I'm probably going to leave this website as well. PPNS was the main reason I came here.
NationStates has a pretty good forum I've heard.

I don't play MC much but after seeing the whole Oculus to Failbook sellout I gotta say kudos to the MC team for telling FB and the Oculus sellout to go up a tree....
I could see Oculus selling out to a company actually tied to gaming but Failbook? Money talks I guess....
I'm pretty sure that was an April Fools joke.
Apr 12, 2014My base from my main world is stationed inside of a mesa biome on the edge of a canyon from which I have a bridge connecting both sides. I dug it out in the side of the canyon mainly for a place to store my stuff neatly but now it's my home. I have a modest farm on top of one of the mountain tops. I am also currently planning to build a horse stable once I get more horses. For now, I keep my horse in a fenced off area close to my base. I also have a mining base set out in the desert by the mesa biome I live in. I am currently digging out a 16x16 quarry there mainly for cobblestone and a place for strip mines once I get down to the bottom.Posted in: Survival Mode
Mar 31, 2014The smallest birch tree requires a 5×6 (diameter×height) volume of free space, whilst the tallest tree requires 5×8 volume. The volume starts at one meter above the base of the sapling, that is completely empty of anything but leaves of any type or birch wood. That is, birch trees will grow next to other birch trees. The topmost 5×5 layer above the tree is always empty space. Birch trees will not grow if this space is obstructed by other blocks (including torches).Posted in: Survival Mode
If the other side of the room has the exact same trees planted with exactly the same amount of space and they're growing okay then it may just be a hapless event. If so, try bonemeal as Mobax suggested.
You will need to plant the dark oak in a 2x2 pattern and give it a bigger space.

The second time I was with other people and I had a floating house made out of wooden planks. Not very interesting...Posted in: Discussion

2. The wiki says "Eating food with a food value more than what is currently missing from your food bar will not give you extra saturation."
Mar 29, 20141.2.4 or 1.2.5. I'm pretty sure it's 1.2.4 though because I was reading up on some bugfixes between the two updates (such as ocelots acting like cats I think) and I was experiencing that one in particular.Posted in: Discussion

hello everyone, I've recently gotten Minecraft to work on my pc, and it seems that I get a maximum of 240 fps. my friend says that she gets a couple thousand, so I think that my pc really sucks. What do you all get?
Honestly, I can't tell the difference between 40 fps and 100 fps. I doubt anyone else can tell the difference between 90 and up. As long as the game runs smoothly on your computer it is at the least, average (since Minecraft isn't a very resource demanding game.)

Connect the different areas using suspension bridges made out of acacia wood (goes well with the clay in the Mesa biome).Posted in: Survival Mode

It's a game made of blocks. It doesn't need to feel realistic.
I feel this type of realism will benefit to the game. I always felt that the biomes seemed empty.

to me minecraft has never felt like it was abandoned until 1.7 it has a huge variety of unique land scapes but there's almost nothing to fill them [ex:ocean]. there's less than 10 animals to fill them just jungles are robust and pretty but there's only 2 creatures fill this large area of land scape there's no bird's chirping or insects crawling to make the jungles feel alive.there's wolves and large forests but there not filed with much life besides pigs cow chickens and sheep the no deer or predators to give you the feeling that your actually hunting in the forest.the almost every mob in the game has a rextexture with slightly different ability's such as spider/cave spider slime/mangmacube villager/witch cow/mooshroom. does anyone else feel the game need more more creatures
Insects would be pretty hard to add to the game since they would have to be only a few pixels in size. This would lead to the insects not even resembling insects.
