My answer to this is rather mixed. People may say that bats are useless, because they have no use in a survival situation, they cannot provide any materials and are just taking up space that COULD be taken up by the 16-bit computer you wish you could build, right? Well, although they cannot provide any materials, they are an aesthetic feature to make minecraft more realistic. I am going to say my opinion on a few things people said.

No. That'd be too easy. The only way to get a golden chicken at first is by throwing the diamond or emerald eggs. Bit of a waste, but there's a small chance for a golden chick to hatch. Once you got 1 all grown up, you can use the golden eggs that it lays to get more and start your gold imperium.
Ah ok. And also, in all my 1.7.10 mod Showcases, i am going to use the golden chicken as a pet! i have one ready, it will be uploaded later today!

As for your suggestions.
You suggest turning the egg shells into armor. But I don't think that's a very good idea. Egg shells break real easily. It wouldn't be very good armor. If a zombie or skeleton hits you, it'd break and you'd have to walk around naked. Funny, but nobody would craft that.
And you also suggest making it so that you have to add alcohol to make eggnog. It's true eggnog has alcohol in it. But it's hard to get alcohol in minecraft. There's some mods that allow you to brew things. And usually they use sugar or mushrooms to start making the alcohol with wheat or hopps or grapes and the likes. Even minecraft itself uses sugar. You get fermented spider eyes if you add mushrooms and sugar. Fermented means it's producing alcohol. So that's why eggy goodness uses sugar to make alcohol from the egg and milk mix instead of adding it in. This way it also works in vanilla minecraft and you don't need other mods for alcohol.
You also mention it's a waste to peel the expensive eggs. Yes, it is. But when you got a whole golden chicken farm. What better way to enjoy all your wealth by eating golden emerald and diamond eggs for breakfast, lunch and dinner. ;-P

Well, i'm a terrible animator, but i know that Blender is the best free one out there, Mine-Imator could work, but it is very difficult to make Mine-Imator animations look professional. Maya is also good, however it costs money.
There are many servers that have anti-curse filters. The problem is that people can use symbols in place of letters in the words, so your child may still hear them. I suggest contacting the server owner, becuase it is actually pretty rare to find a server that is FUN to play on AND has an anti curse filter, do NOT play on any small-time vanilla servers, becuase one time i went on one and there were about 50 F-bombs in the chat box. Oh, and this suggestion might work for you: You can simply make it so your child cannot see any chat by clicking esc, then clicking multiplayer settings, then selecting chat to hidden.
And as ebiladdress said, censorship is becoming an issue in video games. My family is VERY anti-censorship, and here are some pushing-the-limit accusations i have heard parents make of minecraft: One parent complained that minecraft's unrealistic-ness caused her child to fail in school. I mean, really? Or, Minecraft is anti-christian because the Nether is like Satan's realm, and because you get good materials there it encourages that Satan's Hometown is a positive place. Or that the Orespawn mod encourages domestic violence, i mean, some people are crazy.
But back to your idea: In my opinion, the servers are fine how they are now and there ARE servers with anti-curse filters. Also you can just hide the chat altogether. Also ebiladdress said that it would be a good idea to simply monitor your child playing, but that might be illogical at times, so in my opinion you can A.) hide the chat, B.) find a server that has an anti-swear filter, C.) Don't play multiplayer altogether.
