    ATTENTION: Never ride a minecart down a minecart track at night!!! I did so and my friend's track exploded :SSSS: , and I felt bad and rebuilt it.

    EDIT: Ehnonimus pointed out a very good fact, so I will describe on it at the end of the section.

    I have been playing minecraft for a few weeks now, and today I restarted messing around with minecarts on my friend's multiplayer server. I went on the low-tech minecart train track that my friend had built, and while riding it I noticed a few things that can be improved. Here are my ideas, every one of which I will go over in more detail afterwards:

      - when a minecart track curves, it should be tilted
        - should be possible to make curved minecart tracks

      - time for better powered minecarts!
        - minecart trains

      - new ways for interacting with minecarts
      - new types of minecarts
      - minecart viewpoint is messed up

    When a Minecart Track Curves, It Should Be Tilted + Curved/Wavey Tracks
    Currently, there is one very important thing preventing the building of even more amazing rollercoasters/amusement rides - the track itself. Have you ever noticed that on rollercoasters, everytime there's a turn the track is tilted? That should be possible to make in minecraft. But not always will somebody want their turn to be at an angle - sometimes people will want it to stay straight. Therefore, tilted minecart tracks should be built with a VERY SIMPLE FORMULA THAT CAN BE REVERSED!

    In this formula, the logs represent 1 minecart track. The stick represents the stick. This formula should yield the curved/tilted minecart track which will reverse back to a stick and a track if put in a crafting slot.

    HOW IN THE WORLD WILL THIS WORK?!?!?!?!?!??!
    The curved track acts just like a minecart track, with a few differences:

      - When placed, but not near any other curved track, it should make the shape of a wave, and under the middle(which is the highest point) there should be a stick. NOTE: The ends of the track should be on the ground, and the middle should be raised up one block. Also the shape should not be triangular, but more semicircular.
      - When a minecart rides over it, it will rise and drop according to the shape of the track.

    If the product of this formula is placed in the place a curve should occur (between two perpendicular minecart tracks), then the following should occur:

      - the middle of the side pointing outwards should be the tallest
      - the middle of the side pointing inwards should be completely on the ground
      - from the top the tilted track should look just like the normal track would

    Time For Better Powered Minecarts! + Minecart Trains
    The current powered minecarts are only useful when used with storage carts, and storage carts are rarely used. Boosters either look ugly, or take a lot of space and time. Firing up two powered minecarts and getting into the passenger minecart fast enough is a pain in the A :SSSS: . What can be done about it you ask? Well, tell me - how do trains work? The engine in some of the first trains is in the front, and it PULLS on the other carts. So, the new powered minecart should be put in front of the passenger minecart(s). With this new invention, trains should be implemented. A train is a chain of minecarts connected together. Of course, not always will someone want his/her minecarts get automatically connected to each other when they are placed near each other, and again I have a solution: minecart connectors. I'll remind you AGAIN - this process should be reversable; the connected minecarts should go back to normal minecarts when put in a crafting slot:

    In this formula, the diamond represents a SLIMEBALL (I FOUND A USE FOR THEM!!! w00t!), and the iron ingot represents the minecart. The product of this should look like whatever minecart was used, with a squished green sphere attached to each end of it (cause minecarts don't have a front and back). Now, let's say you placed a train-cart on one track. You place another train-cart in a track that is adjacent AND connected to it, and the two carts connect with a thin, green, slime-like line. Those two carts will now move in the same direction if one of them moves. This can be done with any amount of carts. When one cart is destroyed, the connection breaks and the minecart that was destroyed goes in your inventory. The other stays where it was. TRAIN-CARTS WILL ONLY CONNECT ON PLACEMENT, THEREFORE TWO TRAINS BUMPING INTO EACH OTHER WILL NOT CREATE ANOTHER TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Now, back to the powered minecarts. What I am edging towards are powered train-carts. Those carts are attached to the front of a chain of connected train-carts, and they define the front of the train. Each train can only have one powered train cart, and when a powered train-cart is right clicked with a coal it should open up an interface similar to the one the furnace opens. Three slots for coal should be available in a powered train-cart. When right clicked with anything but a coal, the powered train-cart will make a train noise (the one that goes WOOH WOOOOOH) three times over a three second period to let every player get in a cart.

