I wonder why people in general are incapable of using the "search" feature on the website to answer their own questions, seeing how this is asked so often it's ridiculous.

Simple. Why spend 2 minutes on google when you can post in 30 seconds? human laziness knows no limit.

This topic has a pretty negative atmosphere, doesn't it now? It's all well and good that you don't like Mojang's latest features, but you seem to be bashing them a bit now.

That's what you get when you have hopes,, only to watch them being crushed every time like a game of whack-a-mole, and any and all communication you attempt only causes the whacking to be harder, not softer.

Having played other industrial mods... no this is not "just another industrial mod". It also maintains the feeling of Vanilla unlike most industrial mods. I would suggest you just play it rather than try and discern the contents of a book by it's cover.

It doesn't say what Minecraft version this is in anywhere.

Nah this mod doesn't contain forgery.

Almost as if you can't have everything at once immediately in BTW ;)

Nah, that's only if you don't get the golden dung. :)

Well, it does add "realism" in the sense that it adds realistic expectations. Like, what if i try to infuse pots with the souls of hell in a way that isn't optimal? Should i wear hats? Do wolves digest rotten meat? Is being dropped in the middle of nowhere with no resources easy to survive? Is punching trees the optimal path for wood processing? Can i automate tedious tasks? Do my wolves have hatsies and bootsies? The mod answers with stuff that makes sense. So yes, realistic expectations. Realistic? no.

Oh and my favorite, the one i always forget isn't in vanilla: Animals eat food that lies in front of them. Like you expect to.

Breaking a block uses up hunger, gathering a lot of sugar cane means breaking a lot of blocks, so it follows making wicker means using a lot of hunger. Iron Axes to help balance them out cause no food penalty for hacking down vegetation.

You can break down 2 sugarcane for the price of 1, so i don't think it's that bad actually. It also depends on the level of progress. Once you have a decent farm of any (edible) kind, you can pretty much pay the cost. Even if you're eating seeds.

desserts can be eaten regardless of how much hunger you have, so you can build up on fat.

Great mod, but can you please add the ability to toggle individual hardcore features in the config? I like the idea of most of them, but I feel that some of them kind of contradict with the creative aspect of Minecraft. I mean, Minecraft is supposed to be both about survival and building. If I wanted pure survival, I'd be playing Don't Starve.

I'm currently building a 22x22 mobtrap. BTW doesn't just hand me the tools, but encourages me to build, more than ever, more creative (not-the-game-mode-creative), bigger and better.

The differences is that it now has a part where you need to crawl out of the mud first. I've never appreciated a stone pick this much.

Pretty sure it's a troll, only 1 forum post.

Well technically we all started with 1 forum post....are we trolls? are we human? are we dancers?

Hardcore Hoofsies is worth starting a new game. Bow & arrows are no longer optional if you want leather. Dig it!

Ahh, 2011, what a great year

    EDIT:

What the? the post i see is very different from the quote i get....

Personally I don't ignore the gold/iron sat in the ground- if I have the space to carry it I probably will. I may have spent ages designing that the mob trap- but the metal I dig out the ground always feels like I've earned it.
Maybe I'm just being a sentimental old fart, but there's something quite satisfying about keeping a separate pile of nuggets.

Those ores have been too much of a pain to acquire in the past to suddenly now ignore them. I'm mining the stuff i come across, i almost feel obliged to given my earlygame situation.

led this mod in the wrong direction.

(P.S. I love the hardcore updates, but the only reason I'm writing this is so that I can play it in a more casual situation, like with friends.)

    Quote from GuitarFreak392»
I simply felt that the "hardcore" extension was perhaps a little too far for a casual player like me.

I can point out what you did wrong. (just trying to help).

1: a different direction is not a wrong direction.
2: you claim it's for friends then say it's for you. So you were lying the first time.

there's no need to praise FC to communicate. But not-coming-across-like-a-**** is usually required.

I can't imagine using screw pumps, the most clunkiest space consumption designs which has no room in my discrete & compact builds, so i settle within mountains that have a water source on top which feeds everything.

unrelated to the above quotes. This is entirely legit.

    I guess so.

Hint: I don't think he likes you.

You're not the first to say this, probably not the last either. I like the idea that we're individuals and all, but when it comes to stuff like this, it's pretty much the same drill over and over and over again.
