posted a message on Custom weapon textures?

    Hey there!

I've noticed something interesting with a server I was playing on. (Vanilla server)

They were able to make custom weapons using a resource pack. For example, they had a 3d druid staff made from a stick, while they kept the stick an actual item.

I'm curious, how do I assign custom textures to items while keeping the original item? I'd assume some sort of command block, but I'm unsure!

The idea of this mod is the longer you stand in darkness, the more your brightness goes up to a maximum of around 50% (customizable?), and when you find a light source, your eyes adjust to the light, and the dark areas become darker again.

Perhaps the darker the light level you're standing in, the faster the brightness goes up.

From what I'm hearing, you need a good computer for super secret settings to work. They work just fine for me. It's pretty much a built in shaders changer. Lots and lots of different shaders too, pretty neat!

    I have a cracked Minecraft. :/

Anyways, there are more screenshots in Reddit. The Clay Canyon was renamed to "Mesa"?

Cracked? Just buy the silly game! Seriously, isn't it illegal to have cracked versions?

posted a message on Xbox Controller Mod (Not what you think!)

Im assuming your using something like xpadder, look into the deadzone settings and sensitivity controls, that's exactly what your looking for. And its not a mod...

Except third party programs can't change walk speed, or go in between W and A while walking at an angle.
What I'm thinking of it making it pretty much like the Xbox version walk controls.
And no, I've used a few programs, but ends up being the same thing all together.

Okay, now I know what you're thinking. "Ryan, just use a third party program to play!" Well the problem with third party programs, is the walk speed, and the turning.

The idea with this mod is that you walk faster the more you push the stick forward. Once you push the stick all the way forward, you walk at normal speed. This makes walking possible. I know this is possible since player speed is client side, and it wouldn't be cheating since you just walk at max speed anyways.

Now I don't know if this is possible or not, but the mod should be able to have smoother turn walking. Turning the stick slightly to the left on the controller with third party program is just like pressing W and A at the same time, all though you should be able to go somewhere between, so it's more smooth.

I would mod this myself, but I know nothing about Java, so it would be awesome if someone came out with this.

    Quote from SillyPotato

If we get horses Pigs will be useless for riding, and horses are too normal,
Without riding pigs Minecraft wouldn't be the same, and would stop being unique.
I encourage the idea of hay bales, carpets, and all the other 1.6 hype,
But we don't need horses. Jeb is just copying mods and its making minecraft boring,
If we want a mod we download it, not get forced to play it.
Minecraft is dying, and Horses would be the last straw.
Yes we should be able to craft saddles, but they should work on pigs ONLY.
Jeb, if you read this PLEASE DON'T ADD HORSES!
Comments would be nice, fellow forum-users.

Saying that horses will replace pigs is silly. Horses are very rare from what I've seen.

posted a message on Label your pets!
This idea comes from the thought that you should be able to name your pets like you can with eggs. Just putting an egg into an anvil, naming it, and placing it will give any animal a name. Why not be able to make an item that gives an already alive animal a name? This helps for animals that you breed, or just because you can't get eggs naturally.

The actual item (This can be changed at any time.) would be made of one iron, and one ink sac, to act like a stamp tool.

Anyone think this is good? Or have any thoughts to make it better? Please don't say no just because you can.

Now I have a second idea on the matter. What if you could craft an empty egg with some hard to get stuff. (Like a diamond, actual chicken egg, lapiz lazuli since it needs a use, etc.) and make it so you can actually trap an animal inside the egg, rename the egg, then just place it again?

posted a message on (Photos!) Beautiful Mountain Biomes (an easy change)
As nice as the mountains look with trees, it still adds a challenge aspect to the game, as those who spawn or decide to live in mountains need to go looking for wood. However what could make this work is if they added a complete different biome that had the same mountain generations, but with trees.

    Quote from 113820

you wouldn`t be able to do that because of the chunk loading mechanics, that chunk is not loaded because the player isn`t there, indeed the end isn`t generated yet, so maybe that the game should generate the ID the endermen picked up?

On the contrary. The game can save the blocks taken by Enderman into a database, and once the chunks load where the game decides to store the stack of blocks in the end, it will place them! Easy as that.

    Quote from 0_Zippy

The way the world and chunk generation is handled, this wouldn't be possible. The game would also be forced to remember what blocks any Endermen held prior to teleporting out of the Overworld, and this amount would be huge because there's always tons of Endermen you don't see carrying blocks.

The blocks that Endermen are allowed pick up is kinda limited anyway, so once you go to The End, you won't be rewarded with much Overworld content.

Yes, that's true. It would make the game remember what blocks Enderman are holding, but that's what we want to happen. If you think it'd be lag intensive, all it would need is to create a simple notepad list. Not bad at all!

And yes, the blocks are limited, but that's also why I brought up increasing the pick up with difficulty before.

I like this idea, and I think you should specify what they CAN and CANNOT pick up. But, there would be some complications: Like if they pick up player-placed blocks, that might ruin builds or adventuremaps. (And don't say 'oh, just turn it on peaceful'. a lot of adventure maps require hard or above easy difficulty on.) This seems neat, and maybe enderman pick up ores. I like this idea a lot. Please elaborate.
    Support.

    Hmm. Interesting suggestion.
Now the widening of what Enderman can pick up was just a small idea, but what if what they could pick up depended on what the game's difficulty was? The harder it is, the more precious stuff the enderman can take back into their dimension.