    Aesthetic Properties of a Powered Train-Cart
    It should look like the front of a Kingston Flyer steam train or something... USE YOUR CREEPY :SSSS: CREATIVITY NOTCH!!!

    New Ways of Interracting With Minecarts + New Types of Minecarts (THIS SECTION NEEDS IMPROVEMENT)
    What I mean by "new ways of interracting with minecarts" is new ways of getting into and controlling them. If you have any more ideas on these two topics, PLEASE comment!!! I will read comments, and try as much as possible to put your ideas into this suggestion!!!!
    Ideas Include:

      - redstone charge giving a quick boost
      - water flow pushing minecart

    New types of minecarts could give some more variety to the rollercoaster-making world.
    Ideas Include:

      - colored minecarts, work like colored wool
      - adding stickers, A.K.A. - placing paintings on minecarts

    Minecart Viewpoint
    By now you might have noticed that the lamp above my head is almost completely burned out (a.k.a. I'm out of ideas). I still have one more topic that I really want to be improved: the viewpoint from minecarts. I only have one thing to say about this: there should be an option to whether the camera turns automatically with the cart, or the player controls it.


    If you read this far, that means that you also have a strong opinion on this matter (or you just really like reading). Please comment with your ideas, and if you agree with me - let's hope Notch sees this!!!!!

    Ehnonimus pointed out something very important - he said that this will be too hard to make. I disagree, and here is why:
    The curved minecart tracks are just special skins, and when a minecart rides over one the minecart's elevation raises according to it's point on the track. On the tilted track, the minecart will, as always, go at a 45 degree angle, and be tilted 45 degrees in the direction it is turning. No code changing needed.

    EDIT: Aether thread? Sorry, sometimes when I look at the forums I skim through them quickly... too quickly to notice some things. Alright I'll go check it out!

    So a couple months ago we were fighting mighty sheep on the grass in the place now known as the "overworld".
    A little bit later after that, after the Halloween Update, Notch helped us go to hell. Thanks Notch!

    What about the other place? I want to know what's over the overworld!!!

    At the bottom of the overworld, we see a lot of lava and darkness - just like in the Nether. At the top of it, we see... clouds - just like in the snow-and-cloud filled over-overworld. Let's not call it Greenland. (Nether = Netherlands?)

    We need this new world for the following reasons:
      Everything needs to have an opposite. The overworld is like 0 - it cannot have an opposite.
      We might have a nice world already, but it most probably has no snow near our spawn points.
      Instead of the scary Nether, we should have a peaceful place that's not filled with creepers and isn't like a horror movie.

    This new place should have a lot of snow. Clouds should also be on the ground making a beautiful view. Of course, if the landscape is all snow and clouds then it'll look stupid and not very relaxing. What we need is:
      The sky should be blue at all times.
      The sun should exist (duh).
      There should be clouds everywhere, but mostly on ground level.
      There should be islands "floating" in mid-air, and if ever possible they should actually slightly move up and down to create more of a floating motion. When they are connected with anything, the floating islands should move with whatever they are connected to. If they're connected with the ground, they will stop moving.
      New types of animals are not necessary in MY opinion.

    So today I've been playing minecraft and I've heard a spider and a skeleton below my iron block storage room. I dug down, killed them, and explored the cavern they were in. At the end of the cavern I found this weird room that looks like it's man made, but it's not. It's not a dungeon.

    Is this some kind of easter egg? I am on single player, and I've never been in this location. Is it like the pyramids that were appearing a long time ago? Random and mysterious? SOMEONE HELP! WHY DOES IT LOOK ALL SYMMETRICAL?!
      This is a random seed.
      I am not using any mods.
      I am not using any texture packs.
    I'll light the area up to make sure no creepers :SSSS: destroy it.

    I like the idea, but some of the arrows will be WAY too hard to make, like the flaming arrow and the diamond arrow and such. Maybe more arrows should be created in the diamond arrow recipe, like 15 arrows or something. Diamonds are extremely rare.
