Been trying to get into the mood of mapping, but I'm lacking inspiration :/ Hopefully I'll be more motivated if I sleep on it or something

I see nothing wrong with using hard clay as a base block, it will add a lot of interesting colour variation which hasn't been seen in CTM maps before. I think it would be particularly interesting combined with sandstone to make deserts a little more interesting.
Im not a huge fan of the clay, but I feel there great for just adding that little bit more to an area, As a base block, It would need to be with some other blocks, But overall I think there pretty good

As you might've guessed, I just got back from camp. Had a fantastic time there, gonna have to take a day or two to wind down from everything I did. Check my twitter if you're interested in any stories or other things I might post about what I did. I've got plenty to share!
So aside from the block combination conversation on this page, (which I agree wih the more conservative side of things, as I go more for fewer block types that mesh together) I haven't been able to read over the past ten pages or so. Can anyone fill me in on anything important that might have happened? Any and all details are appreciated.

Im currently chating with karrott and skeeto about an area of karrotts new map needing better blocks and block combo. So I pose this question to all of you
Community question: Do you guys prefer an area with 1-3 blocks for a block combo(Like a minecraft cave) or, Do you prefer a wide amount of blocks like 6-12 for a block combo (like skyward ascent) Personnally I always liked a lot of block combo, Always gives me something different to see which is something cfg has blown us out of the water with
