would you be able to elaborate on this a bit more? I don't know exactly how to edit/create a colormap for stained glass(at least for when it is placed not for specific biomes) and also how exactly would I "link" the textures?

Is there a way to only have a single file with the glass connected texture (compact version) rather than have a separate file with each different color of glass? This would dramatically reduce the size of the connected glass texture files. If not is there a way to change only the glass and have that be the same for panes or do those also have to be separated?

So I just learned how to create custom item textures dependent on various things. One of these things can be the type of enchantment the item has, for example a sword with fire aspect could show a different texture than the default. Although this works the problem comes when I have multiple enchantments. I've tried many ways to see if I could get a custom texture for a very specific set of enchantments but it nothing I try seems to work. Is it even possible to have a custom texture for an item with more than one texture? If not then how does Minecraft/optifine decide which texture to use if an item has multiple enchants and the item has a different texture for each enchant it has on? Please tell me if you need any clarifications, answers only please, thank you.

I'm trying to create a weird kind of grass texture but I found out that the grass block has 3 different textures that go to it, the bottom, sides, and top. Is there some way to change this or at least find where to specifically change the top/bottom part of the grass block? Secondly, I am trying to make a second joke pack and in it I switched the textures for lava and water, although I found out for water and many other blocks (like redstone) that it is coded into the game itself to give the item or block some kind of tint to get a certain color, like blue for water. Is there some way to be able to change this tint so when I try to change the color it doesn't look so weird?
This is all for 1.14
I also forgot to add, is there a way where you can change the texture of only one side of a block, similar to grass, but for something like a cobblestone or diamond block where are the sides are automatically the same?

I've already searched it and found an answer for 1.8 to 1.9 but Minecraft has had a lot of changes and I do not know if this is included in these changes. I do not want any of my current textures that I am working on to become corrupt and lose it but I also want to upgrade it to 1.14. It's a simple question so that's all I have, I can elaborate on anything else if needed. Anything useful is much appreciated.

I recently tried to get onto Minecraft, which itself worked well, until I loaded into the game. I discovered that while I was in fullscreen mode while playing Minecraft I would suddenly get a lot of lag where everything was delayed by about a second or two, even my mouse. I have a very nice computer and the only thing running in the background is discord, this is why I am so confused as to what is causing the lag. I can easily run much more demanding games on my computer which makes me believe it must be something with Minecraft or the launcher. And suggestions that could help would be appreciated. Please don't say something similar to "I have the same problem."

I created my own server so I didn't have to buy one and now I want to try different maps on it (which I have figured out how to do) but am unable to figure out how to change the server version. Many maps I want to try with my friend are on an earlier version than 1.13.2 but I don't know how to change the server version. Any help would be nice. I'll give any more info if needed, please only respond if you have some sort of solution.

I recently created a villager farm (one that breeds villagers to get more) but my first two villagers wont breed. One usually will have hearts but the other wont and this will cause them no not breed so both villagers now don't have hearts, but then the villager who wouldn't get the hearts now has them but the villager that did have them now won't get the hearts. This continues forever in a loop. The villagers are a toolsmith and a farmer, I've traded with both of them, farmer's inventory should be full, there is a third villager underground where the doors are also placed. plz help
