posted a message on Can't Craft on Pocket Mine Server?
I made a Pocket Mine server today (Beta build #855) on my PC and all of my friends can join, but none of us can craft. We try to craft something and it immediately disappears from our inventories. Everybody is opped, there is no spawn protection. I had essentials for pocket mine installed, I removed the plugin thinking it was causing issues and the crafting problems still persist. Any ideas?

Oh, and does Pocket Mine support mobs? Is there a way to install a plugin or something so they will spawn? I can see that in server.properties there are "spawn-animals=on, and spawn-monsters=on" options, but I haven't seen any mobs on my server at all.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

posted a message on Clueless for servers now, was previously fine.
Alright, first off, this is the first time I have really made a thread or anything on this forum, so let me apologize ahead of time if it is in the wrong place. Pretty much, all I did before was follow a thread that was for a server I played on like two years ago, but that great server died a long. Long. Time ago. :/

Anyway, in Minecraft 1.7.x, I could run a server perfectly fine for me and my friends to play on, however, now that there have been updates, etc, I'm lost. I can't make myself an op first of all, I don't know how to access the ".json" files the server.exe now creates. They previously were .txt, and were pretty self explanatory. I would like to be able to teleport to and from my friends and spawn. that is pretty much it, but yeah. Impossible now that the file type is all weird. Also, I noticed that when I tried "/spawn" it said the command didn't exist at all... What? Previously, /spawn and /tp were available on vanilla servers, and the rest of the things like /home etc required bukkit and essentials. I really would hate if they removed /spawn, etc for some reason... ._.

I really am lost and need clarification for all that have changed with the new server version. Also, will/is there a version of bukkit available for 1.8 servers?

Are the god rays and waving leaves supposed to be gone...? :( I am using the SEUS_v10.1_preview1.zip shaderpack.

I liked v09 better than this to be honest (Besides the god-awful looks there were when it rained/snowed, for me at least) But I just prefered v09. Godrays... Leaves, grass, and wheat waving properly... Non-reflective, but less taxing water that waved...

Anyway, I don't know if I am just encountering a bug, but my godrays and waving leaves are gone (Waving grass is fine).

    My specs if it helps...

    Intel Core Sandybridge i5 quad-core @3.3ghz
Radeon HD 6950 w/ either 1 or 2 dedicated RAM to graphics (Can't remember if it was 1 or 2 :/)
    8GB of DDR3 RAM

Heh, that should be enough I guess. But please, I want my godrays and waving trees back :(

Oh, and also, I changed to v08 and it has waving trees but no waving grass, but I prefer the overall quality of v10 other than that.

LAN server. Other people need to have OldDays installed, but settings will be sent automatically. (Even if you change them in game, everyone will instantly get them)

But with lan everyone has to be connected to the same wifi network I meant like a server where anyone from anywhere can connect.. I am guessing its impossible to do this on a server that is not local area network :/

also why do I get such huge lag spikes when using this mod? my computer runs minecraft at 150 fps+ and never gets lagspikes unless im using this mod its really really bad sometimes, like stuck at 0 frames for 15 seconds. I have 8GB of DDR3 RAM a radeon hd 6950 2gb and an intel core sandybridge 2500k @3.3 ghz quad core... I know it is sort of outdated but still runs things perfectly fine, including vanilla minecraft, but with this mod... normal smooth frames then I randomly drop to 0 frames for several seconds or so.

IS there any way that I could use this for SMP? If the other person has the mod installed and I have a certain set of things for the Olddays and they do too or something? And is there anyway I could get an old map into the server files or will it work at all? :( I just want my server to be almost exactly how it was back in LATE alpha stages or very early beta stages... like beta 1.2 when I got minecraft :(

    EDIT

I did some screwing around and put an old map into the server files and it worked except I couldnt use olddays and all the biomes were screwed up... and after awhile there was a chunk error where the map had not rendered yet and it switched to how the current build generates :/ I just want to use a server, not a lan server, where you can actually play like it was back in oooollllld minecraft days, like beta 1.2 I dont think there would be a way to make an olddays server but if there is it would be really cool >_>

Should this mod work with Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders? I am using that and single player commands won't work.. I drag everything into the bin META-INF is already gone obviously and nothing happens. I go onto my world and none of the commands work. Does it not work if you have cheats enabled? :(

can anyone link me to a jar file already with this mod in it?

