    Easiest thing would be to download Multi MC and create a new instance. Run that instance Let it d/l the minecraft files, exit the game. Right click the new instance/edit mods/ click the forge button and get the newest build. Than just add your mods in and move your world files to the new instances folder.

    Once I got Multi MC I haven't looked back

    Also what mods are you wanting to install? Most Forge mods are labeled Forge compatible. And Forge has integrated Modloader into it now.

    RP 2 is in Alpha stage on the server he is playing on but IC2 is available on open beta at http://www.industrial-craft.net/ Not too buggy.

    No timeline yet on when RP2 will be out on 1.4.2 but we are all waiting with baited breath
