I was heading up a vertical tunnel at the time, so I tried to move fast to avoid an ambush, then I noticed the dungeon at the top

when i encounter a spawner, 30 out of 31 cases i have battled my way through tunnels and mining shafts first, slowing me down considerably. there's no need to fix things based upon a lucky occurrence.

BTW usually makes things harder. If you get a lucky incident, deeply cherish that and think of it when a Beast devours your soul.

I found my first dungeon after stupidly forgeting about the shift key, and I think that mob spawners need to have less of an initial charge up when you first enter the 16 block range, as I was able to just bumrush in there and slam down 4 torches in the corners and it was done, with only one zombert in the center

You just got lucky. Most of the time, you'll be in spawn range but not in run-there-and-torch-it range

hey, what forge version do I use for this mod? When I downloaded the mod and ran forge the mod wasn't installed to the game, even though I am using 1.5 forge and the mod is in my mods folder.

If you REALLY want to use forge, use version 404.

You can eat it perfectly confident that it is perfectly safe to do so and will have absolutely no unexpected long term effects.

From anyone else, this would be a "ah ok i can eat it".

From you, it casts a shadow of doubt.

isn't it awesome how BTW hardcore has trained everyone here to be cautious with the info you give? :D

what I meant was similar to what you said, you didn't include code to make it incompatible, you just didn't add the code required to make it compatible. or if my understanding of how modloader works is correct, you used the vanilla method for adding blocks and items over the modloader method, and never actually included code to make it incompatible. Example of deliberately including code to prevent it from working: what sengir did with bees and the techicpack launcher, those were some fun times!

what's the point you're trying to make here? he coded his modloader in a way that's useful to him, no fancy stuff. nothing about deliberately not including stuff.

So, I wore my full diamond armor, and brought all my diamond equipment with me, along with the dragon egg, into the water to play with the hats and something wonderful happened.

oh god, SO AWESOME! Especially the bootsies! (Does this actually please your wolf enough to turn it back from angry to normal?!)

Isn't the common posting rule supposed to be "read the last 5 pages before you post"? Especially when it comes to updates, when it can be fairly assumed you're not the first person to ask.

Maybe, but i find reading through 5 pages way to much on many occasions (unless dealing with more complex topics).

reading one page back is enough most of the time. Even then, a quick Ctrl+F "Update" on the past 5 pages would've been enough.

The simpler a question is to google, the less people will google it and ask on a forum in stead.

The axle, not the air is on fire. Axles are flammable despite having a small bounding box.

    This is wrong.

The stoked fire block is on fire. Just make some stoked fire without anything above or around it.

So, I've always felt that balance in vanilla Minecraft is unnecessary. To me vanilla is about the building and creativity

    Constraints breed creativity.

Balance is needed because it creates fun, interaction with the world. Obviously different people feel different about how far the balance needs to go but beds and Peaceful just straight out remove entire chunks of gameplay from the experience.

Besides, your desire for "i wanna build" is filled by Creative, whereas your need for meaningful interaction is filled by Survival. (although Mojang seems hellbent on merging the two)

I think FC could implement [insert new post-1.5.2 feature] without disrupting the balance, but it's unnecessary and would be a waste of time that can be used working on the final update.

    (quote edited).

This really applies to just about everything. The problem is that it then becomes a job of fixing Mojang's problem rather than creating new, fun, interesting and original features.

Fixing other people's errors isn't that bad. for a while.

take it as "don't rely on FC as your primary source of information about the mod unless it's necessary"

    "use at your own risk"

    :P

    Alternative:

If it looks dangerous, and/or you think it's dangerous, it usually is.

as far as i recall, the chance of them growing up is the same as before, but now they have several stages of growth

    quoted for emphasis.

Tree growth is a highly random process, and with the various stages the time has increased massively. in stead of having a "lucky" tree grow fast, at best you have a lucky 1-stage advance. this probably means that statistically, tree growth is more uniform than before

In my world, I am running the current version of BTW.

The leaves are natural, so I suspect player placed leaves might have something to do with it.

AFAIK jungle spiders spawn on natural jungle leaves during any time of the day. So even during the day you are not safe.

razing a rainforest thus makes it safe from these spiders. I do believe a height factor is included so it won't spawn on the top of a tall tree and drop onto you from 20 blocks above.

EDIT: any decisions made based upon this information are at your own risk. Burning a forest down may cause a fire hazard. Chopping down a tree or climbing one should always be performed with the correct personal protection equipment. making the jungle spider an extinct monster may have a detrimental effect on biodiversity.

Perhaps - just feel some people abuse this by having one windmill to power their entire base sometimes

I sometimes mitigate the "damage" by adding an additional water wheel.

Also, sometimes it's cheaper to make another water wheel than to place a power line with the now more expensive gear boxes.
