Yeah, so villages do exist. I have found a few now in different random maps. There does seem to be a problem with the villages spawning with abnormal terrain (like your screen shot above Irish_Dave). I found one that had a fissure running through it and most of the villagers kept falling to their death. I found one that was immersed in water 2 deep. Another had multiple cave systems opened right next to the houses and the doors of all the village houses were between 3 and 5 blocks off the ground. Maybe a bug? Or is this intended?

Ok, a quick update. I have finally gotten villages in Large and Medium, but they are spread WAY out and some take some searching. So they do exist. The bug is that when loading seeds from PS3/Xbox 360 that have villages in per-determined areas, the villages don't appear on Medium and Large. Something that worries me when they add the patch to transfer ps3 saves to the PS4. I have a crafted world where I have expanded and upgraded the villages in the seed. Would hate to see the village not exist on a bigger map.

EDIT: Just found a village out in the middle of an expanded area on a PS3 seed. SO the villages still exist, they are just moved? Unsure. There were 7 villages in the ps3 version, I have only mapped 5 map parts so far.
And I forgot to answer you Clsyvezx... you have to craft a new map for every "section" (when you reach the edge of one map, open another to continue onto the new one). The maps are 5x5 so you need 25 total maps on large (i have done 5 maps wide so far and found both edges)

posted a message on Minecraft PS4 Edition: Official Bugs List [1.12]
Been testing over night. Haven't seen a single village in Medium and Large maps. I've mixed loading random maps and trying seed from the ps3 version that have known villages. When on the 2 smaller map sizes the villages show up (although terrain is a bit off), but on Medium and Large, the villages disappear, only empty lots where the villages should be. I roamed around 10 random load maps on large and never saw a single village. Bug?

I have done some testing using ps3 seeds that have known village locations. It Seems the villages only spawn when you have the map set to small or classic. On medium or large, the villages disappear. I have roamed 6 random maps on large and haven't seen one village. I have found temples however. Just no villages. I think there is a bug in the world size that screws up village placement on the med/large maps.

posted a message on Disc save not working in digital
Spent the week off work with family, rented MInecraft PS3 edition from RedBox at the insistence of my nephew. Proceeded to stay up all night creating fun :) Took the game back the next day. After a couple good days at work, I decided to buy it from the PS Store. After the quick download, I went to fire up our game, and no saves are showing up. I checked the save directory and the game saves are still there. After starting a new game, I noticed the disc based saves are called MInecraft: Playstation 3 Edition (BLUS31426) and the new saves from the digital just say Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition. Is there a way to recover that save? I've never had this happen before between digital and disc saves (Borderlands 1 and 2 come to mind)
