Best area from legendary was either East Commons or the Lava land.

If you guys need some inspirations for structures in your map, I would suggest watching the movie The Fall (2006), which have one of the most astonishing visuals in a movie I have ever seen. And it also showcased some interesting architectural (and some natural) wonders around the world.
Or if you don't have time to watch the movie, here's all the location used in the movie and you can research some of the locations yourself
Also the movie Samsara Is perfect for inspiration.
@krose: I like the color scheme, I wouldn't worry about making it too colorful.

Figured I'd mention that the newest version release of Terra Restore 2 should be out next Monday. I've been doing version releases with each new intersection (with save world files to pick up where you left off) which has helped the map a lot.
But yeah, maps can definitely take a long time to make, especially if you use lots of command blocks and stick with the normal 16 wools/dungeons.
If the aesthetics can match the innovation of the first map, I'm sure this will be an amazing map. Good luck with release. I haven't seen any pics yet, but your first map was pretty great.

Hi, I have a problem with my WorldPainter.
Whenever I import a heightmap (from WorldMachine), the whole terrain except for the water rises up extremly strong. Even small hills reach the size of mountains while the mountains (they are actually not that large) reach the limit of 255.
All flater areas get completly lost.
So these maps are pretty much useless ...
I really hope anyone can help!
In worldmachine try to keep the ratios equal. If you are making a map that's 1024 x 1024 blocks in minecraft, try making the worldmachine extent 10km by 10km, and the height 2550m. Also export your image as a 1024 x 1024 image. With this, every block will equal one pixel on your map, and as long as it doesn't look to steep in the WM preview, it should look good in WP.

Moon 2 was one of the best ctm maps ever made.

learning curve is kind of steep, as well as the price. Try to keep the dimensions of your wm build the same as intended minecraft dimensions. Also I would start off making worldpainter brushes, those can help you learn the basics before you start making maps.
I would watch jamzi boys videos on worldmachine. They are still very applicable, although simple.
Also keep in mind strong erosion doesn't always make your map good, even though it might seem good in the worldmachine preview.
Good luck, I'm excited to see you take up terrain making, its a great deal of fun.

Whats up guys, some of you might remember me, I haven't played a ctm, or Minecraft in general for over a year now (cause computer broke), I'm just wondering if any really notable releases happened within that time(with the exception of the new Ragecraft, downloaded that yesterday, and its fantastic) , and if anyone needs a map tested or would like feedback on a map just pm me, I'd be happy to help.
yoo orchard, I would play Sketch's map, or Tikaro's Simulation Protocol 2. There have been some other good maps out recently, but I'm not sure which ones.
