I think it'd be awesome if they created some giant monster that appears once every 15-20 days. Make it 30 blocks high and give it the ability to destroy your house if it sees you. It could start growling at 100 blocks away, giving the player time to hide.

This may be a stupid question, but is it possible to rig a hopper under a mob trap? Fill the room with water and have the drops flow into the hopper which would automatically store them in chests?

Bats are annoying. Often times, I'll find myself killing them immediately due to the annoying constant squeaks. Its a problem for me, because it makes it harder to hear other mobs sneaking up while exploring underground.

Love the idea of a giant mob that you would naturally try to run from. Would be sweet if it had a thundering growl from 200 blocks away to heighten the experience and give the player time to hide or escape. Make a costly potion arrow that would cut the giant's health in half upon impact. Perhaps the rare ingredient to said potion could only be attained from a witch.

^That sounds very practical, actually. Not sure how feasible it is to build such a long timer, though.

Maybe practical is the wrong word. I basically meant (what you said) that the timer would probably have to be extremely long to be fifteen minutes and that's not enough time for me to do any exploring.

Was thinking today of a use that isn't practical, but it'd be cool. Rig several of them up on a delayed timer (like 15 minutes if its possible) before you go exploring. After the 15 minutes is up, you would have a signal for your base location.

    Quote from Cubia

Then there's the Wither. Pure gear-check fight. There's no strategy here. The thing sits on your head and just spams exploding bullets. That's IT. Even the Enderdragon is more interesting than this. But there's no point in FIGHTING the thing either, because it only leads to......

.....the Beacon. The single most overpriced and useless item in the game BY FAR. 1500 ingots/emeralds/diamonds. ***1500***. For just ONE of these ridiculous things. And you get 40 blocks of range in each direction from the main block itself, and that's IT. For a very weak effect that can be gotten in, oh, about 20 seconds, by simply making potions or enchanting something. It's powers are the sort that would be useful for exploration and combat, except.... oh yeah, YOU CANT USE THE BEACON FOR THAT. Because it HAS NO RANGE. The IDEA of the thing sounded awesome. Set it up, and give a nice buff to a large area; you could use it for caves or abandoned mines that you wanted to explore. ......but nope, wont work for that. It has no range. Just down a potion and grab an enchanted whatsit instead, because they're gonna do the same things except 3290527305723057297 times easier and better.

THIS. Plus the beacon texture evolved from perfection into a total eyesore.

Criticism is important, because it allows the developers a public gauge on what they're doing. None of it would be occurring if the people complaining didn't love the game to begin with. Its just human nature for those people to want to see something like this to evolve in a manner that they deem consistent with past changes.

Having said that, I don't like several changes because they stick out like a sore thumb. I love the way the bats move, but their detail is out of place and they should look "blockier." The beacon light is the same. It doesn't have the brightness that the the original solid beam did and that pretty much defeats the second purpose of using it as a locator. I have to appreciate the work that was done to make it more detailed, but I believe this is a classic case of where less is more fitting.

I wish they would stop adding to the land and start fleshing out the water. Pretty much nothing going on in it.

    Quote from Happy Fun Ball

Finally! That was THE most annoying bug...until I came across the "digging down too fast gets you stuck in midair" bug. I hope that one is fixed too.

I think what happens is the player is forced into the block due to a speed glitch of some sort. I've noticed that the block will re-appear in mid-air if you leave and re-enter the chunk or if you place blocks below and around it. Doesn't matter if its sand, gravel, etc...it is invisible and froze.

Indeed. Maybe some coral that can be farmed and brewed into an extended underwater breathing potion. Maybe a sunken ship with treasure? Maybe you could purchase the map to it in a rare villager trade. There is a ton of ocean with little to nothing in it besides squid.
    Quote from EnderHunter61636

What minecraft really needs though, is more aquatic stuff. They need to finish adding fish, and possibly add sharks and jellyfish. Jellyfish could be passive, and move very slowly, and bumping into them could be similar to a cactus, but with a small amount of poisoning. I also heard that they don't want to add sharks because they'd be too fast or something. They could just make it so their range of awareness is very short, perhaps 8 blocks. Unless you're injured, in which case, it could detect you from a greater distance. Kind of like they smell blood. Also, make them spawn less frequently, similar to Ghasts. I also think they should add an overworld mob that flies, like a big eagle or maybe a large dragonfly or wasp. Just "Toshing" it out there.

So that if I find one temple I leave with 9001 diamonds? No thanks. :/
I look for temples because I like to explore. Not for loot.

I wasn't suggesting it be on blocks of ores. Maybe it could be attached to the top of the temple and the player would have to craft the ore pyramid to reactivate it after picking it up from the original temple position? I also think there should be a unique item that can only be acquired from making a series of trades. Possibly a map to some treasure hoard that costs 50 emeralds? Or they could add sunken treasure ships in the ocean? I know some would argue that it would be too much, but there is a ton of ocean floor with barely any benefit to explore besides the occasional open ravine. Maybe coral that spawns deep and is an ingredient for an underwater breathing potion? Why not add TNT to mineshaft chests? It seems logical for it to be there and TNT is hard to come by as it is.

Personally, I think the beacon block should be lit up and placed in the jungle temples. That way, there is more of a purpose for finding the jungle temples instead of just receiving the same loot from desert temples. I've found two in creative, but none in survival after searching seven jungles.
