posted a message on 1.13 Jungle Island?

I highly recommend 6408041108247085973 because it's got nice coral reefs surrounding it, even though you don't spawn there. Although where you do spawn is also quite nice as it has a desert village and temple nearby.

The seed 6001927231719828555 DOES technically spawn you on a Jungle island... but for some reason it's completely surrounded by icebergs. I don't recommend this one as much.

posted a message on Help with Age NBT tag

Hi. I haven't attempted map making since before the command block overhaul and I'm trying to learn everything again. So, what I'm trying to do here is make an item that despawns after 2 minutes instead of the normal 5. I used to know how to do this before.

    /summon Item ~ ~1 ~ {Item:{Age:3600,id:"minecraft:diamond",Count:1b}} - this doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

You haven't been following the 1.9 news have you?

Anyway, there's already a way to disable hostile mobs. It's called Peaceful Mode. It can be toggled off and on at a player's will. No support.

posted a message on New Biome: The "Bad Lands" Now With Pictures! +Thanks for 500+ views!
This is too much like the mesa biome in appearance. I see no point in adding this. Also, why would there be wet clay underneath a badlands? No support.

I disagree with most of the people on this thread. You can never have enough decorative features in a sandbox game about building. Full support.

posted a message on What if Minecraft was more like Second Life in handling server worlds?
Well since Minecraft worlds are essentially infinite (30,000,000 x 30,000,000) and there are no airships or anything like that, how would this work? Would you have to travel 30,000,000 blocks to go to someone else's world? Just because it's in Second Life doesn't mean it should be in Minecraft. Minecraft is a completely different game. As far as portals to other servers go, I would be for it on a voluntary basis, as in, if both server operators consent they could open a portal between servers.

posted a message on The Undo Command
The point of this suggestion is to allow people to be able to undo something without needing to use any external programs or plugins. Plugins only work if you are on a server anyway. This is why it is a good suggestion.

I totally agree, I've done a lot of accidental fills into things, and there was one time I accidentally trapped myself with an incorrect /tp command on a clock. Don't ask how.

posted a message on Decrease tree density - We don't need this much trees, no thanks!
Having a lot of trees is kind of the point. You have to make those biomes safe by chopping trees. Forests IRL can be dense enough that it is hard to see too far in front. Absolutely utterly no support, this is a terrible idea.

posted a message on So... Who still plays "Vanilla" Minecraft?
    Quote from Lonnehart»
When I bought the game last year I was told by my nieces about all the mods available to the game. Stuff that can modify the game so much that it almost seems like cheating. However, I've never modded any single player game I play. I tend to find it more fun to take on the challenges the game programmers intended for the game. I'll probably start using mods at some point if/when I decide to try multiplayer, but only as whatever that server I connect to requires.

So who around here still plays Minecraft as is, updated only by its developers?

Minecraft is a sandbox game with no real rules and it is by no means competitive, therefore "cheating" isn't a valid description of any action you take in Minecraft or any modifications you make to Minecraft. (Except for in multiplayer). Fun is relative. Everyone has fun in different ways. Some like vanilla, some like a few mods, some like tons of mods. All are valid. When you call out other people for playing the game the way they want, it only makes you look like an arrogant elitist. In fact having mods is one of the many strengths of the PC as a gaming platform, and the main strength of the PC version of Minecraft over the console versions.
    Quote from Geneo»
    I play vanilla only.
What do you mean, "...it almost seems like cheating." Seems like most of them are cheats.
I'm with you on this one.

To me, it seems like there's 3 "Minecrafts" out there.
1- The original (vanilla) MC- the game that the designers intended for you to play. Looked down upon because that's the one "noobs" play.
2- The modded Minecraft- the one people are either trying to make more interesting (less boring) or have shortcuts in cause they want to play by their own rules, think that they can "improve" the game, or simply because they want to feel 'special' cause they've 'customized' the game. ("I'm running a mod!" "So, I'm running a mod pack!!")
3- The Minecraft mini-games. These people are bored of MC and don't want to play it anymore. They'd much rather play another game, but they use MC to make it. They'd use Project Spark (which can do so much more and look 10X better doing it), but MC is so much easier to work with. (Heck, any kid can do it.) Course, most of these people who make (and play) these mini-games have 0 originality- it's the same ole PVP, Hunger Games, etc., over and over.
I think another reason why people write mini-games is that MC has no end per se and no 'winner', and that frustrates the beejebers out of some people. So they come up with mini-games that 'end' and have a 'winner'.

If you like mods or mini-games, good for you. But to me it sounds like if you need mods or mini-games to enjoy MC, you've outgrown it and it's time to move on to another more interesting/challenging game. "Minecraft" isn't your 'style' anymore.

No, there is only one type of Minecraft. It's called Minecraft. If you add a million mods to it, if you design your own minigame and then play it with your friends, you are still playing Minecraft. Minecraft wasn't "meant" to be played a certain way over the exclusion of other ways. Being able to customize your experience is a strength of PC gaming and especially Minecraft, as it keeps people playing the game for years after they would have stopped. Posts like this just make you sound like an arrogant elitist.
