    Scenario

Open my world level.dat file and I'm at location 100,xx,100000

I need to go to -450000,xx,-450000 - is there anyway I can get here quickly? or directly?

How difficult would it be to have McEdit read the warps.txt file and then have an option to warp to those points directly within McEdit?

posted a message on Suggestions for consolidating a large map?
I'm looking for suggestions on fixing my server map.

The image linked below shows how the land masses are generally distributed on my server's world.

As you'll note, they are quite far apart and I'd like to bring them all in closer together using some more of editor.

I've tried several of them out there and many have problems dealing with this map because of the vast "open areas" in the voids between the generated land.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

posted a message on 2 servers at once
    1. Create different /bin folders for each server you want to run

    2. Copy over all files from original folder

    3. In settings.properties change:

    level-name=OldWorld to level-name=NewWorld

server-port=25565 to server-port=2556x (where x is some other number)

    4. Ensure the new port 2556x is forwarded through your router and allowed through your firewall

    5. Start the 2nd server

I've ran 3 servers at once with no impact on performance (machine with 8 GB RAM).

Each one uses it's own memory slice.

Anyway to reload the prices after editing buying.properties and selling.properties without restarting the server?

posted a message on Same IP's With LAN Server
Your two machines should each have a different IP address. Check the DHCP table in your router.

Let's say one of you is 192.168.1.101, the other is 192.168.1.102

And assume that the first one is also running the server.

Person A (on first machine) logs in to 192.168.1.101 or 127.0.0.1 (localhost)

Person B logs in to 192.168.1.101

Verify that your router and firewalls are passing the ports through

Seriously (<-- the correct spelling by the way), if you can't do one of the following, you might have difficulty fitting in our server. I believe in the "teach a man to fish" not "give a man a fish" philosophy.

-- Click on the link in my signature block and read the primary thread
-- Learn that entering junglevillage.org in the "Enter the IP of a server to connect..." is same thing as an IP address
-- Visit the website http://junglevillage.org and click on the Enter The Jungle link

Dozens of new visitors today have been able to get to our server. I'm presuming they used one of the above methods, as I've not reposted the numerical IP address today.

    Hope that helps...

Responding to some comments I saw in the log from recent connections.

    Kits

There are no kits. Kits are something that come with server mods (like Hey0's hMod server mod) or other plugins. The Jungle is running pure Notch server right now - just the minecraft_server.jar file and nothing else.

    Commands

/help and other commands are not working - I'm not sure why, I've not ran a plain vanilla Minecraft server in nearly two months, I've been running hMod the entire time.

    Shelter

Right after bringing up the new map I made a shelter at the base of the hill. It's on the sandy side, where the sand makes contact with the water. There's a workbench and chests in there, it's accessible via a couple wooden doors at ground level.

Before signing off I emptied all of my inventory into the chests to make a communal storage area. If you visit the server, please help yourself to those items.

I just request that you put the stuff back before signing back off so that others can use it.

Keep in mind - I am the server owner/admin and sit in front of the box it's running on. You might think you could keep the stuff, but I'm the one with access to the playername.dat files in the world/players folder.

It's your call, but if you screw up and get banned, don't blame me.

    The Jungle is up.

New map until Hey0's hMOd, Cuboid and other necessary plugins available.

Monsters are on. Health works. Link to server in thread in my signature block.

Still on a temporary map until get hMod and Cuboid working.

At 6 PM CST I restarted server generating a new map - Survival2. The earlier map used today for about 12 hours was called Survival.

FYI, I'll be going through the player*.dat files from Survival to review which new visitors thought the community area property was better off in their inventories. Anyone with stolen property will be added to the ban list.

Anyone that does not understand "communal chests" mean put stuff in, and only take what I need can play elsewhere as you're not welcome on The Jungle.

I own Fractal Terrains and Campaign Cartographer 3, both from ProFantasy Software.

It would be awesome if there was a way to design something in there and then import it. I know Fractral Terains has option to save as VRML and SVG files.

    According to their site:

    Export your map

CC3 allows you to export your map, or sections of your map to high resolution images for use in documents or the Internet. Choose from JPEG, PNG or bitmap file formats. You can also export your map in vector format for use in other CAD programs.
