Sorry for the radio silence. School got the best of us, but summer is almost here so we plan to hopefully start development up again soon. It will be a bit slow at the start however, because we are going to be re-writing the mod from the ground up.

Sorry for the lack of updates. This mod is on hold for now, as we haven't had any time to develop it over the summer since we are working full time. Hopefully when school starts up we have some more free time to develop.

More good ideas have a GUI for the baton instead of cycling it, that way you can quick select modes and have slots for the Lightcycles and Lightjets, and a glider pack upgrade for the body armor (all shown in Tron Legacy).

As for entering/exiting the grid, obviously you need the laser (works with entities or players in front of it), and the return portal platform (with entities or players on top of it).

A better baton selector is on the to-do list, but we want to finish getting the functionality of the baton done before we work to much on things like that. Our current idea is having it so you can bind a desired mode to a button press, so that you can switch to it on a moments notice, but it may not be that when we get around to it.

The grid is a long way off, but yes, the entering and exiting is going to be like in the movies.

dude are u making the light cycle update right now?

Nope, just had a lot of school work and haven't had much time to code. We are still finishing up some armor and baton functionality before we're going to make the light cycles, so it may be a little while, sorry.

This mod has some promise, hopefully it will survive long enough to be finished.

I'm a big fan of Tron and it's style, having this in Minecraft will be fun.

If you haven't thought of them yet, add the tanks and Recognizers as more vehicles the player can use, and color customizing for the items or set the trim/circuit colors on the player so anything they use changes to them (like in both movies when Flynn "borrowed" the vehicles).

    Thank you!

no I'm trying to but as a kid its hard to figuire out

After installing the latest java 7 for mac:
Go to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html, scroll down until you see "Java SE Runtime Environment 7u76", click accept licence agreement, then click the link that says "jre-7u76-macosx-x64.dmg"

    1. Open a terminal.
    2. Type: java -version.
    3. If that doesn't say java version "1.7.0_76" somewhere then type the following: "export JAVA_HOME=`/usr/libexec/java_home -v 1.7`".
    4. Close the terminal
    5. Open a new terminal
    6. Type java-version. It should now say java version "1.7.0_76" somewhere.
    Hopefully this works for you.

are going to reply soon I've waited a while now

Go to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html, scroll down until you see "Java SE Runtime Environment 7u76", click accept licence agreement, then click the link that says "jre-7u76-macosx-x64.dmg" (I'm assuming you are on a Mac since you Java version in the crash log says Apple"). Download that and install it. Then you NEED to follow the instructions from the link I provided in my earlier post. The website may say Java 7 when you check your version, because the browser plug-in recognizes the install, but you need to tell your computer that it has Java 7 installed so it will use that.
    Quote from TronRinzler»
are there any mod reviews on the new update and any screen shots of the new update

The OP was updated, new screenshots can be found under the "Features" section. No, there are no new mod reveiws yet.

Sorry for the late reply, but I've had two midterms and an interveiw for an intership to worry about this week.

thank you i tried updating it i guess i have to update again do u have the link for it maybe i was using the wrong download
and does java 8 work for this mod

Java 8 can have some issues with Forge so stick to Java 7.
    Quote from TronRinzler»
    its java 7 update 75

Okay, however it seems that minecraft is still using Java Version: 1.6.0_65, Apple Inc., which must be the default version on your computer. To double check this run "java -version" in a terminal and you should see something that says "java version "1.7.0_75"" in the output. If you don't try following the instructions detailed here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21964709/how-to-change-default-java-version to change it to the correct version. Disclaimer, I am not responsible for any damages to your computer that may result from incorrect execution of these directions.

To answer your questions, We are not yet on spring break, but we hope to add the light cycles in the next major update and maybe the grid in the next major update or two. Secondly, the current version of the mod is 3.0a, and finally, it seems that your minecraft is still using java 6, which is likely the cause of the issue.

Hello everyone! It has been quite a long time since our last update. We’re sorry, school has been busy, and we had some bug fixes in this update that took a lot longer than we thought they would! Needless to say, this is quite a major update for us!

    Dedication
As some of you may know, on February 1st , Rooster Teeth Employee Monty Oum passed away due to a severe allergic reaction during a medical procedure. We have decided to dedicate this mod to his memory because he promoted hard work and creativity in all aspects of life. Rest in peace Monty.

    New Ore!
With the 3.0 alpha update a new mysterious ore has shown up in the world of Minecraft, energinium. It can be mined with a stone pick, and pulses with a small amount of energy similar to Liquid energy. It can be smelted into ingots, and its crystalline structure makes you think it could be crafted into powerful tools and armor.

    Armor!
This new energinium ore can be crafted into armor! You put on this sleek looking armor and feel its power. However, it doesn’t seem to be very protective, if only there were some way to upgrade it…

    Upgrade System!
Both the new armor and the baton will now use our new upgrade system! To upgrade armor or the baton, you must craft an upgrade for in (i.e. Sword Upgrade) and place them in a crafting table together. These upgrades can bring the armor and baton up to diamond levels!

    Module system!
The baton now uses the module system! From now on, when crafted the baton will only have pickaxe mode by default (batons created before this update will be grandfathered in, don’t worry), and you will need to add modules to get a shovel, sword, axe, or hoe. Similar to the upgrade system, you will need to craft the modules and add them via the crafting bench.

    Identity Disc orbital flight!
The Identity disc now will find its way back to you when flying! It also will bounce off solid object when it impacts them!

    Other notes
Identity Disc and baton now have new crafting recipes to include the new ore.
