I made a really big flat area in my map using mcedit but it just looks like a large rectangular indentation and is very unpleasant to look at. How can I make it look more natural using mcedit or omen?

For quite some time, I've had an enormous castle sitting on a save I have that is completely flat. I really want to import it (via schematics) into another world I have. The problem is, whenever I try to import it, I either end up with it in a kind of hole, or just looking plain weird.
So I finally figured out what I need: an application/mod that generates a completely normal world, but with a flat grassy area of your specifications in the middle.
It would work like this:
1. I open up the application and type in x and y values
x = length of flat area
y = width of flat area
2. The application then saves a world to my saves folder
the application generates a 1-block high flat plain of the specified width and length and then a normal world under and around it.
SO I ASK YOU: can you make it/do you have it? (mac compatible please)
My manor I build as a pet project on a SMP server (with fire disabled :tongue.gif:)
I'd love to show you more, a farmhouse + barn I built next to them, or their proper interiors...but my server still isn't up from the Beta update :sad.gif:
Do you have a save file or schematics that you could post??? CUZ THESE ARE AWESOME
I'm building a forge building for a blacksmith and I really need inspiration. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions (or screenshots :biggrin.gif:) for what the outside should look like and what should be in it.
I know that there are about a million of these requests on the forums, but none of the ones that I have seen have what I want. If someone could make me a map meeting these criteria I would be very grateful.
Criteria:
The map must have a flat are that is 500 x 500
The flat area must look natural
Hey guys, just figured I would let you in on a project I've been thinking of doing for a while now but am holding off until the Modding API gets released to began working on this. But until then...I'd like to share with you guys my idea. I call it....
DungeonsPLUS
I was inspired for DungeonsPLUS by a youtube commentator called MisterFantasmo...he has been doing a Minecraft Let's Play for a while now and recently "weird" things have been going on such as underground chambers, herobrine shrines, and freaky noises. Now while he more than likely edited these things in and is feigning his reactions...It inspired me to think if a mod could be done to randomly generate such underground chambers.
The video(s) can be found here:
After doing some research on here I have found that a mod like this is possible and with the Modding API I could get even farther into the terrain generation code and expand even more on this idea. However, right now I want to test the waters and see how well received this idea would be by the community...this will take up a lot of my time and I dont want to work on something that people wont find fun. The main reason I wish to make this is because Minecraft has gotten really boring for me lately and I want to spice things up a bit.
Ideas I Have Right Now
Randomly Generated Dungeons
---- Intricate Maze Chambers Along The Base Layers Leading to Treasure
---- Shrines That When Found Give The Player a Custom Item (see below)
---- Pitfalls/Other Entrances into "Abandoned Ruins" that can be explored
---- Any other suggestions?
New Items
---- Treasure: Which can be smelted in the furnace to form a Block of Gold, Iron, or (if lucky) Diamond
---- Magic Orbs: Very rare, can be found in Shrines, will activate special power when held in inventory
-------- Grass Orb - Doubles Speed
-------- Flying Orb - Reduced Falling Damage
-------- Fire Orb - Reduced Fire Damage
-------- Water Orb - Reduced Drowning Damage
-------- Normal Orb - Nothing...but it can be placed and is a really awesome decoration
-------- Electric Orb - Doubles the Amount of Redstone Collected From Blocks
-------- Ice Orb - Place on an Ice Covered Lake to Turn it into a Normal Lake
-------- Fighting Orb - Reduced Enemy Damage
-------- Poison Orb - Multiplies Attack Damage by 1.5
-------- Ground Orb - Doubles Digging Speed
-------- Bug Orb - Doubles Farming Speed
-------- Rock Orb - Doubles Mining Speed
-------- Ghost Orb - (Its A Secret)
-------- Dragon Orb - All Arrows Are Flaming Arrows
-------- Steel Orb - Doubles the Amount of Iron Collected From Blocks
-------- Dark Orb - Halves the Amount of Light Given Off by Things at Night (Spoooooky)
-------- Psychic Orb - Increases Arm Length
---- Lanterns: Found In Chambers/Mazes, Turn On And Off Randomly or Via Redstone, but are Twice as Bright as Torches
---- Receptacle: Can be found in Chests, Place and then the First Item You Put Into It It Will Automatically Transfer the Rest of the Items From Your Inventory Into It, Changes A Logo on the Side to the Icon of Whatever Item It Currently Is Holding. This is useful if you have a ton of Cobblestone and want to get rid of them all quick, or if you just want to organize your items
It's late right now and I've got more Ideas I just don't feel like typing them up at the moment...I'll write down more later. I'll also put up pictures of some chamber/dungeon ideas I've created already.
And as always, I'm open to feedback (positive and negative) and suggestions.

Now I know someone will suggest MineEdit but before you do, know this: I HAVE A MAC.
So please, before you post - keep that in mind.

Also, does anyone know how to build an anvil?
