Precisely; despite what some people may think, a mob grinder is not something people make first day to "win" the game. To be honest? I like building the structure more than the drops I get.
All in all, mob grinding isn't really an overpowered feature because if the player wants something other than rotten flesh and bones from the grinder s/he spent lots of time working on, they still have to put in the effort of killing monsters. So I see no reason to remove it.
No support, mob spawners are difficult and can be expensive to make for players that don't spend all of their time mining. Not only do you have to build the spawner (which takes thousands of blocks being mined/placed), you need to light up the caves and surrounding area for it to give a usable amount of spawns.

I installed Rei's Minimap and I know most servers don't allow "mods that can give an unfair advantage" [which I don't really see how it does I mean it's just a map.] so I was wondering can servers detect this mod? I created a backup of minecraft.jar before I installed the mod in case they can. Please answer I don't want to get banned from any servers. Rei's Minimap is a GREAT mod so basically what I'm asking is can they detect it and if they can would they ban people for using it?
They can't detect any mods that you have, if you don't use them.
They might have a method of FINDING the mods that you're using, like x-ray.
But they can't see what mods you have installed.
Minimaps doesen't give an unfair advantage, it's ok to use them on most servers.
I'd change it a little. Make it so it is on easy 10 seconds for a heart, on medium 30 seconds for a heart, on hard its 1 minute for a heart, and on hardcore make it like 3 minutes. Also the food bar goes down too fast. In order to balance this suggestion you would have to make the food bar go down 3xs slower.
