I would like to know what all of them are, so I don't get the impression that you're blowing smoke that there are that many good tweaks to vanilla that BTW makes that the majority of the community would like.

    The things i value most:

    Mossy Cobble Farming.

    Animal Breeding Tweaks

Limited Pig Men, Slime and Magma Slime Spawning

Mossy and cracked stone bricks can be made by running water/lava over it.

    Villagers drop XP.

    Babies Can't Jump:

Note: I have the feeling a few tweaks are missing from the OP. Like the ability to make mossy stone bricks and cracked stone bricks by using water respectively lava.

Eh, whatever floats his boat. I think recently though they've been working decent amounts on both parts, as well as adding new aesthetics to the game such as pots, item frames and what have you. While they aren't necessarily as useful as the pots in BTW, it would be a nice touch for the game.

Also, dinnerbone is nerfing XP grinders. While I don't fully agree with it, I do think it is a adequate start for making minecraft less combat-centered.

Not to mention the wither is coming, and that will give more reason to go on adventures(gotta find it somehow)

I see a dozen tweaks BTW makes that i would prefer over the entire coming snapshot.

Animals picking up wheat and spawn restrictions are among them...

    Is it compatible with TooManyItems?

    Technologically, yes.

That's where it about ends tho, as BTW is best played legit.

Oh wow, I totally brain-farted on the 5K posts. I don't think I've ever even seen a "Portal Expert" before :)

Congratz on being a portal expert :D

What?! This has nothing to do with anything of everything of wolves! Unless mechanical stuff is really better than a wolf. But this is still cool, because it has platform blocks which makes scaling higher places easier.

Where in the title does it say it has to do with wolves?

This is better than a vMC wolf. The collection BTW encompasses the BTW wolf, and BTW wolves are better than vMC wolves, therefore BTW as a whole is much better than vMC wolves.

Haha yes! Found that gem back when pistons were released in a suggestion topic about magnets. Never did figure out if it was a troll or genuine, either way it was deserving of a sig.

yea it looks like someone continuing on the "miracles" thing.

Did practically cry from laughing when i read your sig.

Optimal poo conditions depend on a few things. It should be dark, they should have space immediately around them, and they will not poo if they are hungry.

Your sig.... did someone actually say that?

I almost asked a question regarding what mods ARE compatible with BTW but from what Ive seen in this thread I only expect a rude and condecending answer. Ive recieved an infraction already and I wasnt nearly as confrontational as what Ive read here. What is it with you people anyway? Why even make mods at all if its so annoying to deal with the userbase?

I know this is an older post, but i think you're a soul that can be saved.

1: The people here have become quite reactional to the post. Nice, proper posts give a nice, proper reaction. Assholes get an asshole reaction.
Unfortunate side-effects are that sometimes, the sheer amount of rude and improper posts makes "rude" the default reply to everything, even the very rare good post.

2: From what i've seen, the Moderators are proper people. If you got an infraction, you deserved it. The internet is changing from a magical dimension with no consequence to a more natural extension of our real world. You might want to change your internet behavior to be closer to how you'd be in real-life. Following the real-life etiquette will very likely produce nice, proper answers and good help.

3: The only way point 2 doesn't work, is with the people who don't follow these rules themselves. I was foolish and tried to reason with RP's mindless goons (To clarify: the group of RP followers who behave like mindless goons. I hope/bet that RP has a more insightful and mature part of it's fanbase that wouldn't do crap like that). Even though i felt i was trying to be polite and bring a bridging view between our worlds, it only got replied to with dirt and crap.

which brings me to lesson 4:

4: If someone throws crap, you can do one of three things:
-drop the banhammer on him (if you're a mod)
    -press the report button
-walk away, because the only way to stay clean in a mudfight is away from it.

    Holy cow!

So many updates. So many wonderful, useful updates.

Makes me wonder tho, is this to compensate for all the people screaming for updates? Basically force-feeding them till they go mad and jump off a cliff?

    this is just fabulous.

Trying to get a block to collect items on collision. Well it worked like a charm in 1.2.5, but right now it screws up. When the inventory is full, the items don't go over the block but drop inside. AHHH the frustration!

I may not know enough java to even make a single block, but I do know how massive the decompiled nightmare of Minecraft is and my hat is off for every mod developer out there working through this latest release and having to endure the chaotic nightmare of people in the forums.

I do know a bit of it, and it's a mess. Tons and tons of code changed, and although many things changed just a bit, it's all over the place.

I do like certain architectural changes. IE, the way Creative inventory is handled now (it's specified per item and block).

On the us versus everyone thing:

While i think that the BTW'ers are somewhat more mature about this than the Forge people, i think the constant interaction with, well, idiots that ask stupid questions has left us kind of biased against other people.

Anyway, i think i can stand above that. I liked Forge, and i liked the mods associated with it. I enjoyed playing with them, i didn't hate them. The thing that makes BTW stand out for me, is the more persistent feeling of accomplishment.

I don't like Redpower, but that's for a very different reason: i understand the ideology behind it, i just don't like the implementation. That said, i think the major technic forge mods should never have crossed on eachother's territory to begin with. BC should've stuck to building and logistics, IC should've stayed with electricity and industry and RP should've stayed with logic.

That's the problem with Forge. It's attempts to remove redundancy are what causes it to be a big monster of code, whereas keeping to it's actual core and sacrificing a bit of compatibility would've left it a million times bigger and more successful.

Forge's aim was to make common baseclass edits merged in an API. Right now, it's pretty much every little edit put into an API.

At first i thought, "Why is FC kinda breaking his policy on loads of updates quick."

then i noticed what you're fixing, and yea it's big enough to warrant a new release.

So yea, happily downloading as you fix the game for us. (And quite a bit of vanilla as usual :D)

    What the ****.

This is the weirdest thing i've EVER seen. I was messing around with ItemStack mergers, and now i have two gold blocks teleporting themselves repeatedly. They teleport to the beginning of my waterstream, then float down it, wait for a few seconds and teleport again.

They can't be picked up. Holy cow.

The annoying thing about dropped items auto-stacking is that there's no feedback whatsoever.

So it constantly looks like stuff despawns and falls through blocks and other weird illusions.

Yes. And don't make the mistake of thinking you can do it then stop at a 1/2 heart then stop working and still live. I did that, and I died.

Actually, i didn't stop at half a heart and kept punching the handcrank. However, on Normal you don't die from hunger, as it stops at half a heart.

So really, you could just dig yourself in, keep punching the thing till you can build a windmill or whatever and then eat...

Anyway, yea i did die from a skeleton shooting an arrow at me while at half a heart. But that's because the tiny tiny island next to mine was dark (mine was lit), and a skeleton spawned and insta-gibbed me.

Gotta say: Mobs are really FUBAR. I withstood a skeleton attack by punching the thing twice, into the water. Then it swam off. On 1.2.5, i would've died pretty much instantly.

Second thing: Skeletons are especially FUBAR. I got attacked by arrows being spawned in the wrong place, so Skeletons could shoot at me while they were 2 blocks lower (at the edge of a cliff).

Skeletons and Zombies have FUBAR AI, but surprisingly spiders and creepers seem to work just fine...

I seem to have vanilla placeholder textures for all BTW blocks, not sure what the problem is. I did optifine, modloader, & btw. I also get the same result when i use a supported 32x32 BTW texture pack.

I'm not getting any results using previous BTWMODTEX folders, the game isn't reading the path to the location to obtain textures.

Yea i had the same weird thing.

I fixed it by copying Modloader and BTW again to my Jar file.
