    Hello All!
    I am starting a new dedicated server that is a tech server with a custom assortment of mods. This is a small group and people are more then welcome to join us and have some fun. I work odd hours so most likely you won't see much of me, but a few of my friends are mods and they can help you out.

    I will also be posting a google form for any serious issues.Any server that I host, I make sure to release the server files on either a wipe or shutdown so don't worry there. The server is running on a 2xquad core xeon system with 16gb of ram, more then enough power.

    Only a Few Rules
    1. Be mature, I don't age verify but I am aiming at a older crowd. As myself being almost 30, I like to play with mature people. Act mature and your age really won't matter to me.
    2. Respect thy neighbor, PVP is enabled only for defense in case a mod or myself is not on. Don't be a jerk
    3. Preserve the land as much as possible. Underground mass mining is allowed. Any mass surface mining must be reclaimed. I should have a mining world portal up soon.

    On my server we would like to create a mage city in the sky. Is there some equivalent for for the AM1 earth shift spell or has it been removed?

    Anyone else not able to get aPerf 1.6.1.0 to load? Forge mod loader(Forge 871 for mc 1.6.2) doesn't even recognize it as a mod.

    I tried it in both my test server and my dev environment just in case it wasn't obfuscated. This is the only message I got from the server about it:

    2013-10-10 02:10:36 [INFO] [ForgeModLoader] FML has found a non-mod file aPerf-1.6.1.0.jar in your mods directory. It will now be injected into your classpath. This could severe stability issues, it should be removed if possible.

    posted a message on [Forge/ML] Best way to determine block is exposed to sky
    Howdy,

    I am trying to find the best way to detect if the a block is exposed to the sky after a block above it has broken. The most direct way is to hook into a block break event and do a check every single time via checking every block from the sky limit to the block but that seems.... excessive. I could do block lighting but this needs to work at night as well.

    Anyone have any more efficient ideas then what I have above?

    I am working on a radiation mod and am trying to figure out a good way to see if you are near the entrance to a cave while inside it. I want to be able to have the global radiation effect you when you are near the cave entrance as well.

    This is why I am always skeptical of new mods. Every time something changes it requires the authors intervention and the author 99.9% of the time leaves or starts a "new" mod which really pisses me off. There is absolutely no consistency which makes it impossible to run something like this long term. Now I have to go and put even more plugins on my server to block people from generating more land to prevent the water depth from changing........ just wonderful.

    It's like how a String variable in programing is a series of characters. You can still have a 'series' that consists of a single character and it is still a valid String. For that matter, you can have an empty string as well. The same applies to Arrays of a given variable, Lists of a given variable, etc.

    When data is concerned, anything greater than or equal to zero elements can be counted as a 'series', even though it is counter-intuitive.

    A single name can still constitute a 'list'.

    Personally I couldn't care any less about what notch thinks. If he doesn't like client mods then he needs to step up and make an API or use some of those people he hired to make it instead of a new game.

    I would mod this myself and release it if I cared enough for it. But I would never use it therefore have very little incentive to make it work.

    I like this one better anyways, it has a chance of working just fine when MC updates and doesn't conflict with other addons because of the separate jar. Not to mention you seem to be the source of ideas for other ones as of late :smile.gif:

    I don't think I will ever understand people who just play SSP. I mean its cool to build things but you will never be able to add a RP element or show it to your friends online. I got bored of SSP quickly when I played it.
