posted a message on Advanced Villager Interaction
Am I the only one who thinks singleplayer Minecraft is way too lonely? I think I know a way to fix that. I think villagers need to be upgraded. They need to be more individual and more interactive with the player. They should have names, personalities, memories, and social statuses(with the player), and they should also have a sense of property(knowing which house is theirs). Like, say you live in a village. You walk into a random house and a villager says, "WHO ARE YOU?" Maybe you can get a menu of responses, or type a response, and the villager(through advanced AI) would understand, and attempt to speak with you accordingly. They would become angry at you when you insulted them, and happy with you when you complemented them. Even simply walking by and having them say, "Hey, Steve! Nice weather, huh?" would make Minecraft feel less empty.

That's impossible, seeing as the audio file has been in the game for a VERY. LONG. TIME.

Then the storyline has been in development for a VERY. LONG. TIME.

You don't craft it at all, it's ORE!!!
    Pros: Easy access in caves
Cons: Takes a long time to mine

C'mon, the dude just wants a shenanigans mod. I like the idea too.

Terraria is a complex world. While only being a small island, it holds many secrets. There is much mystery behind the world of Terraria, and today, it shall be uncovered in the new story, "How It All Began."

Before Recorded Time: Once upon a time, long, long ago, there lived a being in time and space. Not physically being anywhere, just a presence. This being was not man, nor creature, but force. It was a power that no man could completely posses altogether.

One day, this force, which was called Mana, accidentally created land. It was a small island, not attached to any physical form, surrounded by an endless amount of water on all sides. This land had a forest, a jungle, a desert, even a form of hell.

But for some areas, Mana had added too much force, therefor corrupting the land. Evil creatures rose from the ground in these corrupted areas, and that is when Mana decided to counter it. The world could not simply be filled with corrupted creatures. So, Mana added more creatures. Some peaceful, and some with good intentions, but harmful effects.

Then, Mana added the very first human to this world. An old man, who's name is unknown. He decided to give this man a home fit for a king. But alas, the old man's home had become cursed, as it stretched very close to hell. The old man became cursed as well, so that if he heard any words escape a humans mouth at night, he would become a terrible creature.

Then, the second human. A human with wisdom, and knowledge of everything related to magic and nature. She was called the Dryad. She was to become the mate of the old man, but she was too afraid to go near him. The idea of becoming cursed frightened her. So, Mana became angry, and in his rage, he added several other humans. One had knowledge of everything about the small world. One had the ability to fabricate some strange artifacts at will. One had the power to instantly heal any human. One was an expert miner, having used explosives instead of standard tools to get what he wanted. And finally, one of the humans was pulled from the far-off future, a firearms enthusiast, who was very famous on the black market. Most of these humans were greedy, and asked for money in return for their items or services.

Mana wanted to add one more human. One that was capable of surviving without Mana's help in this world. Mana decided to prepare for this human. Mana decided that the human should be rewarded for certain things. So, he hid clay pots underground, which held some useful items, but they didn't seem useful enough. So, he added something more rare. Mana added hidden chests underground, which held magical items. These would become very useful to a great explorer. But Mana wanted to add one more thing to make survival less harsh. Mana added secret crystals underground, and when a human broke these crystals and inhaled their dust, he become stronger, and less vulnerable to the corrupted creatures.

It was almost time. Mana wanted to test normal humans with no perks like the ones he had made already. Each and every one died before a year had passed. Mana needed a superhuman. Mana decided to take the souls and tools of three humans from random points in time, and fuse them together to create the ultimate survivor. He took a Spartan soldier, who was wielding a copper shortsword at the time. Then, Mana to the soul of a miner in the Gold Rush, who was just about to become rich with the point of his copper pickaxe. Then, just one more human was needed. Mana took a lumberjack, who was using his copper axe to get his family a Christmas tree at the time. He took all of their souls and tools, and used his power to combine them.

Unfortunately, Mana transmitted every last bit of its power into this superhuman. Just as the human had been created, Mana had put itself within the human. The human could not handle so much of this great power, so it instantly exploded out of the human and into the sky in the form of stars. The explosion was so powerful, some pieces of the land flew into the air and stayed suspended, like the stars. Some creatures hid their treasures on these floating pieces of land. And some of Mana's corrupted powers affected the bodies of the dead humans. The bodies rose from the ground, and became a new form of the undead. Their eyeballs swelled up to great size, and flew out of their skulls, each eye with a mind of its own.

However, five humans where far enough away that they where not affected too much by Mana's corrupted powers, and they merely rose from the dead without becoming evil. One, named Cthulu, was very nervous and high strung. He's eyes were always shifting, and he was always watching the other humans. Another, named Sashaka, had an immense appetite. He was always hungry, and would steal the other humans' food in the middle of the night. Another of the humans was named Hachvar, and he was a scientist. And finally, the last two humans were Catheel, a man, and Rhana, his lover.

These five, lonely humans had no idea that they were about to become hideous creatures. It was just a matter of time before they all became bloodthirsty monsters of the night.

