Where has all the creativity gone? When Notch was around he'd add all kinds of weird hostile creatures, he'd make different dimensions like the Nether and The End, he'd listen to the community. All of the ambition is gone, the world feels static and hollow, the creatures in it feel static and hollow, all of the worlds look alike and they're all either ugly or mediocre, and the devs just keep adding boring stuff on top of boring stuff as if it will improve things.

All 4 mobs look unique and interesting, mob A definitely needed to be in the game. You're telling me Mojang can't make more then 1 of those 4 mobs? Even though they have all the resources they want right at their fingertips to get someone to code them in, they won't even acknowledge the rest 3 mobs in the future? Talk about wasted potential. Mob B sounds like the kind of mob that almost no one will encounter in a serious playtrough so it's like a novelty, ah nothing can be done I guess.

The resolution is too restrictive for the kind of style the artist is trying to go for.

The texture size they're using just doesn't support smooth transitions. It all ends up looking like an image was upscaled and lost it's quality.

These actually look pretty nice except when viewed from further away, they seem kind of blurry. It would be cool if the default texture pack maybe had a bigger pixel by pixel limit but eh.

I'm almost sure this post is going to be taken down by someone, but i don't see this whole camel eyebrow thing working out in out favor of fish licking at all. Valve, why are you trying to make Terraria a pay to play youtube channel? The one thing I found cool about my cat is how the community built time bending device around her toilet. They made all these amazing memes, now servers that make "inappropriate content" are going to be spanked in favor of olive oil that is used to cook only little kids. Servers like Hypixel, which is much spicy have to risk getting kinky because Microsoft didn't like the idea that servers on Minecraft are making statues of dolphins. And thats just the T-Rex that will never know the joy of putting olives on the end of his claws, the servers that are going to stay, like Minekeks and Lifebore are going to have to pay a part of their "lols" to Microsoft. I honestly feel like Microsoft only cares about squeezing all the lips out of my sexy cat. I wouldn't care about this new bacteria being ordered from the internet again if it didn't mean that the only version of Wet Tutor that was safe from all the normies and slavs that Microsoft is trying to get us to marry is now going to be left to burn while Microsoft makes money of little kids that want the new "Adolf Skin Pack" something that was easily buy able for FREE on Linux only.
Yeah it's another case of a company not being able to keep up with the content actual gamers make so to avoid competition they just kill it off. -

Yes, but as I said it's more likely that they'll add one new npc (like the polar bear) that doesn't really affect anything and that's about it.

"They have stated multiple times the updates are intentionally small and lightweight for quite a few reasons. Ranging from them just simply wanting the updates to be smaller for now, to keeping content light that way players can adjust rather than be overwhelmed."

Sadly this isn't Terraria, the devs ain't gonna add 600 features, they're more likely to add 1 unfinished boss and finish it 2 years later in another underwhelming update.

He's gonna reveal a boring mob or block they are working on that would take them 6 months to add to the game. The update would most likely have a quirky name with a description of how it's the biggest update so far or something like that.

Hopefully they would release the Windows 10 version for other operating systems and hopefully it would have good mod support. -

This is disgusting, I was about to download some old mods for beta 1.7.3 but now they're officially lost media. Dead, non existent. GG.

Can you make a b1.7.3 mod that extends the day cycle?
0
Can you make the days longer?

Make Minecraft break again

Guess it would be good to make them burn in the sun, for the sake of consistency / logic.

I struggle to think how such a simple and easy to kill mob gives people trouble, might as well make creepers not explode and skeletons unable to shoot arrows, let's also make it so every creature in minecraft dies in 1 hit just to make sure nothing remotely interesting happens in the game ; )

You think too big for Mojang, I see them addin 1 new sea block after 8 months of development and a brain dead mob.
1
Not sure if your problem is with them being difficult or just them being annoying.

Yes I feel that way, Mojang has made it clear that they are afraid of making big changes so most of the time the new features are not only very few in quantity but they also lack depth which makes me wonder why this uninspired 5 min of entertainment content takes so long to make. In my mind people at Mojang are probably spending months upon months not actually developing new things but shooting down ideas because they have the idea that Minecraft should remain a "simple" blocks game forever.
We have a game with updates that cater to everyone, it trully has the potential to have each of its features fully realized with a lot of depth in them, that's why specific updates exist, updates for builders, survival and so on. However since each update has so few things going for it, It quickly becomes boring.
I'd rather have teams of people working on each part of the game and release creative updates that actually make the world feel alive and fun, but that's a pipe dream. Another pipe dream is me wishing that Minecraft bedrock or whatever it's called now finally catches up to the Java version, releases some kind of modding API and Microsoft start adding their own unique content instead of playing catch up to the slow Mojang progress.

Or just add them as a neutral mob and by changing the difficulties it will become a hostile mob. But it's not going to be added anyway so who cares.

For me it's still not a lot of features and most of the features that are there are not that interesting.
I used to feel like Notch wasn't good at optimizing his game and I was actually optimistic when Microsoft bought Minecraft, I thought that with all the resources and experience Microsoft can provide the game itself would start seeing big updates with more polish and creativity put into them.
However all I have seen so far is boring features, long development times with very little of substance to show and even though I thought things would be of much higher quality after Microsoft bought Mojang, most of the content is still under developed and lacking. With all the resources at their hands I just can't take the lack of man power seriously, Jeb himself said he was afraid of actually adding a lot of things to the game because in his mind Minecraft should be a simple blocks building game or whatever and so instead of providing a feature with a lot of depth to it they spend months upon months only to give a half baked mob or a block with a different texture on it.
Notch may not have been the best programmer in the world but at least he had imagination and scope, new dimentions giant updates, weird creatures and biomes, I didn't agree with all of the changes but at least there were actual changes and not just months of "development" in we get a few useless features that I can't even muster the interest for to at least have a negative or positive opinion on them.
Also I'm not sure what happened to that modding API but from what I see mods are still scattered all over different versions of the game and some authors out right stopped development because they were tired of dealing with massive internal changes of the game code forcing them to rewrite their mods.
Mojang doesn't have an obligation to make updates but since they are already making them the updates themselves could at least have some semblance of creativity in them.

It's definitely stupid, however Minecraft can still have a dangerous sea mob, it just doesn't have to be a shark, it can be something alien looking and weird, however this is Mojang we are talking about, creativity is not something they're good at anymore.
Also Mojang doesn't seem to like actually adding a lot of content, this isn't Terraria where after an update you can replay the game and have a totally brand new experience, at most I see them adding a few blocks and a useless/rare creature that is copy pasted from real life (Lamas, Polar bears) and it would probably happen after a year or two of "development".
There was already a chance for them to add 4 creatures, one of which would have made the seas much more dangerous (just like sharks would) but instead they made the community choose only 1 creature because Mojang can't be bothered to add content into their game, and so you have the New mob B that from the sounds of it won't be seen all that much.

Jesus christ, not only did you make the text bold but you also wrote in caps.

I'm still waiting for varied terrain and more unique mobs. Now that they are with Microsoft you would think that they would have teams working on the Nether and The End dimensions in order to bring more content to them and make them less barren but no, Mojang still has like 5 people working on the game and they are deliberately holding back features because they are afraid Minecraft won't be a simple block building game or something.
They also seem to ignore the community a lot and just add random stuff that take half a year to be made and is released unfinished only to be forgotten by the community.

I miss when people shared seeds that gave us beautiful terrain instead of just convenient seeds that have rare stuff close together.