It is illegal. It is distributing the game for free allowing everyone to get their hands on it. If it weren't illegal, every single mod would have that already.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Looks like I'll have to be saving up some money then. D:

Actually... You'd need to pay more than $100-$130 for a decent experience with this mod. My card that I am using at the moment costs roughly $220. I get about 40 fps with the shaders. Sorry to disappoint...

What are the required specs for this to run smoothly?

Well I dont know what you consider "smooth" because many people have different preferences for their preferred fps, like for me, I like fps 50ish+ and others are fine with only 80+, while there are some who like 20+ but anyway, my system specs: intel quad core i5 sandybridge 2500k @3.3ghz with a radeon hd 6950 2gb, and I get a consistent 40-50+ fps on normal render distance, and everything else at max. 30+ fps with the same specs on far render distance. This is using a 256x texture pack (LB Photo Realism). I get the same results with default texture. Hope this puts things into perspective. Normal minecraft I get 120+ fps, full settings.

[ALSO] Where can I get my hands on v10 which has the water and stuff? What version of minecraft is it for?

[EDIT] Alright, found out myself. Got v10 installed and i have many things to say about it... The new water shader addition. It looks really nice up close, but even in the smallest distance away, the reflections turn into a gritty mess and it looks awful. The surface of the water is also very very clear and you can see right down to the bottom of whatever body of water you are looking at (which looks very strange and unnatural. This is the case all the time, but it's especially bad in dim lighting conditions, and at night) I see a LOT of possibilities coming out of what there is now. The new affect when you look at the sun is fantastic! Shadows however, are acting a bit strange. The shadows from trees are as dark, if not darker than before, but the shadows coming from the land is barely noticeable and it looks weird when there are many trees in the landscape because it forms many dark masses among an area that is just one single light level. Shadows during the sunset look horrible now (Yes they were bad before, too) Random areas of the shadows from the land turn night time blueish and other stay the same. All shadows stretch out like crazy among the landscape like before still (understandable because obviously, the shadow is based on the angle of the sun, which becomes parallel during sun-set and sun-rise). But the improved shadows from the moonlight look fantastic! There also seems to be a difference in the color of lighting all around and that looks great too. v10 is lookin' good!

By the way, I HAVE Optifine! But how do I "patch" with Optifine?

Lol... Trolls... Trolls everywhere... Well you must be a troll because if you have optifine at all then the texturepack would work completely fine. Optifine and mcpatcher are two different things. Optifine is a mod that you download and unpack to your minecraft.jar. It makes all HD texture packs (32x+) work properly and optifine also gives you a nice fps boost along with many more in-depth video options to help push this fps boost further.

McPatcher however, is a .exe file that you run and it adjusts minecraft to the hd texture and removes all the problems that would be brought on by the texturepack. "Patching" is using mcpatcher, and using optifine is installing the mod itself. Learn your terms before flaming at people and acting like a blaring idiot.

    ***ANYWAY***

What I was going to post in the first place was this:

Tekkit support please ^_^ lol ik it will most likely NEVER happen but it would be cool if you found some helpers and carried this huge task out... Also, to any of you who dont know, tekkit is a HUGE modpack of over 40 mods and it brings machines, quarries, chest upgrades, magic, new tools, armor, and more! The single player version is called technic and it adds everything from tekkit, but there is more, like mo' creatures. You can check it out and get the technic launcher here, where you can use Voxel Modpack, Volts, Yogbox, HackandMine, Technic, and Tekkit from one launcher: http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/ on the page there is a green button that says "Download the Technic Launcher", just click that and open the launcher and select your modpack you want to use and you are ready to go.

Hey... I just want to say, this mod looks FANTASTIC! But I am just wondering something... The pack works fine, I get all the waving grass, shadows, bloom, god ray, everything like that, but the waving leaves won't work. I have v9 Ultra, and the shadows seem to be moving a bit like the leaves are waving, but they aren't moving in the slightest bit. I have a radeon hd 6950 2gb in case that has something to do with it. Also, I have the latest drivers.

    [Edit] DOF also lacks existence.

[Edit 2] Oh, figured it out, forgot to add waving grass/leaves and DOF. *facepalm* After I added those I found out I didnt like DOF so I took that out.