Cthulu decided, one day, that he would visit the old man everyone spoke of. He was very nervous as he tip-toed into the old man's home, eyes shifting rapidly. But, Cthulu was very prone to sickness, therefore, very prone to curses. As soon as he sett foot in the old man's house, Cthulu started shaking wildly. Blood dripped out of Chtulu's mouth, and his right eye started growing larger. Even after his eyeball left his head, it continued to get larger, and larger. And then, as his right eye flew away, Cthulu died.

One night, Sashaka was much more hungry than usual. He had search everywhere for food. He had even gotten up the guts to go to the corrupted land. It was there, in that damned sliver of bad land, that Sashaka found a mushroom. It was not like a normal mushroom, it appeared rather moldy. Sashaka didn't care, he was too hungry for safety. He ate the mushroom, and just as he swallowed the last bite, he noticed his skin starting to change color and texture. His skin was cracking badly, and turning a dark brown color. His two back teeth grew rapidly, cutting through the skin on his jaw. He stated to grow taller. He couldn't feel his legs or arms anymore. Then, Sashaka lost his mind. He had become a terrible creature, an evil, corrupted one. This creature is currently known as Eater of Worlds.

Hachvar, the scientist, had a high intellect when it came to animals. He loved creatures, whether they were evil or peaceful. One day, he found some sort of blue, bouncing, gelatin-like creature. He had to have a blood sample. He reached into his packet, pulled out a syringe, and plunged it into the top of the creature. Little did he know, he had pulled the wrong syringe. This syringe was full of steroids and growth serum. The creature grew, and grew, and grew, until it was a monstrous size. The scientist ran away, and picked up the clothing he had been working on. It was a black, stealth outfit which he was trying to allow to turn invisible at the user's will. He put on the clothing, and the creature caught up to him, enveloping him in it's watery center. Some people call this gigantic creature the King Slime.

One day, Catheel and Rhana had been taking a walk. They had made it to the sandy desert. Rhana asked Catheel if they could go back, but Catheel said that he had a better idea. Rhana looked at him suspiciously, then saw the look in his eye, and smiled. They kissed passionately, and soon started making love. But suddenly Catheel felt a pain in his back. He had bumped into a cactus, which left several large pins stuck in him. Rhana was worried, so she tried to help Catheel by pulling out the pins. But, just as she pulled out the first one, she fell backwards, bumping into the same cactus. Now, she had pins stuck in her back, too. The couple had no idea that this cactus was poisonous. The poison had been injected, and there was no going back. Their skin turned green, their noses and ears began to end in points, and they suddenly became very hostile towards the other humans. They created a whole new breed of creatures, which we know today as Goblins. This large family of Goblins waged war upon the humans. Rhana had died giving birth to most of the army, and Cetheel had joined it.

There were some nights when more undead beings would prowl the world than usual. These nights are now referred to as Blood Moons. But why are they called this? Well, one night, the old man was very depressed. Despite his knowledge of the immortality the curse imposed upon him, the old man tried to end his life anyway. He took a large knife, and slit his own throat. The old man did not die, but became unconscious. His blood slowly trickled down the staircase of his grand castle. As his blood crept toward land, a large meteorite hit the ground. The blood finally dripped down to the meteorite. This had been a lunar meteorite, a small piece of the moon. The small bit of the curse in the old man's blood was powerful enough to curse the meteorite itself, which still had non-physical connection with the moon. The moon had just become cursed, so that on certain nights, it would turn red and attract evil creatures.

Fifty Years Later: The superhuman that Mana had created was very successful. He had been cursed, poisoned, and burned several times along the way, but he had a beautiful house of golden bricks, and all of the other humans lived with him. He had over one hundred coins of platinum, the most valuable metal that could be found on this world. He had a truly damning sword, a pickaxe that could break the bones of God, and some sort of tool he had invented which was a combination between a hammer and an axe. Some stars had fallen over the years, which he collected to harvest what used to be Mana's power. He had explored all of the floating slabs of land. He had every magical treasure he could possibly find. He had slain all of the hideous creatures in the world, and he had even raided what used to be the old mans house. He had gone to the jungle, the corrupted lands, the desert, the ocean, and even the pits of hell. He had everything. This was his world. But, he just sat on his throne all day, as there were no more areas to explore, no more demonic monsters to destroy, no more adventure. So, he decided that he would end it.

He climbed to the top of the tallest mountain on the island. He was ready to jump. But, just as he was moving his body forward for the fall, he remembered that he had a certain item. This was a strange, gold item that had kept him from hurting his legs after a long fall. It looked as if it belonged on the foot of some animal. He took this item off of his right shoe, tossed it to the bottom of the mountain, and took a leap.

Over time, people have traveled to this land, which is now called Terraria. Nobody really knows how the first settler got here. But, some say that at the bottom of the tallest mountain, you can see a tombstone with strange words engraved on it. People have said that the superhuman now wanders the world, and will forever, as a ghost. Is there any way to really know?

And that, my friends, is the story of Terraria.

I posted this on Terraria Online as well. I currently have someone working on illustrations, and might get someone to do an audio-based MP3 of it. What do you think? And yes, it is COMPLETELY original.
