    Ele, those ferns look fine as an old whiskey. (old whiskey gets better as it ages if anyone didn't know XD)

    Amazing; that bed looks rather comfortable, although might I suggest having the fabric of the blanket flow down past the bed's frame on the side a bit. It would give it a bit of a unique look.

    There are no such thing as a 'good' pvp pack. Most are either ripoffs of Vattic's or HiTeen's Faithful with crappy additions. The majority of the packs on Youtube are all plagiarized and promoted as that Youtuber's work when in reality they didn't even lay a pixel down.

    Although there are hundreds of valid packs that might make your pvp experience a bit more unique rather than a crutch

    Unfortunately minecraft doesn't separate the snowball from it's thrown counterpart, so I'd gamble it's impossible.

    Not sure if I prefer the outline on these or not:
    carrot(stylised) gold sword
    Any thoughts?

    Also any other feedback about the textures is welcome.

    I'll third sans outline. Very nice btw.

    I know it's total crap... that's why I'll use a backup .txt of all my code in my OPs... although it also helps when your backup wasn't locked in a hard drive.

    Speaking of which I'll have to finally repair my OP for Chromatose here...

    Hi Meep, glad to see you're still kickin... and apparently some serious glutes with them textures. That cobblestone looks brilliant. Diggin the grass and dirt, stone looks awesome but may I suggest adding hints of red in the iron ore to give it a bit of color variation. (sorry if I assumed wrong).

    The only thing I have to say positive is that you built a working resource pack. Kudos to you on that. However, if I may recommend taking Alvoria's words to heart. Build up your skills through practice, experimentation, observation and understanding. Do have fun but make it a learning experience, you will see that progress will happen.

    Ride that spiral Blueberry. it looks spectacular! I'm assuming that's Grass side/dirt/stone respectively?

    Not joining myself... I have too much on my plate to begin with however I always love spectating these simple pack challenges, they always produce spectacular visions.

    I agree with blueberry, try to have the shadow follow the grass 'blades'. Also I really really dig that cobblestone it's got some major style and flavor in my eyes. Although it could be the color choice really appealing to me.

    I'm still fond of the name Texture Artist's Union as it uses the letter Tau from the greek alphabet and is related to the Golden Ratio; a tool used by artists for centuries to measure beauty to the eyes (even though phi is the current term for it)

    posted a message on UNDERSTANDING SIMPLICITY/MINIMALISM

    Well thank you Al for not hitting me with the off topic, I've always loved simplicity, although it does have different meaning to me as a painter... to me simplicity is measured on many possibilites.

    Brush Economy, being one, some people think that you have to spend 40+ hours to achieve great works. However a couple painters come to mind that give understanding that making marks in the right spots always yield excellent results. Cezanne, Zorn, Hakusai just for a few.

    They make every mark count.

    Then there's also palette choice as what was described by someone earlier about another game that only had a 5 color palette. Anders Zorn as I previously mentioned also had a very limited palette of Zinc White, Ivory black, Yellow Ochre and Vermilion. While limited in terms of pixel graphics is different. The concept remains the same. Having a unified palette helps keep the pack together.

    There's also pattern as seen with an old coligue of the Union, 42and19. He built a whole pack using the same pattern and to an effect that was so brilliant it shone with the light of a thousand suns (metaphorically speaking.)

    Anywho, yabbering on...

    Long story short, simplicity isn't that simple.

    Having a hard time nesting a repeated pattern into a ctm. I want the center tile of the ctm to have a larger pattern, I tried following the steps listed on the sample properties file but it isn't working. It just skips over the ctm bit and makes all of the blocks the repeated pattern. This is what I have so far for my hardened_clay.properties file.

    matchBlocks=hardened_clay
    method=ctm
    tiles=48-59 64-75 80-91 96-107
    weight=1

    matchTiles=mcpatcher/ctm/clay/85.png
    method=repeat
    width=2
    height=2
    tiles=61 62 77 78

    Does the CTM itself work without the repeated part? (by that I mean remove the .properties for the repeated part and see if the CTM works first.)

    Also you don't need weight for CTM, that's only for Random
