I think towny does most of what your asking. If don't want them I suggest to write on the bukkit forums then here, you will most likely find more plugin creators to help you.
This would seem like a cool addon for hard core players! It seems like some simple code. The code would be a mixture between modified API'S, and when the mob touches the torch it would use the code as the zombies breaking down the door modified. So this just looks like all the code is here for this but not with the right items and order. I am a modder myself but I don't yet have enough knowledge on this though sadly. One I get better at coding then I would be more than happy to make this mod.

This sounds like a good mod idea, and I would be really interested in this mod. First, I love the idea of spawning in infinite water, but spawning in infinite lava would be a bit overpowered. Apart from that, all the gems sound really interesting! So you asked of ideas to obtain them. I think they should be ores, but very rare, and spawn in dungeon chests. The better the gem, the more rare to find it is. I think this would balance the mod a bit more. Also, I can't code, so I can't help make the mod, but I can suggest ideas!

I have not started to work on the mod because I want to hear from the community if they would be interested in this mod and would enjoy if I made this mod. This Mod Is most likely to be developed with minecraft forge so if you do want this mod make sure you know that it is going to have minecraft Forge!
What I am planing to do in this mod is to make Gems that you have to acquire Gems around your world. (I have not made a decision on how you can acquire the gems so make sure to leave a reply on your opinion on this )The Gems you collect will have different abilities to do different things.
Here are some examples of the gem's Powers
Speed Gems
Ability to shoot lightning on right click
Ability to fly
Ability to shoot fire or fire charges
Ability to breath underwater
Immune to fire/lava damage
Ability to spawn in water and lava (Unlimited amount of water and lava)
Destroy an amount of blocks on right click
spawn in tnt
Much much more
If I get positive feedback I will start to develop the mod and publish Beta releases! If anyone would like to know more information or thinking about help coding for the mod and make textures, Feel free to leave a reply or PM me!
Hello everyone! I decided to start a project on making a co-op Challenge Map! Right Now we have 2 people working on the map!
I have so far worked on the map for 7 Hours. I am Trying to make a super fun experience for the players and have unique features from other maps. This is my first map that I am going to publish, I have good Knowledge on redstone and command blocks so I hope I have implement allot of redstone and not some boring map.
Here are some of the Features I was thinking of adding!
A good challenge
Long Play time (Making a lot of levels)
Easter Eggs!
some sort of score system
*doubtful* Implementing a resource pack Designed for the Map.
More soon to come!
