have no way or intent of reviving it.

Yeah I understand you are not working on it anymore . . . sadly, MC needs a working Harry Potter Wand mod imo. Idk anything about modding but someone told me you would need the source? How does that work?

I'd recommend learning a bit about programming and modding in general before trying to pick something like this up. It will go much smoother for you.

That said, even if I wanted to give out the source code for this mod so someone else could pick it up, I don't think I have it anymore. Even if I did, it would be severely outdated; the mod was only ever brought up to 1.7.10, and only ever half-finished for 1.8.

Anyone know how you would make this work on a server? like how would I "Fix" it?

The mod simply isn't set up in such a way that it's possible for it to work on a server. It could be fixed, but I haven't been actively developing it for years and I don't intend to.

posted a message on Magicka - Revolutionizing Minecraft Magic! [WIP again for 1.12]

For anyone still watching this thread/interested in the idea, I am now working on this mod again. I've scrapped a lot of the ideas I had at the time to keep up with changes in the game, but the basic concept is still the same.

If you would like to keep up with development, you can check out the Github repository for details. I will no longer be updating this thread.

posted a message on "Drop 'n Pop" Resource Installer v1.0 - Easy, User-Friendly Resource Installation!

The Drop 'n Pop Resource Installer is a small project that I created over the course of about a day and a half. The basic idea was to give creators an easy, simple-to-understand way to have users install resources into their maps. As more and more features in Minecraft require resource files to be installed into the world file, creators have to forfeit either the use of these features or some level of user understanding - this program should help bridge that gap a bit.

Think of the program like this:

While that may be confusing at first, it's really quite simple. The user simply drops the installer file into the world folder they want to install it in, double click it, and it installs (don't worry, it has confirmation dialogs and such, so they can actually tell that stuff is happening). This obviously has applications outside of Minecraft as well, but it was designed with Minecraft in mind.

It's even easy for developers to use as well - simply open the downloaded jar as an archive using a program like WinRar or 7zip, open the "install_content.zip" file inside, and put all your install resources inside.

While it's not quite as simple as it could be on the user end, it's far simple and easier to understand for the average user than a zip file, which is currently the main way of installing map resources such as resource packs, loot tables, and (in the 1.10 snapshots) structures. It also runs on Java, which means almost everyone can run it out of the box (since Minecraft runs on Java as well).

The program is not technically open source as I'm not planning to release the source, but I'm perfectly fine with people using the code if they want. More specific license info is in the README (shown in the above picture).

Download it here. (Download link currently broken, and I can't figure out how to fix it - it seems to be a problem with MCF. I'll get it fixed ASAP)

posted a message on Structure Block Basics (16w20a)

So I've been playing around with the new Structure Block, and I thought I'd compile some basics on how it works and how to use it. Feel free to correct me if I get something wrong =)

    Data Mode

Gonna need some help on this one... It seems like it might be used for giving maps block-locked logic points to execute from, rather than just entities, but I can't figure out how to target it if that's the case. Any ideas?

    Fields:
    - Custom Data Tag Name - Sets the "metadata" tag of the structure block, probably the identifier (assuming my guess at the use case is correct)

    Save Mode

Allows the player to save a structure into a file, although I can't figure out where the file is stored.

    Fields:
    - Structure Name: The name to save the structure under, used to load it/identify corners
    - Relative Position: The relative x/y/z coordinates the structure should start at.
    - Structure Size: Controls the size of the structure relative to the start point. Can be auto-detected from corner blocks with the same structure name
    - Show Invisible Blocks: Shows or hides the "Structure Void" blocks (still no clue what those are used for though -_-)
    - Include Entities: Whether entities should be included in the structure or not

This thread is still a work in progress, as I had limited time - I'll finish it ASAP =)

posted a message on Two Elytra Ideas

    Separate Slot: Partial Support

While this could work, the game is balanced the way it is for a reason. Allowing players both the ability to fly and wear the single most powerful armor type could be a bit OP.

