    open launcher go to the bottom left corner and click [new profile] then click on[use latest version] and then click[1.7.10]then click [save profile] in the bottom right corner select the new profile and press play go to >options>recourse pack and >open recourcepack folder. then drag your 1.8 texture pack in there and exit mine craft reopen and use the 1.8 profile or change the old one to use latest version. activate your texture pack and enjoy
