Quote from Infinity000»Anyone else foreseeing a subscription model coming into play for even PC Minecraft, making all those of us who have bought the game pay again for it? Or a model similar to Sims, where you have to pay for extra furniture and items and features? I look at this sale and can see the dark clouds over the horizon. Perhaps the storm will pass with little damage, or the next Hurricane Sandy lands on shore. I am very wary of this.
why would they? minecraft is making a ton of money not just via the regular sales, but also by merchandise like those dolls and crap. You can expect them to pull off a "facebook buys oculus rift". People scream, company keeps things the same and months later nobody cares

If you are mining coal at the lowest strata, you're doing coal mining wrong.
I have no clue why you keep old Jars around and stuff, but isn't a proper update method on your end far easier?
The BTW rar is always named for it's version, so no confusion there. The Minecraft.jar is always that, so obviously if you keep old versions around, put the original .jar, original Modloader.rar and original BTW.rar in a folder with the correct minecraft version as it's name.
Or do it like i do it: dump the new BTW in the .jar file, copy the .minecraft folder to your desktop and just forget previous versions.

iron etc ore drops their correct stone type and gem ores silk-touch their correct stone types

required time is inversely related to the amount of machines. So, if you need a cubic stack of wood siding, and you need it quick, you need a lot of saws.

Windmills, what windmills?
Well, the worst part of the later suggestions was that they never come alone. It's usually a huge post summing up already turned-down ideas

it sounds like it could be vanilla MC causing it, did you check?
otherwise it's wasted time.

Oh no it's not back to the item form that i'm worried about, i can live with that.
It's this recipe flow:
Quartz block -> quartz slab -> Chiseled quartz
chiseled quartz -> quartz slab
I would like the ability to turn chiseled quartz back to regular quartz blocks so i can make sidings and stuff with them. Right now chiseled quartz feels like a punishment. they can only be made back into slabs and slabs can only be made into chiseled quartz.

could we get some kind of reversal recipe for quartz blocks? I made some chiseled quartz blocks but they only turn back to slabs. It would be great if i could turn slabs back to blocks or chiseled quartz back to regular blocks.

Till then: play safe and avoid death. Avoid "fair" fights. Play smart. Time is a resource.

there are people who will adjust immediately, and people who need time. and people who need LOADS of time (it was months before i turned from TMI and cheating like hell and doing legit BTW).
Just keep hoping that the people who wanna wreck their experience will, one day, decide to start over and get immersed in a whole new and exiting, challenging game they've never experienced before.

13 planks is like, 4 logs. seriously?

Depends on how much coal you mine. with Fortune III, one stack of ore becomes roughly 2.5 stacks of coal. I've had days where i comfortably dug up 4 stacks of coal ore in 1 go.
But i guess it kinda was a luxury anyway.
So the coal block still leaves me at "ugly block i dont care about".

me neither. Well, its useful when mining coal with a Fortune pick, but otherwise i just go "it's a boring block".
It's an ugly block that burns. woot *sacasm*

In fact, in vanilla, 1 coal smelts 8 items. a coal block smelts 8*8 = 64 , PLUS 8.
Which is a horrible thing.

Or, maybe, half hunger is a horribly low amount of nutrition?
have you by any chance got fat on you? without fat the hunger bar decreases a LOT faster.

Will do but i need a proper world to test it in first . it was just intended to be a quick test to see what happens. i find it just as weird as you tho.
What i did learn is that my FPS indicator on F3 in no way represents how smooth gameplay is.