    Slowing Down: Full Support

I really like this idea. While the Elytra isn't all that hard to control, landings are one of the trickier things to handle, especially if you need to be super-precise (landing on a specific single block is all but impossible). This would not only make the experience of flying with the Elytra just a little bit more controllable, but more realistic as well.

posted a message on Dynamic Skins

While this isn't an awful idea, as a modder myself, Mojang's skin rendering code would be too clunky for this. Also, how would you change it ingame? The game would have to dynamically load options, and that would not only be unserviceablely difficult, but slow to boot.

    Needs some work.

Hello I like using commandblocks in minecraft and programing in java. So I wonder if I can help you with this program in some way, it would be fun and I will learn new things. And your program gets better

Thank you, but I'd prefer to keep this particular project in-house. Thanks for offering, though!

    CommandBox v1.0 Progress Update

Unfortunately, due to real life (I know, I hate it too), my estimate of a month to complete the update was a bit short. I'm not sure how soon I can get the update out, as there's still a lot of work to do.

    Here's what's done so far:

    • 1.9 raw generation
    • Most of the UI (save for the help page)
    • Almost all of the back-end framework that runs the program

Here's what's still left to do:

    • 1.9 structure generation
    • 1.8 generation
    • Import/Export options
    • New features (stay tuned for more info)
    • Help page
    • Buttloads of bug testing

As you can see, there's still a lot of work to be done. However, I'm working hard on the update and it will hopefully be done sometime in the next few months.

Might revisit this... can't seem to get the Minecart version to delete the structure and remove the minecarts at the same time for my OCB tests...

It is rather tricky. I achieved it by setting a command block above the structure and activating it, which removes the structure, then deleting the minecarts. That way, you can delete the minecarts and still have a command around to delete the structure, including itself and (if necessary) it's power source.

posted a message on [1.8/1.9+] CommandBox - Easy command combining at your fingertips! (Version 0.10 Alpha)

For those who may be wondering about what my declaration of a full release will entail:

    • Complete scratch rewrite of the back-end code, while keeping as much of the original functionality as possible
    • Total revamp of the program's UI
    • A massive performance increase due to multi-threading and code abstraction (hopefully)
    • Some new functionality (probably)
    • Possibly some temporary functionality rollback (only if absolutely necessary)
    • Much more advanced (read: useful) help page

Overall, once this version is done, the program will hopefully be much more powerful, efficient, streamlined, and shiny. That said, such a huge project will take a while, as I'm basically rewriting 99% of the program from scratch. Considering the program in it's current state took approximately 5 months to develop (admittedly with only intermittent work), but also that I already have the experience gained from creating it once, the update will hopefully take a month at most.

Another big goal of this project is to make the program easier to edit and update. The code for the original program is kind of a mess, and this new version will hopefully be much more organized and modular, making it faster and easier to release updates.

With all that said, wish me luck, and happy one-commanding!

posted a message on [1.8/1.9+] CommandBox - Easy command combining at your fingertips! (Version 0.10 Alpha)

    Update - v0.10 Alpha

    - Added the ::MESS:: tag; takes a message/data tag and applies it to "/tellraw @a <message>" (tellraw shortcut for credits, install success, etc).
    - Added a credit to the chat when executing a command - can be manually removed, but please don't!
    - Fixed the gamerule options for 1.9 commands.
    - Added a "Config" option - this will save a default project that will be loaded upon opening the program. It can be saved and reset from the program itself.
    - Increased generation efficiency (does not affect output, just how fast the program itself is).
    - Updated the help page (from now on this won't make it into the changelog unless I make major edits)

After a loooooong break, I'm back to working on this, at least for a while. And with that, the long-awaited 0.10 Alpha update is here!

Also, I plan to take the program out of Alpha soon! With that will come some more big changes, so wish me luck!
